Because everyone is miserable all the time on that show and they have low morals and there's constant screaming. It's just a family with no control in the midst of falling apart. This is supposed to be "comfy"? I think not.

If you were 25+ during the airing of the 1st season I get why you would say this.
The show is aimed at poor suburbanites so if you are older i can see why you wouldnt like the show. Still it was a fun show.
I’ve seen a handful of episodes or parts of episodes of Friends and The Office at other people’s apartments and I have nothing bad to say about those shows, I might of even laughed a few times. But I won’t watch those shows because I don’t want to be categorized as a person that watches Friends or The Office.
i loved seinfeld too and the closest thing to it is curb your enthusiasm. its good and sometimes even better than seinfeld, not overall you know, but it has its moments
I just watch Seinfeld on loop. its the perfect show and they are all my best friends. I think about how i'd engage with the gang and make up my own lines when im watching scenes so i can join in on the banter

Curb, obviously. You might also like Peep Show.
Downtown
Watch Seinfeld again
Stargate SG1
I watched this recently and thought it was mid. Comfy moments, but nothing close to Seinfeld or Simpsons
Malcom in the middle?
Not OP but I never really liked that show. Maybe too old for it, it just felt like it was hyping up the unhappy dirty low ethic white household to me.
Why would you feel such a way?
Because everyone is miserable all the time on that show and they have low morals and there's constant screaming. It's just a family with no control in the midst of falling apart. This is supposed to be "comfy"? I think not.

Married with Children is low brow kino.
>I never really liked that show.
Same. It seemed alright when I caught it on tv but I just couldn't stand Malcolm's actor.
yeah loved MitM when I was a kid, but as an adult, I found it too obnoxious to enjoy
It has its charm for sure
Yes to Curb, but Friends has zero appeal except looking at Jen/Courtney
twin peaks
Friends and Curb are both comfy
>Friends
Outside of staring at Courtney and Jennifer I never saw the appeal.

The original Night Court holds up surprisingly well. I watched a half dozen episodes recently and found myself unironically laughing out loud.
Night Court, Barney Miller and WKRP are all comfy af.

Duckman
The greatest sitcom that is virtually never discussed here

Two and a Half Men is peak comfy.
The Office (UK version), or early seasons of the US version. Curb your Enthusiasm and South Park too.
