Legitimately not a bad idea. When Nintendo started sterilizing the Mario brand for the New Super Mario games, little kids started eating it up. Mario mania is pretty huge again, like it was in the late '80s and early '90s, but the difference now is that it is definitely geared towards younger kids in terms of merchandise. My daughter and her friends know all the Mario princesses and love to pretend to be them, so there's definitely a path forward there. And the explosion of content on YouTube geared towards morons kids who just watch iPads all day has 100% shifted hard towards doing Mario themed stuff. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had to sift through "Mario growing up" or "Princess Peach plays with rainbow slime" videos just to find something my kid wants to watch.
