Don't care, didn't ask
One of the most kino openings of all time
They're work suicide nets down there
OMG WORK SO HARD
SUICIDE LOL
Usually I would agree but paranoia agent is kino.
that's paprika, not paranoia agent
that's not what happened, it would be much faster for you to watch the movie than have someone explain it you
Same shit
Coprophilia is gross.
>that's not what happened
that's still what the scene represents
>anime fan can't into basic imagery
sad!
>paranoia agent
I watched it and it sucked
>Woah dude le society in Japan is ... Le two faced??
>anon thinks a smiling face is silly
That's just really sad.
Millennium Actress > everything else he's done.
Paprika, while technically amazing, is his worst.
I watched Perfect Blue and for life of me can't remember most of the story. Usually don't have that issue so what is going on? I remember the singing part at the beginning, her being nude at some photoshoot and the bathtub screaming. That's it.
My man. Every time I watch it I'm an emotional wreck by the end.
for me it's
Millennium Actress > Tokyo Godfathers > the rest
Millennium Actress was visually kino but the story was kinda banal. Literally just some hoe being incapable of getting over her oneitis.
Low IQ take. It's a tribute to Japanese cinema.
One of my all time favorite films, animated or otherwise.
>Cinemaphile anon calling anime cringe
ok bud
Only DBZ isn't cringe
you're choosing to be a gigantic homosexual on christmas. that is a choice that you made. think about that.
I don't want to look at hideous bug men. If I were Emperor my first decree would be that all anime characters must be based on the bustiest, bawdtiest, lustiest JAV prostitutes.
I have a so-so knowledge of anime and I've only watched the first season of one punch man, (which was kino) three seasons of my hero academia (which was shit) and I'm halfway finished with kill la kill (which has been kino so far).
Where do I go from here? and what about manga, where should I start there?
I'd go to Cinemaphile but they seem lame.
chimps are so easily agitated and violent
no we aren't
Here's my personal favorites chart.
from left to right and top to bottom
Turn A Gundam, Planetes, Crest of the Stars
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Eureka Seven, Oban Star Racers
FLCL, Macross: Do you Remember Love, Fullmetal Alchemist 2003
I think you'd like FLCL the most since it was made by some of the people who did KLK.
Here's a sort of "Anime Canon" chart.
These are basically some of the "classics" people would tell you to try out to dip your feet into the medium, they're some of the best it has to offer.
Try checking out Samurai Champloo or Wings of Honneamise
>Golden Boy
>Monte Cristo is the best book of all time
>Hellsing
Not sure if I can trust the list, though I can see a lot of great ones
It's a pretty old list, but it's solid imo. I've only seen about 1/3 of what's on it, but they're all at the very least worthwhile.
I also have a rec chart from Cinemaphile
Man, Mononoke is so good.
Not him, but I couldn't tolerate more than 1 season of Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. It has a few great gags, but its too dense and full of jokes that just don't translate well.
That is not really a good list. It looks like someone trying to criterion collection anime and basically took something like "Watanabe good, I saw on adult swim. All Watanabe must be good!". The did that for kon and shinkai, Miyazaki and then added any other old anime people still talk about. These are in general the once in awhile shows/movies and are arthouse or nostalgia.
I would suggest looking at animes produced by the same studio as the ones you like, and same for avoiding studios if you didn't like something. It doesn't always hold true, but many studios are pretty focused on doing one or two types of anime and for example if you liked something from kyoani you probably will like the rest. There are some generalist studios who churn out whatever they can based on popular mangos of the time which is where it breaks down, but even then it has some use because there are different feels to adapted mango vs animey original.
From what you posted I would recommend Gurren Lagann and to try other gainax and trigger shows. You probably want to ignore most adaptations that haven't ended as a series. Again there are exceptions since you might like Goblin Slayer and part of the fun is the hype during the release (I haven't watched s2 which just ended).
>I would suggest looking at animes produced by the same studio as the ones you like
This doesn't work for all studios, it's better to pay attention to staff. Directors, writers, key animators, character designers, composers.
Correct, but I think it works well enough for someone just getting in to it and it gets somewhat obvious that you shouldn't write off a big studio like Bones just because you don't like MHA. But if you don't like one thing from PA Works I bet the same applies to the rest of their series.
>That is not really a good list.
It's not terrible, but i'd call it atleast close to good.
Just remove Grave Of The Fireflies, because it's genuinely terrible.
Watch Madoka, avoid spoilers. movie was meh
TTGL
yuyu hakusho
probably most of TRIGGER's stuff.
samurai champloo and cowboy bebop
g gundam if you like /m/ and a little shlock
One Piece (Manga)
Watch some of the big name classics and then branch out to other stuff based on studios and creators etc
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain, Azumanga Daioh, GTO, FLCL, TTGL, Black Lagoon, Bakemonogatari, Konosuba, Nichijou, One Piece, etc.
let me give you a list of nothing but kino
-Redline(movie)
-Space Dandy(tv)
-Sonny Boy(tv)
-Memories(collection of 3 short films)
-Vampire Hunter d Bloodlust(movie)
-Ergo Proxy(tv)
-Patlabor 1 & 2(movies)
-Welcome to the N.H.K.(tv)
>-Redline(movie)
>-Space Dandy(tv)
havent watched the rest
but watch redline right now
Watch Teggen Toppa Gutren Lagan from the same Studio that did Kill la Kill
Everything they make is kino tbh
What are some other anime that are genuine kino? For me it's picrel. The ending track is a fricking banger.
The sequel is much more kinoer
>so good normies don't even care that its anime
Make sure to watch it dubbed.
>Make sure to watch it dubbed.
>dubbed
Disgusting.
Not him, but Space Dandy is one of like 5 anime that just make sense to watch dubbed.
dandy's va sounded a bit too old and gruff + aped Archer's mannerisms a bit too hard and it was distracting.
It's literally one of the few shows that is better dubbed. Die mad, Cinemaphileutist.
>dubbed
It'd completely ruin Dandy's random Engrish gimmick.
And I just know a lot of episodes and characters would get annihilated by awful modern VAs. Especially the after-life planet episode, and the alt-universes one.
>Did you say my name?
>No, my gem is also named Bort
Also when the frick is it going to end? I binged it about a year ago during a hiatus and it's still not been updated?
anime characters looking Asian?
a rare sight in anime
R8 my x3x
>rec thread
>doesn't label chart
you're a fricking moron
If you don't know any of those shows, then you haven't watched enough anime.
>they’re are people posting on this board with taste this unbelievably garbage
Almost impressive
I love based workplace kinos
like the Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management anime.
Is this kino and based like that too?
I love when the thread goes in the exact opposite direction of the OP's stupid intentions.
SAA ISHYUU WO HANACHI KURU
KIMI NO KAGE WO KUI
KYUUFU NO PAREEDO GA KURU KIMI NO NA NO MOTO NI...
didn't ask
>That boy is just baka I tell you what
SPACE*DANDY is turning 10 years old soon... I'm already waiting for new merch. Maybe a Popup Parade of Dandy and Honey?
they're just smiling
Anime is all style no substance. None are worth watching if you're over 18 years old.
superfuntimekinoexperience has arrived.
for me its the Big kinO
