It's a good movie, I doubt any of the shitposters here have seen it. Maybe they'll rush to read a review now so they can pretend they have, or will they act as though they're too good to watch a movie and try and share their moronation that way?
It's one of the most embarrassing movies ever made.
>I doubt any of the shitposters here have seen it.
I have seen it. I love japanese cinema, but Sion Sono is possibly one of the worst living directos on the planet.
It's shocking that he's an adult, and has been making movies for decades, when they all look like student films, and the adolescent themes/jokes are just pathetic.
it's just a trashy ecchi anime that was for some reason filmed live action and released as a 4 hour movie
Bingo. Which is why it's so popular on the internet.
Sure. When you're a child. Once you grow up you might want to watch this one, pic related
That was a decent movie.
Do I have to watch Lady Snowblood and Female Prisone #701 to understand this movie or can I just skip those because they don't look good nor fun
Of course not, the fact that you know the reference (the hat/dress) is enough.
(Female Prisoner is a shit movie btw)
>It's a good movie, I doubt any of the shitposters here have seen it.
it's true, we're all such international film plebs that we would never even would have heard about it without your input
thank you for your service
no but seriously kys the film is just alright
It could have been just the first two hours and it would have been a good movie. Four is nuts and the second half made little sense, though it was a long time ago that I watched it.
not a fan of sion sono at all, but the cheesiness of his movies is obviously intentional and love exposure was kinda powerful at least
saying ''it looks like japanese tv'' wouldn't be a criticism for him
I was born 2001 so it was before my time, but the heavy use of no-smartphone-cellphones was offputting and the christian symbolism felt narrow, since it did neglect other religions such as islam and judaism
I remember back in the days, around 2010 or so, Cinemaphile was bombarded with Love Exposure-threads. Perhaps it was to that era what Battle Royale/Ichi the Killer was to those born 10 years earlier and what Fireworks and Sonatine was to the weebos birthed 20 years earlier?
>This is one of the worst movies Cinemaphile tricked me into watching. Did I get filtered bros?
you have to explain your experience better, what made it bad >one of the worst movies
name some other "bad" movies so we can judge your taste >Cinemaphile trick
how did Cinemaphile trick you, what were your expectations? >Did I get filtered?
Love Exposure has a few references: Christian symbolism, 70s japanes action-films, Beethoven, japanese cellphone-culture and such, but it isn't a hard movie to get. Any person with a normal IQ should understand if the movies theme/visual style fit them or not
around the time when it came out, lots of Japanese nerds who were typically owning lots of VHS tapes of B-movies and old tv shows were treating the director of this movie as their /ourguy/ in Japan and I couldn't like them
the movie was alright tho
Love Exposure reminds me a bit of the psychadelic/progressive rock from the early 70s, it is sort of free in how it will unfold, it doesn't care much for the establish productive route but instead takes plenty of weird turns/directions to the point of being nauseating for some
either you're open enough to sense it, to flow with the ride, or the tunes doesn't follow your suit
its a very polarizing experience, it will likely leave a mark, good or bad, which will affect future watch-decisions, if ya wanna delve deeper into the weird asian style or not
I love Welcome to Dongmakgol because of its SOVL, do you think i'd like Love Exposure too?
Never heard of it, is it good? The answer to your question is almost certainly yes.
nipslop
>shitty J drama
: |
>shitty J drama, movie
: O
To call Love Exposure a J-drama is to out yourself as not having watched it, Anon.
Point is it was Japanese TV level, if it had been released episodically no one would give a shit about it.
It's a good movie, I doubt any of the shitposters here have seen it. Maybe they'll rush to read a review now so they can pretend they have, or will they act as though they're too good to watch a movie and try and share their moronation that way?
I suffered through all 4 hours of it, never again. It's just a meme movie for entry level weebs

It's like a psychedelic trip. Either you have a comfy and hilarious trip or you have a sluggish shitty one. I loved it, the humor was on point.
+1
it's just a trashy ecchi anime that was for some reason filmed live action and released as a 4 hour movie
>Rape
>Soul
Trump is going to prison chud.
It's quite possibly one of the most mid movies ever made.
Which is a shame because the first three parts are unbelievable kino.
drops some webs and let's see how soulful it is
Lol get fricked, you loser
It's not, but the pacing is great.
Sure. When you're a child. Once you grow up you might want to watch this one, pic related
Not while The Wrong Trousers exists. That film's soul is unmatched.
What a man would do for pussy is incredible

I thought it was universally loved by Cinemaphile-anons but I guess I was wrong
it placed in the top ~200 (202nd) for the 2011-poll, perhaps it was just because recency bias?
There's just a lot of newbies who haven't watched it.
Watch Rebirth of Mothra 2.
>Sion Sino
more like Sion Kino
maybe one of them
Yes!
