he bluffed and lost. calls the b***h a cheater because she also had nothing so obviously she should have just folded instead of calling. hes a little b***h.

funniest thing to me is when i kept bluffing but they were bad bluffs, too small. It ended up being a 3 bet bluff which didnt make any sense. The guy called me which was the right thing to do, then on the 4th card i got my nuts. total luck. No one ever gave me credit after that because i was playing so stupidly betting so much with nothing. So all i had to do was just fold everything below a pair of 10s and i ended up knocking half the table out then bullying everyone else for an easy win. I dont normally play poker. I legit feel bad for knocking out the first guy but i really enjoyed watching other people look me up and down after i went all in with the nuts and them saying "okay i guess lets see if you have anything" lol.

          Anonymous

Even if she read him, his hand was favorite to win. I.e., there were more cards in that deck he could win with than her.

I would have called too if I saw his hand. He had what, 35% percent chance?

He had a 53% chance. Can you not fricking read what I said? There were more cards in the deck that could have came on that river that would have given him the winning hand than her.

I'm putting myself in her seat, if I saw his cards and that board, I would've called. How the frick would I know what cards remained in the deck? He had a 40% chance at best under average circumstances, good enough for a coin flip for me.

                Anonymous

There's RFID chips in the cards so that production knows what they have. No cameras in the table these days.

                Anonymous

I'm not saying that she knew the cards, I doubt that she had any way of knowing. Probably just figured that the guy has nothing, worse than a j high, or she's a moron. I'd go with the latter on this one.

You can't be this fricking stupid. He was a 53% favorite because there are more winning cards for him than her. WTF do you mean you don't know what is in the deck? How do you think odds are calculated? You look at the cards you can see and those aren't in the deck. The rest are. Also, if you would bet $100k on a coin flip, why don't you go do that? You can bet red on roulette all you like. You will go broke playing that way.

You really are stupid. How many decks do you think they use? Do you think they shuffle 500 hundred cards at a time? Then why can't people make 5 of a kind? Whatever other players threw away is irrelevant because it can't be known. That's not how poker odds are calculated. And it was only like a five person deck. I can tell you've never played poker in your life.

You sound really defensive about a simple question. Is it because an honest answer to that question makes you look very foolish? Is that why you resorted to personal attacks instead of a simple answer? I think we all know the answer.

It's unfathomably stupid to think they could use multiple decks in a hand of poker, and proves that all of you saying she didn't cheat are idiots.

Oh shit, I misread this, you're trying to intimidate that people think you play poker with multiple decks at a time. A fresh deck means it was opened at the table at the game, so the cards are not tampered with beforehand you miserable gaslighting looser.

                Anonymous

You're the moron. The odds are calculated by taking into account all the cards from the other players that were already out of the deck. In this particular instance it favored him, but not on average. I'd wipe the floor with you at poker.

WRONG. He had 21 outs. That's over half the deck as she had nothing. That's over 50% to win. And seeing how they ran the river twice, he was like 70% to win.

I have nothing against his play. I’m just saying that when he moved all in, he had nothing. He was playing a game of luck. Maybe what he did is considered standard but I don’t get why he’s reacted the way he did. He didn’t hit on the river so all he had was an 8 high. You know how many different hands beat an 8 high?

It's not about what he had, it's about what she had. He was laughing until he saw her turn her hand over. And the most damning thing was when asked why she called, she said because she thought he had ace high, which beats her hand.

Can someone explain why Poker is so popular? It's just a chance game. I play Riichi Mahjong, at least there's some control in that game (not a great deal I will admit)

It's not just a chance game. You can't play the cards, but you can play the players.

Why don't players just refuse to table talk and wear a full face mask so they can't be read?

Because then they can't trick other players. Some people do wear hats and sunglasses and refuse to speak though.

There's actually quite a bit of skill/knowledge behind Texas Hold 'Em, knowing your outs and chances etc. You can also read players irl, but there's a reason even online poker has people who consistently make money.

So? Clearly it was the right move and the risk she took was worth it. She called his bluff, no matter of it was dumb of her or not.

I seriously don't understand this, are pro players so far up their own asses and have their own arbitrary ways of playing that if you don't play perfectly safe in a game all about bluffing and taking risks....you're cheating?

Morons can't be conditioned and trained to screw themselves over, instead they'll do what is probably highly illogical, and still make you look stupid because you were a slave to the meta or what "you should be doing" which ultimate is just a homosexual cope for being bad and not knowing that your moron opponent would do some moronic shit.

          >are pro players really so far up their own asses

Yes. For people like Phil Helmuth and other pros, there’s certain things you are supposed to do at certain times. They base every move they make on assuming everyone at the table adheres to this. So if you raise Phil Helmuth or he raises you and you call, he looks at the board and assumes he knows exactly what you have. If you don’t have what he expects you to have, he’s going to b***h and cry about how you don’t know how to play poker. They are pretentious buttholes and even if you win the pot they will say you didn’t play the hand correctly. As far as I’m concerned, anything you do that moves the chips from their stack into yours is the correct move. Going all in with 2 7 off suit is the right move if you win.

        Anonymous

Didn't she have more chips than he did? Like even if she lost that hand with his all in she would have survived, whereas he was betting all his chips. So less risky kn her part.

No she was in for all of her money

Wasn't he doing a "dumb" risky play, and she just called him out on it? His play was more risky than hers

His bluff was risky, but calling with jack high is way more risky. He wanted her to fold without the cards being shown while she needs to have a better hand which isn't likely.

I kind of get it. Playing against odds too much is suicidal and can screw up the whole table chip-wise and psychology-wise since you just invited a shit-fest that takes skill away from play. And you don't play that way if you want to *keep* playing high level poker because playing like that does just usually make you lose. Essentially if you have 5 people playing you're making everyone more like 20% chance to win with you in a pot. But capping yourself at 20% is a shit idea for a pro. In the long run you're not doing yourself any favors, and you're fricking the table up short term. Which, whatever if you're just trying to make quick cash off a game. But I can see why it annoys more serious players.

Of course, she technically had the better hand at that point because she had jack high over 8 high but there's absolutely no way she should have banked on that. Him going all-in is an absolute standard play. It's called a semi-bluff. You're simultaneously trying to represent that you have a much stronger hand than you actually do as the board stands, but at the same time you know that your hand could improve drastically with the right river card.

People bet in the hopes that their hand will improve by the river. If everyone just checked until they clearly had a made hand then you would be super predictable to play against and wouldn't get anyone to put money into the pot.

She didn't cheat the hand, but the real scandal is her giving back the money. That means there's collusion going on, and that's where the real cheating is happening. Which is why one of the other players protested and caused a scene.
It also means that the "pros" being pushed to the top of the earnings are probably not actually the best but are being pushed to the top in rigged games, similar to what happens in boxing and maybe mma/ufc.

People (who know fricking nothing about poker) are trying to make it out like he gave her a death glare and then had a hissyfit because he lost unexpectedly or got a bad beat, or is some kind of sexist who hates losing to women.

The truth is that his look after seeing her hand is one of utter bewilderment. Like he cannot process what has just happened because she called with a hand that literally makes no sense and in fact would only make sense if you could see your opponent's cards.

Garrett has lost plenty of huge pots to weaker players and got bad beats and been totally gracious about it and never freaked out before. I remember he lost a set over set hand. He had a set of 4's and his opponent had a set of 5's and he lost huge and looked a bit annoyed but said "nice hand" and never lost his cool even though his opponent kept needling him and berating him for how he played the hand.

You don't even have to pretend body language is a science to notice his entire demeanor change in the span of a second. Dude is toying with her one second and the next he's not even blinking.

            >Dude is toying with her one second and the next he's not even blinking.

He wasn't "toying with her". He fully expected to lose the hand and was laughing about it. He laughed when he said "I have 8 high." This is after he has seen both river cards and knows that his hand is no good. He is still waiting to see what she has at this point but he basically assumes that she has him beat.

His demeanor only changes when he sees what she has. It doesn't change when he knows that he is beat.

There are literally hundreds of hands you can go back and watch him lose and be nothing but cordial to his opponent, because his opponent had a hand that makes sense.

there's a delay so it basically has to be someone in the game.
and as has been pointed out, they went all in after the turn, and she wasn't even favored to win after the last card. so whoever was signalling her would have to know what card was about to be dealt. also they ran it twice so they would have to know the next two cards taht would be dealt. and would have to signal all thsi information into her sweet wet pussy.
so people who say she is cheating are really making quite a claim

Literally the only circumstance I could see this happening (outside of people misreading their hands or misclicking, or not giving a frick and just button mashing) would only be in a low stakes game (not for fricking over $100,000 live on a stream in front of the entire world) and if you are way, way ahead of your opponent in terms of your stack size so it's not that much of a risk, and/or you know that he is overbluffing or on monkey tilt and likely to having a complete random hand like 7, 2 offsuit. In that scenario, you might call expecting to lose but you just want to information.

Outside of that, it is literally one of the most insane, nonsensical calls ever in the history of high stakes poker, hence why it's literally the only thing the poker community has been talking about for the past couple of days. It's like the poker world's Russian invasion of Ukraine, except that actually even made more sense than what this does.

I am not crazy! I know she cheated that hand! I knew it was for 129k. One after Magna Carta. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. She - she covered her tracks, she got those idiots who don't play poker to lie for her. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? She's done worse. Those breasts! Are you telling me that a woman just happens to have natural D cups? No! She operated it! Robbi! She called on Jack high! And I defended her! And I shouldn't have. I took her into my own post! What was I thinking? She'll never change. She'll never change! Ever since she was 9, always the same! Couldn't keep her hands out of the Botox! But not our Robbi! Couldn't be precious Robbi! You can't even recount what happened. I love guys like you so much. I played for a living for 4 years and you guys made my life so easy, especially in pot limit Omaha. Just sit back and wait for the best hand and then watch you call all your money away. Oh wait, you're too stupid and too much of a b***h to play with real money.

      >VR chat
      >Friends

If there was ever a guy in poker who doesn't deserve the shitstorm that's headed his way it's Garrett. Good job he's israeli.
