Unfortunately That's not contrarianism anymore.
Zoom zooms that grew up and partake with the reddit memes all love them. Not helped build the fact that, even technically more accomplished, the Disney films are considerably worse because of their soullessness

The Millenium Falcon is the best arc with the most kino moments, starting from the Hill of the Swords encounter. The ending still remains one of the best things i've seen in fiction
Indeed. Someone would have to have pretty shit taste to think anything post-conviction was good.

There's no accounting for shit taste, pal.
Saying it doesn't make it so. I've not heard one good argument for why anything post-Conviction is well written
Whether or not something compels you personally is one thing. But to say that you need an argument for why someone is well written means there's an assertion that it's poorly written, which must be established first. So you can't just say >It's shit
And expect someone to tell you it's not in a scientific means. The only proper response to >It's shit
Is, >It's not. It's good.
Or, >I like it.
Or >It's awesome.
Something like that. But if you were to say >It's shit because x, y, z, etc.
Then you would have the grounds to say >I've never seen a good counterargument for this.
Anonymous
>It's a "burden of proof is on you" meme
You know what, it doesn't even matter. I can establish/demonstrate it's poorly written regardless
How can be in a contrarian in some frickin manga barely anyone reads? There's contrarians within your contrarian community reading this instead of novels? Fricking hell you people are weird.
moronic take. Lost Children is awesome. Rosine turning into a jet bug is one of the craziest things I've seen in a manga and watching the medieval characters try and rationalize the supersonic boom of a jet engine was ridiculously hype.
Lost Children is based
That last arc in the island with the Harey potter witch roasties was garbage and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mori will be superior to late Miura
it's still better than most manga afterwards even though nothing compares to the golden age arc, well maybe lost children does. only FKMT manga can compare and that's a completely different genre so berserk is still the GOAT

Because there's less action and more reflection?
It's not an action manga, because that's not what Musashi's real life arc is
Golden Age is really overrated and the rest of the manga is much better. It's a shitty game of thrones with a kill em all ending and a couple good moments yet everyone treats it like its the best of the best in the manga world.
I think the reason Golden Age is considered to be the peak of Berserk is because it is a finished story in and of itself. Guts becoming the Black Swordsman is an ideal cliffhanger ending, the circumstances of which do not necessarily need to be explored in order to create a sense of something deeply disturbing, ominous, and ultimately tragic.
It has a beginning, middle and an end, and that's why it's seen as the peak of Berserk.
No one that actually continued to read the manga considers golden age as peak, its literally just shit game of thrones without any magical elements, only after it does berserk become whole with the merging of the magical and phyiscal plane.
The only morons that consider golden age as peak are the idiots that only watched the anime which stops at that point and never read the manga
>No one that actually continued to read the manga considers golden age as peak
I have, and I do. Everything after Golden Age is just a slow, meandering decline with some good moments now and then. The art gets better for a while I guess, but even that takes an absolute nosedive when they get to the fairy island.

1: what the frick demons flooding the world
2: demons set themselves up as rulers, but finally guts reemerges from the nether to slay demons trying to do so in "europe"
3: the giant "Mughal" empire thing attempts world conquest, it seems the rest of the world is fricked
4: they kick the shit out of the "papacy" and there are only a few vestiges of resistance
5: guts, initially a doubted mercenary starts to take control over resistance
6: he becomes a king like geiseric or whatever his name was, the skeleton horseman who was the last "guts" during the last eclipse
7: guts gains enormous success, mirroring griffith, freeing europe and teaching other cultures how to kill demons and overthrow their demonic masters
8: in the process he creates his own little empire and starts to become corrupt, after doing something that disgusts himself, on a whim he leaves the throne and sacrifices himself to re-enter the nether, without his leadership his empire starts to crumble
9: in the nether he meets the god hand and the idea of evil who try to sway him, but while he is no longer "good", he remains his stubborn self and rejects them,, he discovers femto is not griffith and fights his way to griffith only for femto to take him away and bring him to earth
10: femto does this to inhabit his body and take over guts' empire, ostensibly a hero to fight demons, he is a really a demon himself, guts manages to fight his way back to earth
11: guts and casca trick femto into revealing his true form and trigger a rebellion against him, after defeating him he is reduced back to griffith, guts and casca take him to the mountains where casca admits she loves him over guts
12: the world is going back to normal, guts is tempted to do awful things again, realizes his empire is too big, centralizes too much power and can't be allowed to exist and deliberately divides it between 3 rulers like diocletian before retiring to the mountains with griffith and casca
Theres some good moments like Griffith's resurrection. Really the issues of meandering and bloat don't catch up with the story until the boat, in which Berserk turns into total garbage.
The shitty hiatus boat arc is the worst arc in HxH. Chimera ants it peak shonen.

>Shounen is not a genre you and it doesn't matter how many times you people repeat it.
yu-uh, is so.
keep in mind the bloat/meandering and feeling of being forever on the boat only feels like that because of long hiatus, people who read the manga now wont ever know about that long hiatus and dont wait for literal years.. they just read the story and thats it lol
Why the frick does Guts have a parade following him around anyway? Casca and Puck are fine. Witch girl is ok because shes sexy, but the rest are so fricking awful.
after the eclipse stuff actually started to get really good, you idiots who dont know what you are talking about who only watch the anime and movies that stop right at the cuckening are emberassing
After the Eclipse, Berserk became saturated typical shounen cliches with the massive powerup for Guts from the Berserker armor, the JRPG party with comic relief characters, apostles and monsters everywhere, main villain being elusive like your typical Saturday morning cartoon, and the endless filler chapters that didn't advance the main plotline.
before the eclipse it was just boring political crap, in a typical boring world and shonen even the entire band of hawks was basically just not developed or and most just exist for comedic effect. The world after the eclipse became a lot more interesting/its own character, the fights became better with higher stakes and actual the dark fantasy that was at best hinted in the beginning started to bleed into the world and the current jrpg group hate some or not are at least developed better then the original hawks ever were.
if it was so boring and shitty why'd you sit through it? at least the guys saying that post-eclise was boring don't immediately out themselves as morons in the process
You got used to DBZ-style shounen anime so you find the pre-eclipse chapters boring. The world after the eclipse wasn't interesting to me at all because it was way over the top. The story didn't even feel like dark fantasy anymore despite all the monsters. When the MC becomes essentially invincible, there's no more tension in the story. If you strip the powers of the new members of the hawk band, they are very generic characters.
I havent read to that part yet I watched the anime first and its been a slow movement throguh chapter 1 thats been going on for at least two years now for me
Cinemaphile hates it now, as the series is under the narrative control of a grftter hack that somehow fooled everyone into thinking Miura was his best friend and revealed the full story to him 20 or so years ago
>Be Miura >You dies >Your team and publisher keep radio silence for almost a year because they dont know what to do no >Enter Kouji Mori >Friend (but not apparently THAT close) of Miura, failed seinen writer know for his half obscure works, mostly copied from Miura's (see pic) >Decides to take the opportunity to gain something from his friend's dead corpse and shows up to Miura's team, claiming Miura decades ago asked for his help for few chapters of the Golden Arge >In the days they worked together, apparently he revealed to him the entire main plot, and up to the last chapter wrote by him apparently he was still following loosley that original idea >Nobody bats an eye, not even Miura's actuall assistants, that instead had no idea about the endgame because apaprently Miura never told them >Everyone accept Mori as the savior, and the team just now released the first two chapters of the new "era" of Berserk, under Mori as main writer >TFW he's a grifted that will raiload his life to wealth by fooling everyone into thinking is badly wrote fanfiction is the true ending planned by Miura
Prove me i'm wrong. How in the hell Miura never told he had a clear vision of the ending to anyone aside him? And why he didnt tell that in the year of so between his friend's death and the recent chapters made under his direction?

Eh, I don't think that is true. I remember Miura mentioning Mori in some interview that he based either Guts or Griffith on his personality or something. So he's at least somewhat close to Miura. I don't know how much he knows about the story, but Miura's assistants are there and they should at least know some things about the Fantasia arc.

Almost nothing you read on Cinemaphile is true. Mori and Miura were likely friends. If there wasn't at least a modicum of validity to that statement, it wouldn't have come to pass that Berserk is being continued by Mori. These things are not so hard to corroborate, and Japan is very careful about respecting people, especially legendary people/one's seniors. The people in charge of licensing/publishing Berserk wouldn't be so careless as to push a narrative like that.

>These things are not so hard to corroborate, and Japan is very careful about respecting people
They only care about money like all corporates around the world. They enslave the manganakas, forces them to insane schedules, often tries to impose their ideas on the plot (like Toriyama's publisher pretty much forcing him to ressurect Vegeta, because readers loved him. Or Kishimoto being basically blackmailed to ressurect Kakashi for similar reasons)
It's not far strentch to them listening to any grifter willing to help them keeping milking a famous sage even after it's author's death

>It's not far strentch to them listening to any grifter willing to help them keeping milking a famous sage even after it's author's death
Yeah it is. It's a massive stretch. It would be too easy to poke holes in the assertion that they were close friends if they weren't. The backlash from this can have a long-lasting effect on business.
Anonymous
I'm not denying they were friends. I doubt the claim that Miura never revealed to anybody aside him the entire plan for the plot. Not even his family or assistants. This sound shady at the very least
i mean meh the "unfinished" ending we get on the islan is weirdly fitting and kinda works (on an island in which time basically doesnt pass, everything is peacful, everyone starts to heal and people can move past old grudges) so anyone is basically just waiting for the next stuff.. if its up to quality ok cool if not oh well.. the first two chapters so far arent much to go on.

The problem is that Mori is going to give Bersek a generic, Guts beats Griffith in a big battle ending, and moron fanboys are going to cream their pants and act like that's what Miura was going to do to. From the ridiculous speed up of pacing in the new chapters, with Guts immeaditelly attacking Griffith, and then Zodd showing up for another fight next chapter, it's so ridiculous and fanboy catering, it's insane. Miura had evolved, there's zero chance in hell he was going to do this.
Anonymous
Because people don't think how or why things happen in a story. They only look at what is happening and don't understand anything else. Just look at what is happening with OPM. It doesn't matter that the original story was a parody of troupes that all battle manga uses, it doesn't matter that Garou character was not like this, it doesn't matter that Saitama is now your typical protagonist angry at the villain that just "killed" his friend, what it matters is the big explosions and how cool the fights are.
I too don't think Miura was going to make Guts go full moron at Griffith, but people hate him so Guts attacking him is just what they want.

It doesn't work because the loose ends didn't get tied. Griffith planned to kill all magic users with Flora being the first victim. No doubt Griffith's next target would be the residents on that island.

Miura was so over bersek long before the boat arc that the two new chapters were absolutely jarring. Before the grifters came in with the headcanon we had Isidro and puck harassing witch e-girls and miura being too much of a b***h to resolve casca getting her memories back.

Truly now that Miura is dead, Berserk is finally free to continue
This is the most moronic f/a/ggot post I've ever seen. Miura and Mori were in constant contact about what they were working on with Mori even contributing to the initial conceit of Berserk. Of all the people that would know the series it would be him. Also, Holyland is good. You're just a seething homosexual.
Whoa this is weird. I've never watched a single anime in my entire life and only decided to watch Berserk because I play alot of darksouls and this anime was a big inspiration apparently. Its actually kino and now I feel like I've missed out on tons of kino for my refusal to watch japanese cartoons
>Its actually kino and now I feel like I've missed out on tons of kino for my refusal to watch japanese cartoons
You haven't. Berserk is the pinnacle (maybe you should try Legend of the Galactic Heroes, for me it's to anime what Berserk is to manga). Also, read the manga because the manga is far superior to any adaptation of Berserk.
If you want more high level animekino, i would suggest The Legenf of the Galactic heroes.
It's basically like an anime telling the entire history of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but on a futuristic setting and with a lot of German-sounding names. Based on a 80s sci-fi novels series of a rather good success in asiaticland
it's a strong anti kawai tbh normie anime addict filter
>Is this Metokur guy in the room with us now, anon?
I mean, I think that maybe so. I literally wrote that. Can't you read? >Because by the look of it, it seems he lives rent free in your head
I think your definition of "rent free" is awfully vague
Cont.
But only search for the original OAV series made between the 80s and the 90s. In recent years they did a remake with gay zoomer modern art that it's not worth it
110 episodes of circa 25 minutes (biggest wall for new watchers, as it's kinda slow in the plot developed for people used to modern anime. Plus few optional OAV's
Of all the optional OAV's, "Overtune to a New War" is strongly recommended for new watchers. It's a expanded version of the first two episodes of the original series, with a much better pace (even the anime authors later admitted the first two episodes were so slow and full of info dumps that many new watchers had a rude first contact with the series)
I would suggest to new watchers to watch this specific OAV first. If you like it, you can start with the proper 110 saga episodes right at episode 3 (as i said, the OAV re-tell the plot of the first two episodes in a much better place, so the first two can be skipped by those who watched Overtune to a New War first)
If you didnt like Overtune instead, you can stop watching, because you are not gonna like the rest of the series
Here a torrent with both Overture and another of the optional OAV's ("Conquest is the Sea of Star"s is a short prequel with the first meeting of the two protagonists/rivals, as both mentioned to already fought the other in the very first episode)
I think the 3rd season can filter people out as well. Plot contrivances abound while the plot races to quickly displace the status quo. That and the FRICKING TERRAISTS.
Avoid all the links with "Die Neue These". It's the zoomer new adaptation.
The original 100 episodes saga and the few OAV tied to it never had an official english sub/dub, so there are a lot of different subbed versions as you can see
The links with the Central Anime subs are generally considered the "best" around. Almost all the meme pic uses these subtitles

. Being quite based and redpilled, no westener in the anglosphere decided to make an official sub/dub release for the original series, becuase it put autocratic goverments in a good light compared to cucked, corrupted democracies.
Instead the remake (Die Neueu These, still airing and incomplente) being zoomer garbage that simplify the entire plott (pic related in the remake is shortened up from ONE ENTIRE EPISODE to two minues, just to say "Rudolph bad") and puts the "right guys" (the supporters of democracy) as the "goodies" instead have an official eng release
Litterally not even the Free Planet Alliances (founded by refugees who escaped the Goldenbaum Empire) deny purging the cultural decadence of the old Human Space Federation was bad in the story.
They instead think a solution that didnt involved replacing a degenerate society with an autocratic empire could had been found with more patience, instead of letting a strongman solving all problems quickly
DNT loves cutting material, dolling up the female characters while hyping flashy visuals with mediocre music. The only positive aspect is seen in some minor scenes. Oh, and the Iserlohn takeover was more believable.
I like their idea of having Yang being a litterall nobody that emerged in the first battle out of pure chance (as his superior was injuried and he found himself as the commander of the fleet in the middle of the battle), instead of having Reinhard already knowing him before as an insanely talented commander kept in a low grade because of nepotism and corruption within the democratic army
But i still cant accept how badly they butchered Daddy Reuenthal's portrait

I like that Yang is more believable as military officer in this one. On the other hand the lack his signature goofbalness makes him less characterful.
I hoped that Ansbach avenging his master would be less derpy, but they gave him an EVEN BIGGER launcher. My sides were probably in Geiersburg's orbit.
Also Oberstein comes across as less archetypically machiavellan and just another pretty boy with more ruthless streak. His "evil eyes" also got somewhat downplayed.

The prequel stuff it's really hit or miss. Some even skip it (as Griffith acts very different from the rest of the manga, almost like he's out of character. The author likely didnt had yet a clear idea of how Griffith's character should had been).
The cool stuff (Golden Age arc) starts in the third volume. It may be possibilly one of the greatest single arc in the history of manga.
Berserk, a masterpiece of anime/manga culture. the entire Cinemaphile it's fold of it, so do not admit you dont know what it is that casually in any board, unless you want to get bullied. The entire site mourned the author's death one year ago

As good as a stopping point this is, without an actual ending the series is probably gonna be forgotten. People don't tend to pick up unfinished stories. If Mori manages to finish the story even half decently, it'll probably secure Berserk's legacy as the GOAT.
I don't think that's true with Berserk. Berserk is one of the big ones, even without and ending people would still recommend it and talk about it. Now the problem is what will happen with Mori's ending. If he does a good job nothing will change but if he fricks up Berserk is ruined forever. I don't think it will reach snk levels where is impossible to reread it but it will tarnished its reputation severely. I really liked that cliffhanger and I'm really skeptical about this but we'll see, let's just hope for the best, nobody wants to see Berserk being ruined.
The last chapter was pretty rough in places. The panelling and composition was clearly missing Miura's nuance and poise. I know that's a given but it does emphasize the decision to continue without him.
you have a pretty huge tolerance for bullshit if you don't think it's already impossible to re-read >nobody wants to see Berserk being ruined
o my laughing nen
it has been ruined. you're like some chump talking in 2022 about star wars. empire strikes back was good. golden age was good; but now they're both over. they're done. stop asking for more you idiot. if you desperately need more, then just fanfic up an ending for yourself
if that's not enough for you then question why you need the legitimacy of someone who didn't make the original to make an ending real to you.
let berserk die, like it should have died years ago. it doesnt need an ending. asking for one is only going to get you deeper in the prequel/sequel/dipshit moron territory. you got something good, treasure it and then clear some space so something new can be made in its place.
but you morons are just too fricking stupid to let something sit and inspire creativity. imagine if berserk fans were all busy creating manga or stories inspired by berserk instead of sitting around whining about how hard it is to beat a dead horse. sure there would be shit, but at least it would be new shit, and there would be the chance for something enjoyable. instead we just get whining and passionless creative bankruptcy. >lets just hope for the best
i'd say i hope someone trashes berserk so hard it cant recover, but looking at starwars i realize there's no point you can trash something to that lazy uncreative c**ts cant sink to

I agree with you. I just said I like the last chapter Miura did as an actual ending and that was good enough for me since I wasn't enjoying it recently. The only chapters I liked were the ones with SK dropping lore dumps. I was just trying to be "nice" since people are really sensitive about this topic and I'm tired of being called names when I spoke my mind about this.
I will not like what Mori does and I don't believe them when they say Miura had the ending already planned but never told anyone. I just read it so I can see where it fails and can criticize it adequately.
He reincarnated in a new mortal body during a convoluted ritual to trick humans into following him as some sort of promised savior figure. But he's still Femto and can return to his chinese bootleg Batman demon form any time he wants
>Why is this gay not femto anymore?
where did you stop reading? you do remember grifftit meating guts again at the field of swords right? when he was reborn he absorbed caska and guts demon child thing to have a new non god hand body that allows him to exist in the physical realm.
Red the Manga. Berserk never had a decent anime adaptation >Original 1997 anime cut a lot of key sub plots because of the limited time, like the Skull Knight, the dude that litterally saves Guts and Kaska during the Eclipse >Golden Age OAV trilogy cuts other key stuff, like Guts childhood (so litterally the entire first part of the manga arc >Both adaptations entirely cut the volume 11 of the manga >2016 3D series that got cancelled dosent even deserve to be mentioned
well this thread is turning into shit but for the anon who asked about some things to read or watch here are some good ones
gantz(overall fun manga, some dumbshit, but really few quite like it)
shigurui(anime is quite good and very short 10 eps, manga much longer and covers things not in the anime)
kingdom(if you liked golden age in berserk this should be up your alley though be warned the ride never ends)
claymore(not much to say on this one i liked it usually gets recommend to people who liked berserk has the monters hunting aspect)
Kingdom is good and I haven't read the second, but frick me Gantz is terrible.
I know you said it's dumb already, but it's also gratingly edgy, drawn like shit because the author loves his photo backgrounds and just plain nonsensical
So did the Skull Knight kill all these previous God Hand members? I get why he wants to kill Void now, he is the only remaining one who fricked him over.
It's not clear. Some thinks they get cyclically replaced. The current God Hand seems way too uncaring about him for him being the slayer of four former member
>So did the Skull Knight kill all these previous God Hand members?
skull hand cant seem to kill zodd which im sure berserker mode guts could. does he have a reason for not wrecking him? who knows. we see void use some kind of time/space space to abilty to evade his attack, femto has this too, it's likely they all do.
skull knight also said that he was trying to seal them away(current god hand) if he could kill previous makes no sense why he would want to seal current(maybe more than 5 cant exist at once?)
The only story from that series that made me feel something was the girl who made the costumes for all her teammates and knew she was going to have to leave her little sister behind.
>Turns in to generic DND fantasy
Yes I know puck was in the blackswordsman arc but it got to a point where it full on orcs and wizards. Also guts new crew is way too OP despite most of them being regular humans just like the band of the hawk was.
Still hurts that Miura is gone. I feel like ending it would have had a message that was quintessentially Berserk: things don't work out perfectly sometimes, but sometimes they work out well enough.
Berserk went downhill after the Eclipse
Does anyone actually thinks that anything past Golden Age is actually good?
Go to a for a big surprise.
>Go to Cinemaphile
Not thanks.
That place is the weirdest of the boards about interests I like
Cinemaphile is casual af, Cinemaphile is just angry contrarians, Cinemaphile doesn't have any good fitness advice beyond the sticky and Cinemaphile isn't filled with tumblr exiles.
Cinemaphile is just... weird man
>Cinemaphile is just angry contrarians
So is Cinemaphile for the most part I feel like.
>So is Cinemaphile for the most part I feel like.
Nah
Capeshit drops they all flock around to it, Cinemaphile poses as contrarian, Cinemaphile actually is.
There are people here who earnestly defend the prequels. This is contrarian city.
>There are people here who earnestly defend the prequels
Unfortunately That's not contrarianism anymore.
Zoom zooms that grew up and partake with the reddit memes all love them. Not helped build the fact that, even technically more accomplished, the Disney films are considerably worse because of their soullessness
Fricking Chris Stuckmann defends them now lol, it's not contrarian
The prequels are flawed masterpieces
Almost everyone agree it's stull great up to the Lost Children arc, and most are fine with adding the Tower of Convinction arc too
The Millenium Falcon is the best arc with the most kino moments, starting from the Hill of the Swords encounter. The ending still remains one of the best things i've seen in fiction
Saying it doesn't make it so. I've not heard one good argument for why anything post-Conviction is well written
There's no accounting for shit taste, pal.
Indeed. Someone would have to have pretty shit taste to think anything post-conviction was good.
Whether or not something compels you personally is one thing. But to say that you need an argument for why someone is well written means there's an assertion that it's poorly written, which must be established first. So you can't just say
>It's shit
And expect someone to tell you it's not in a scientific means. The only proper response to
>It's shit
Is,
>It's not. It's good.
Or,
>I like it.
Or
>It's awesome.
Something like that. But if you were to say
>It's shit because x, y, z, etc.
Then you would have the grounds to say
>I've never seen a good counterargument for this.
>It's a "burden of proof is on you" meme
You know what, it doesn't even matter. I can establish/demonstrate it's poorly written regardless
Then do it.
>The ending still remains one of the best things i've seen in fiction
I love the Fantasia Arc and nothing you can say will change that.
the Fantasia Arc is the reason your dad left
Yeah, most people you contrarian
How can be in a contrarian in some frickin manga barely anyone reads? There's contrarians within your contrarian community reading this instead of novels? Fricking hell you people are weird.
>manga read by millions
>no one read it
??
??????
Lost Children alone is amazing.
It's started the underage girls pedobait that plagued Miura's work
That one Rosine hentai was likely written by him
moronic take. Lost Children is awesome. Rosine turning into a jet bug is one of the craziest things I've seen in a manga and watching the medieval characters try and rationalize the supersonic boom of a jet engine was ridiculously hype.
This right here, folks. Even at its most "demented", Berserk is still capeshit at its core
Lost Children is based
That last arc in the island with the Harey potter witch roasties was garbage and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mori will be superior to late Miura
it's still better than most manga afterwards even though nothing compares to the golden age arc, well maybe lost children does. only FKMT manga can compare and that's a completely different genre so berserk is still the GOAT
>only FKMT manga can compare
You need to read the actual best manga ever written
which, according to you, is?
Objectively, Vagabond
Uhhhhh that's a strange way to spell Lone Wolf and Cub
I accept your pick of the second place
Unacceptable, I shall ask for permission to duel you from my lord
My respect for you would not allow me to take your life, but my honor would demand it
Since you seem to have good taste, care for any other recommendations?
My favourite mangas are LW&C and BLAME!
>My favourite mangas are LW&C and BLAME!
Sure, I'll check out that last one. Don't think I've ever heard of it and Wikipedia says it's sci-fi I like the genre
Ha I was asking for recommendations but I'm glad I managed to shill BLAME! to someone
>Ha I was asking for recommendations
Oh, I'm really pleb about what I read, since I don't actively search for it, I just go with what people recommend me, so it's very normies.
Stuff like Vagabond and Lone Wolf is because I really dig Medieval to Early Modern Japan
unfinished, can't be satisfying. maybe if you said 20th Century Boys i'd be inclined to agree...
Just read the book its based on or watch the movie adaptation of the book. The only thing left is the duel between Musashi and Sasaki.
Honestly, of you got the time and inclination, just read what you can of Eiji Yoshikawa
>unfinished, can't be satisfying.
Not an unfair point
>maybe if you said 20th Century Boys i'd be inclined to agree...
Never read it, is it that good?
First half of 20th Century Boys was alright but it always felt like half assed Stephen King. Post time skip was absolute garbage and you could tell the editor stopped giving a frick.
>First half of 20th Century Boys was alright but it always felt like half assed Stephen King
I mean, I hate Stephen King. That's like saying a film is a half assed Jeff Wadlow
Urasawa is a fricking hack so I'm not the least bit shocked
>Never read it, is it that good?
the story i don't know, there are probably better ones out there. but i always look for a certain atmosphere and 20th Century Boys is just what i am always looking for so it is very subjective. but either or, i would say it is definetly worth it . maybe you've seen monster, the manga is by the same guy. different but still, you can notice that both come from the same mind
Declines hard after Yoshioka Arc
Because there's less action and more reflection?
It's not an action manga, because that's not what Musashi's real life arc is
Golden Age is really overrated and the rest of the manga is much better. It's a shitty game of thrones with a kill em all ending and a couple good moments yet everyone treats it like its the best of the best in the manga world.
It's not the best manga in the world everyone with a brain recognizes that everything that came afterwards was lazy shit.
Lol no. Everything after is saved by good art, that's it.
agreed
I meant to say, "By some people." But forgot. Honestly? I think the people that say that just stopped reading around that moment.
>its literally just shit game of thrones without any magical elements
disagree with this though.
>No one that actually continued to read the manga considers golden age as peak
I have, and I do. Everything after Golden Age is just a slow, meandering decline with some good moments now and then. The art gets better for a while I guess, but even that takes an absolute nosedive when they get to the fairy island.
Its called a break in the action.
it's called filler
Filler implies repetitive action with nothing happen; episodes for the sake of filling space. A number of things have happened.
Why b***h though? This clearly isn’t what you like, wander away to something you do.
why respond to my post if you don't like it? just wander off into the wilderness
>its literally just shit game of thrones without any magical elements
what? zodd? wyld? the bariraka?
>its literally just shit game of thrones without any magical elements
>this manga is literally the best ever
>yeah half of it it's absolute shit
I wish he had wrapped it up.
>Griffin NTR guts
homie what
terrible, unironically too large scale
i can tell what kind of videogames you enjoy
>Guts becoming a ruler
never, ever write anything again in your life you fricking idiot
Theres some good moments like Griffith's resurrection. Really the issues of meandering and bloat don't catch up with the story until the boat, in which Berserk turns into total garbage.
Just like HxH
The Succession War is the best arc of HxH so I don't know what to tell you.
That you're a complete idiot who thinks an arc that still needs paragraphs of exposition just to set the plot up is good.
Sounds to me that you only got filtered. More interesting that whatever that shitty ants, outside of Mereum, were doing.
Did you also cream yourself for the paragraphs of the rules for a made up board game during the ant arc. If you didn't then you are a fake fan.
Kurapika is a shit MC
The shitty hiatus boat arc is the worst arc in HxH. Chimera ants it peak shonen.
it does drag on... because of the constant hiatus... lol
>Hiatus
Kek Togashi is effectively retired. His back is so fricked up it's a wonder that he can still stand.
Anybody that says "peak shounen" should have their opinion completely invalidated. What does that even mean? Shounen is not a genre you and it doesn't matter how many times you people repeat it.
And no, Chimera ants is not "peak shounen" is not even peak HxH. Everything between Kaito's death and the raid is fricking dogshit.
Its still not a good arc even when you're not reading it over the course of ten years. The fish island shit was the worst thing in Berserk by far.
so you guys stopped reading it?
Only regards.
>Ruins your manga
What a letdown, I thought Guts was gonna mentor him or some shit
Why the frick does Guts have a parade following him around anyway? Casca and Puck are fine. Witch girl is ok because shes sexy, but the rest are so fricking awful.
Because in FANTASIA you need a RPG party
>tank (Guts, by sacrificing HP he's also DPS)
>bard (Puck)
>thief (Isidoro or whatever.. monkey boy)
>dex DPS (wind sword guy)
>mage (Schierke)
>healer (Caska's babysitter)
>NPC guest (Caska)
You forgot hot titty mermaid
because guts cant handle looking after casca by himself. they literately explain this multiple times. did you even fricking read it?
Oh yes of course, monkey boy and mermaid girl are ESSENTIAL to Casca's well being.
the golden age was just average med evil crap without any outstanding quality, afterwards it gets good and actually starts implementing dark fantasy
Truth
Conviction Arc was great
the religious fanatics were pretty good.
Lost children was absolute kino. After that, yeah. Rpg group was terrible
This. Art-wise the manga mogs but narratively the anime knows exactly what to cut, ending where it did pretty much gave it the upper hand
Very true
after the eclipse stuff actually started to get really good, you idiots who dont know what you are talking about who only watch the anime and movies that stop right at the cuckening are emberassing
oh yeah stuff only really got good once the cavalcade of e-girls and shotas began tagging along
fricking hell
>hurr i am a moron and pretend berserk wasnt full of fan service and rape before durrr
fricking moron have a nice day
>berserk was full of e-girls and shotas before
but it wasn't, was it, moron?
If you strip the powers of the new members of the hawk band, they are very generic characters.
>y..you only like DBZ! and fights and stuff
no u
Lost Children and Conviction are better.
I havent read to that part yet I watched the anime first and its been a slow movement throguh chapter 1 thats been going on for at least two years now for me
My only gripe is their switch from pen and ink to digital, but I also like having more than 2 releases a year so it’s not a terrible tradeoff
Wrong board, this isnt Cinemaphile.
Cinemaphile is well aware of aforementioned kino. Cinemaphile needs to be enlightened
Cinemaphile hates it now, as the series is under the narrative control of a grftter hack that somehow fooled everyone into thinking Miura was his best friend and revealed the full story to him 20 or so years ago
Oh?
Redpill me on the new author's work
>Be Miura
>You dies
>Your team and publisher keep radio silence for almost a year because they dont know what to do no
>Enter Kouji Mori
>Friend (but not apparently THAT close) of Miura, failed seinen writer know for his half obscure works, mostly copied from Miura's (see pic)
>Decides to take the opportunity to gain something from his friend's dead corpse and shows up to Miura's team, claiming Miura decades ago asked for his help for few chapters of the Golden Arge
>In the days they worked together, apparently he revealed to him the entire main plot, and up to the last chapter wrote by him apparently he was still following loosley that original idea
>Nobody bats an eye, not even Miura's actuall assistants, that instead had no idea about the endgame because apaprently Miura never told them
>Everyone accept Mori as the savior, and the team just now released the first two chapters of the new "era" of Berserk, under Mori as main writer
>TFW he's a grifted that will raiload his life to wealth by fooling everyone into thinking is badly wrote fanfiction is the true ending planned by Miura
Shut the frick up Black person
Prove me i'm wrong. How in the hell Miura never told he had a clear vision of the ending to anyone aside him? And why he didnt tell that in the year of so between his friend's death and the recent chapters made under his direction?
Because you don't just up and finish your friend's life work the day after he passes. Giving it a year out of respect was enough time
You lash out like a israelite because you can't prove him wrong. Can't wait to see huntertards go through the same cope once he dies.
>implying I care about Shonen FOTM
I'm not denying they were friends. I doubt the claim that Miura never revealed to anybody aside him the entire plan for the plot. Not even his family or assistants. This sound shady at the very least
You are such a massive homosexual and I can't believe how deep in your delusions you are to write this shit post
What the frick does Holyland have to do with Berserk?
>Not that close of a friend
Didn't Miura let Mori crash at his place while his marriage was falling apart and were friends since highschool?
How do cucks cope with this truth?
i mean meh the "unfinished" ending we get on the islan is weirdly fitting and kinda works (on an island in which time basically doesnt pass, everything is peacful, everyone starts to heal and people can move past old grudges) so anyone is basically just waiting for the next stuff.. if its up to quality ok cool if not oh well.. the first two chapters so far arent much to go on.
How do you cope with the fact that if nobody told you Miura croaked you would have never guessed? The jRPG crap is already a massive departure from past Berserk.
At least get your facts straight before writing that gay shit.
Holyland is actually pretty good though, sounds like heavy cope
This is the most moronic f/a/ggot post I've ever seen. Miura and Mori were in constant contact about what they were working on with Mori even contributing to the initial conceit of Berserk. Of all the people that would know the series it would be him. Also, Holyland is good. You're just a seething homosexual.
for me this is the canon ending, it just makes too much sense
>he raped her for her sake
I'll remember that one for sure
I'm very optimistic about the new author. Before his death, Miura had obviously ran out of good ideas and was lackadaisically continuing the story.
>Miura
>planning
Do Nuserk fans really?
Anime is TV. Also its a lot better than the schlock we get today
Berserk is capeshit now.
>Cringezerk
>Lovecraftian
reddit moment
The 3d version's better.
said no one in the history of mankind
Everytime someone recommends Legend of the Galactic Heroes I always have a lingering suspicion that they're Metokur
Is this Metokur guy in the room with us now, anon?
Because by the look of it, it seems he lives rent free in your head
>Is this Metokur guy in the room with us now, anon?
I mean, I think that maybe so. I literally wrote that. Can't you read?
>Because by the look of it, it seems he lives rent free in your head
I think your definition of "rent free" is awfully vague
Yes, only Metokur likes that show. Fricking invalid.
He's the only one I know who really likes it and says it's favorite
>fricking invalid
Actually half-accurate.
Cont.
But only search for the original OAV series made between the 80s and the 90s. In recent years they did a remake with gay zoomer modern art that it's not worth it
How many episodes?

Meant for
my bad
I think the 3rd season can filter people out as well. Plot contrivances abound while the plot races to quickly displace the status quo. That and the FRICKING TERRAISTS.
It sounds like all filter, no gold
Where can I watch this?

Avoid all the links with "Die Neue These". It's the zoomer new adaptation.
The original 100 episodes saga and the few OAV tied to it never had an official english sub/dub, so there are a lot of different subbed versions as you can see
The links with the Central Anime subs are generally considered the "best" around. Almost all the meme pic uses these subtitles
What the frick am I meant to do with this?
Download one of the link?
Anyway, i'm gonna help you. For me, https://nyaa.si/view/1013436 it's a good download link
>Good subtitles
>Good compromise between good video quality without excessive GB's to download
Download that shit and enjoy the ride
I'm willing to bet the zoomzoom doesn't know what a torrent client is
download qbittorent first, or deluge
Why can't they just dub it to english if it's so great?
For modern western taste's is a pro militarism/dictatorship series that proves democracy is bad. The new remake instead it's cleary wrote with the goal of whitewashing the democratic side and blackwashing Reinhard and the empire side as much as possible
*and this is the reason the remake got an official english release, and the original instead not
Kircheis is pronounced as "Kirscheiss" in the new one. Fricking A.
>the entire OG series on lazerdisk and the movies were deleted off youtube, that other guy was right though this how is much better than berzerk.
REEEEE
What streaming is this shit on? Looks kino
I posted a Torrents site here
>Finally, a based and redpilled anime for me!
How does LoGH have anything to do with romance of the three kingdoms
Did the vaccine kill Miura?
Maybe the only good anime (show, not movie), I should check out LOTGH since it looks up my alley too. Eva is trash
Berserk peaked with *that* schierke scene in the inn, you know the one
Wrong board
Time and time again we tell you to post this on the board literally created for it but yet you still can't get it through your thick fricking skull.
I don't get it
Why is Cinemaphile in the pic?
/co/?
Yeah.
Sure, trannies like anime, so does the guy that created this board.
Trannies like rpgs and music too
But how many gays, trannies and gays you see in cartoons, both on and behind the screens, compared to anime
Alot, they just don't call it troonys. They call it futa, genderbender or some other derivative that easily confounds your juvenile mind.
>They call it futa, genderbender or some other derivative that easily confounds your juvenile mind.
The only one I can think of Ranma. And that's written by a woman and it's only sorta genderbent.
Can you name me a troony manga author?
Saga of Tanya? I don't even watch tranime and I know this one.
>Saga of Tanya?
Pretty sure it's written by a guy.
And you got what, two kinda examples in 30 something years?
>Pretty sure it's written by a guy
Being written by a guy excuses it from having an MtF MC? Also Google is your friend.
>Being written by a guy excuses it from having an MtF MC?
No, it means you can't answer my query
>pic
I only know one of those, which is the My Hero guy and he's not only minor, but I'm pretty sure he's a stealth jap joke against Thailand, because he's a buff dude who did sex surgery in Bangkok
Again, not only is it pretty weak, but that's very small when compared to cartoons or even film and tv
>It wasn't written by an open troon therefore its okay even though the show is about a troon.
Are you serious?
>I only know one of those
Once again Google is your friend. (Note how the previous list was a top 10 list and not a total list)
>Are you serious?
Are you? Why do you keep dodging the question?
>Once again Google is your friend
And also dodging what I pointed out. Hoe much do you bet that there's more trannies, gays and whatnot in films and television than there are in anime and manga?
>Are you? Why do you keep dodging the question?
What question?
>And also dodging what I pointed out. Hoe much do you bet that there's more trannies, gays and whatnot in films and television than there are in anime and manga?
I never stated there wasn't. My problem with anime is that everybody gobbles it up like the people they call marveldrones and yet it contains the same message.
>What question?
How many authors are trannies or gays in manga? Specially when compared to cartoons or tv?
>My problem with anime is that everybody gobbles it up like the people they call marveldrones and yet it contains the same message.
What does that have to with the gays and the trannies? And they're not really comparable. It's a medium not a genre
>How many authors are trannies or gays in manga? Specially when compared to cartoons or tv?
Are you a israelite? Why would it matter what the author is? There are plenty of "straight" ~~*white*~~ "males" in Hollywood putting out troonshit does that make it okay?
>What does that have to with the gays and the trannies? And they're not really comparable.
They're pushing the same message as Hollywood troonshit.
>It's a medium not a genre
Yeah, it's a medium that belongs on Wrong board
>Are you a israelite?
Are you? Awfully fricking defensive of their industry
>Why would it matter what the author is?
>Why does it matter if the author is a gay or a troony
>There are plenty of "straight" ~~*white*~~ "males" in Hollywood putting out troonshit does that make it okay?
Are you now gonna pretend they're not putting troon actors and troon consultants and saying how important their representation is?
>Are you? Awfully fricking defensive of their industry
Defensive? I'm defensive of the medium I enjoy, Cinemaphile. I think most tv shows are trash too but this is the television and films board. You don't see me start Cinemaphile threads on Cinemaphile do you?
>Are you now gonna pretend they're not putting troon actors and troon consultants and saying how important their representation is?
Where did I say that?
>You don't see me start Cinemaphile threads on Cinemaphile do you?
So this has nothing to do with trannies or gays, it's just you whining about off board threads? Report it to the jannies if it bothers you so much
>Where did I say that?
When you pretended that isn't a big deal when compared to trannie using anime as profile pictures
>So this has nothing to do with trannies or gays, it's just you whining about off board threads? Report it to the jannies if it bothers you so much
I was pointing out that their is a better place to put your troon trash. Like I said I don't go to Cinemaphile because I have no interest in tranime yet I have to see it on Cinemaphile
>When you pretended that isn't a big deal when compared to trannie using anime as profile pictures
When did I say it wasn't a big deal? I literally said that most shows today are trash.
>I was pointing out that their is a better place to put your troon trash
So yes.
>When did I say it wasn't a big deal?
You're gonna make type the same thing twice?
Yes, why Cinemaphilemblr indeed
all of Cinemaphile was created for it. seethe.
>hurr Berserk ain’t been good since the Eclipse
>hurr everything is too funny now, why isn’t Berserk edgy and grim 24/7
>hurr new stuff is fanfiction, I do not recognize this
>hurr Miura is dead so the comic should be but Miura was also a moehomosexual towards the end so most of his actual work isn’t canon either
homosexuals.
/tv/- anime and manga
Why don't people lift?
Not even heavy or whatever, do some pushups and crunches in your home, run around the block
Jesus, I'm crippled in my left leg and I'm in better shape than these blobs
why should they? there is nothing to gain from doing so
>nothing to gain from being more healthy, more active, more attractive and stronger
Contemplate the aroma on the Tree of Woe.
>the average Cinemaphile users
i started reading this shit on my kindle and i really liked the first part but its been prequel shit about his origins for two books now and im bored out of my mind. when does it pick up again?
I think Marvel movies might be more your speed bud
step down from your horse were talking about tranime
The prequel stuff it's really hit or miss. Some even skip it (as Griffith acts very different from the rest of the manga, almost like he's out of character. The author likely didnt had yet a clear idea of how Griffith's character should had been).
The cool stuff (Golden Age arc) starts in the third volume. It may be possibilly one of the greatest single arc in the history of manga.
Fricking hell
sorry for being an ignorant anon, but what is this?
Berserk, a masterpiece of anime/manga culture. the entire Cinemaphile it's fold of it, so do not admit you dont know what it is that casually in any board, unless you want to get bullied. The entire site mourned the author's death one year ago
(My sword is in the memorial as well)
ty i will promise to never be bully-able again
did he finish it before he died? does it end with a cliffhanger?
Nope, unfinished. Last chapter wrote by him ends on a suprising good cliffhager to end the "true" Berserk. Likely accidental but still impressive
That was a perfect unfinished ending. It could go so many ways and I bet most of them would've been better that what we are gonna get. A shame that they are going to rape Berserk's and Miura's corpse like this, but that's what happens when you have everyone and their mother recommend it to fricking everyone and turned it into the most normie shit ever. As long as they don't approach my Vagabond everything will be all right.
As good as a stopping point this is, without an actual ending the series is probably gonna be forgotten. People don't tend to pick up unfinished stories. If Mori manages to finish the story even half decently, it'll probably secure Berserk's legacy as the GOAT.
GOT pretty much proved than not having an ending is better than having an extremelly shitty, fanfic tier one that ruins the entire of the saga.
I know that's a given but it does emphasize the decision to continue without him.
you have a pretty huge tolerance for bullshit if you don't think it's already impossible to re-read
>nobody wants to see Berserk being ruined
o my laughing nen
it has been ruined. you're like some chump talking in 2022 about star wars. empire strikes back was good. golden age was good; but now they're both over. they're done. stop asking for more you idiot. if you desperately need more, then just fanfic up an ending for yourself
if that's not enough for you then question why you need the legitimacy of someone who didn't make the original to make an ending real to you.
let berserk die, like it should have died years ago. it doesnt need an ending. asking for one is only going to get you deeper in the prequel/sequel/dipshit moron territory. you got something good, treasure it and then clear some space so something new can be made in its place.
but you morons are just too fricking stupid to let something sit and inspire creativity. imagine if berserk fans were all busy creating manga or stories inspired by berserk instead of sitting around whining about how hard it is to beat a dead horse. sure there would be shit, but at least it would be new shit, and there would be the chance for something enjoyable. instead we just get whining and passionless creative bankruptcy.
>lets just hope for the best
i'd say i hope someone trashes berserk so hard it cant recover, but looking at starwars i realize there's no point you can trash something to that lazy uncreative c**ts cant sink to
I agree with you.
Why is this gay not femto anymore?
He is still Femto but he got a new body so he could pass as the Hawk of Light or something like that.
Seriously why couldn't you guys make this thread on Cinemaphile?
Berserk it's a treasure that belong to all boards, newfriend. It's usually allowed to talk about almost everywhere
Y'all should watch Bastard! (Newnime on netflix rn) it's based and Miura was inspired from it
Yeah but why Cinemaphile instead of Cinemaphile?
I fricking hated rurouni kenshin
See, the problem with that anime is that only one season is good and the rest is ass
let alone the fact that it was just like GoT and the lardass creator never completed it because he was busy jerking to pokemon
How did japs manage to capture the essenca of a israelite so well?
>Hadrian Rubin~~*SKY*~~
There is no way this wasnt intentional. His greatest rival is even a militaristic blonde dude with a german name
>SKY
Rubin/Ruben is more israeli
poor horse :,(
careful anon it might be one of those rape horses
Griffith did nothing wrong.
He did one thing wrong - he didn't rape Guts after Casca
how do I get into Berserk? Already watched the anime
Just read the manga from chapter 1 and you're good to go.
Red the Manga. Berserk never had a decent anime adaptation
>Original 1997 anime cut a lot of key sub plots because of the limited time, like the Skull Knight, the dude that litterally saves Guts and Kaska during the Eclipse
>Golden Age OAV trilogy cuts other key stuff, like Guts childhood (so litterally the entire first part of the manga arc
>Both adaptations entirely cut the volume 11 of the manga
>2016 3D series that got cancelled dosent even deserve to be mentioned
The manga is superior in pretty much any way
well this thread is turning into shit but for the anon who asked about some things to read or watch here are some good ones
gantz(overall fun manga, some dumbshit, but really few quite like it)
shigurui(anime is quite good and very short 10 eps, manga much longer and covers things not in the anime)
kingdom(if you liked golden age in berserk this should be up your alley though be warned the ride never ends)
claymore(not much to say on this one i liked it usually gets recommend to people who liked berserk has the monters hunting aspect)
Kingdom is good and I haven't read the second, but frick me Gantz is terrible.
I know you said it's dumb already, but it's also gratingly edgy, drawn like shit because the author loves his photo backgrounds and just plain nonsensical
Blackface school shooting redeems it.
anyone got some oneshot images that made you read a manga?
So did the Skull Knight kill all these previous God Hand members? I get why he wants to kill Void now, he is the only remaining one who fricked him over.
It's not clear. Some thinks they get cyclically replaced. The current God Hand seems way too uncaring about him for him being the slayer of four former member
Maybe Void is hiding the fact from them.
We will never know since anything going forward is just the new writers headcanon.
No one likes you.
Your mom says otherwise weeb.
The ending of Millennium Falcon is kino.
The only story from that series that made me feel something was the girl who made the costumes for all her teammates and knew she was going to have to leave her little sister behind.
what made me read this one was someone posting the anime's intro
sad storee dawg
watch anime
I can change her
My friends have absolutely dogshit taste in manga and anime and I don't understand, how could someone like things like dragon maid?
Big breasts
I like the engrish song
>Turns in to generic DND fantasy
Yes I know puck was in the blackswordsman arc but it got to a point where it full on orcs and wizards. Also guts new crew is way too OP despite most of them being regular humans just like the band of the hawk was.
beserk is some gay jap tranime bull shit
but the western movie that inspired it is pretty good.
Trying way tool hard to fit in.
can you really call berserk lovecraftian when all the demons are originally human. I don't think there's a single alien entity in that verse.
yes
Still hurts that Miura is gone. I feel like ending it would have had a message that was quintessentially Berserk: things don't work out perfectly sometimes, but sometimes they work out well enough.
