It's just a knee-jerk opinion reaction. Plenty of businesses compete in real life, and true monopolies are actually pretty rare in current year. It's perfectly reasonable that, in the MCU, stark focuses on alien tech and saving the planet, whereas other companies like tesla focus on consumer tech. The simple presence of a fictional super-elite, super-intelligent tech guy like stark doesn't negate every other tech researcher on the planet, lmao.
