>hollywood losing
humanity is healing
It's not dead, one of the studios will probably give him the money to do it (with a generous Australian tax credit of course)
Nobody wants to watch the same movie for the 15th time
Why not just make mad max 5? If it's a preeyel there's no tension because we already know who lives and dies.
It's not like the world was any different in the setting in Furiosa than it was in Fury Road. What's the appeal of doing a prequel?
No Gibsony, no watchy.
It's moronic because Max became Mad when they killed his wife and kid. Furiousa who grows up in paradise is just called that at birth. Stupid frickin scenes of kids wandering in the garden of eden calling out the name "Hey, TragicDeathHateRevengeLord" as one of their born names
Mad Max 1 is super underrated.
Fury Road > 1 = 2 > 3
I’m a fan of all of them, but I have no interest in seeing Furiosa. I can tell it’s a lame misfire from a mile away
People always say I'm trolling but this is exactly me. Not sure if I like 1 the best or it's just that I saw number two and three so many times that number 1 still feels fresh but even after watching number one a few dozen times I keep going back to it.
2 >>>>>>>>>>>>> 4 >>> 1 >>>>>>> 5 >>>>>>>>>>>> 3
that movie looks like a student film, The Road Warrior is the best of the bunch by far (and Cinemaphile owes me like 20 bucks for telling me Fury Road was good so went out and bought the bluray before I ever even saw that garbage)
It's pure kino.
Do a actual sequel to Thunderdome set decades later. The kid from Road Warrior is supposed to become a great leader. I would rather see something about what kind of society is formed long after the end of world.
cringe
the further you go from a disaster the more reddit it is
Making a prequel also ruins the mythic tone of the series. Every choice Miller has made about Furiosa has been a bad one. She is his siren song.
I guess mostly because Miller ended up writing so much stuff about the charcaters, he wanted to bring at least some of that to a screen. And partly, I bet, he just wanted the series to be about more characters than just Max.
Because Gibson wouldn't be in it, which means they'd have to do some all female reboot or some other woke fantasy. Which would also bomb hard. The industry is backed into a corner now, with no way out
No one cares about movies anymore. Movies and tv only exist so people can make sigma edits of them for tiktok.
>How the holy heck is that?
Wouldn't it be funny if Furiosa lost to a lazy orange cat that likes lasagna?
From my gleanings at my fandango Garfield showings were fuller than furiosa showings last night
Do anons not understand that this movie is a make-work job project for regional australians by the government? There's nothing but ice (meth) to do out in these towns so they were keen to spend the grant money on the movie to make some work out there, try to get some production people spending at local businesses selling coffee etc. They don't give a frick if the movie sells tickets they (the govt) aren't going to get that money. And George doesn't give a frick either he's got his portion of the grant in his pocket.
This movie exists because the mad max story happens to be set in that part of the world, not because anyone wanted to see a furiosa road prequel
Ok, doesn't change the fact it's bombing lol
sure, i'm just responding to the people who are bemused like "who did they think wanted to watch this?" they know nobody did
MaxBros, we beat Return of the Jedi!
>Garfield movie "clawing"
Why do they do this bros? It's fricking stupid.
Adding extra stuff to a cat movie? Thats quire a yarn.
Looks it's Monday for this flabby tabby according to early box office reports!
>it let out more of a purr than a roar this Memorial day weekend!
>looks like this cat is out of the mixed bag, and is getting a stinky fish corpse of a box office return!
do you think Furiosa is bombing because of woke politics, or do you think it's bombing because people can't afford a spaghetti dinner in Biden's economy, much less a $30 movie ticket?
Economics has nothing to do with it. People have endless streaming options, the pandemic and lockdowns solidified this trend. Men don’t want to watch this movie because they think it’s woke. Women don’t care about action movies, much less one based around CARS. Not to mention the wanton “patriarchal” undertones of the Mad Max world, with rampant sexual violence and sexual slavery. Most women don’t wanna watch that. That’s it
>with rampant sexual violence and sexual slavery. Most women don’t wanna watch that.
might be the most virginal post i've seen in a while
He’s mostly right. Although those elements are a positive
He's right that women have no interest in this girl boss action movie about cars insofar as they prefer stories about mate selection, but that doesn't exclude the other things. Quite the opposite.
>Not to mention the wanton “patriarchal” undertones of the Mad Max world
Women liked The Handmaids Tale though
It’s an obvious bashing of the “patriarchy” and was a cathartic watch for lefty women and wine moms while Trump was president

>Tfw it's pre-2009
>Can go to the movies, get a popcorn and soda every weekend for a reasonable cost
>Cheap and easy activity to do with friends or girls
I feel bad for zoomers and alphas. They will never know what it's like to easily go to the movie theater without feeling like you have to sell a kidney to watch the newest marvel slop
>garfield budget 60M
garfieldbros, we are eating GOOD
Good.
FRICK THE israeliteS AND THEIR GLOBOhomosexual PROPAGANDA MACHINE
he's real 🙂
how could this happen, furiosa bros?
we even had kojima shilling for us.
jannies could you move this thread to the twitter board, this isn't made for us
Awful. Worse than the worst tracking scenarios. Hollywood is in very serious trouble and it's likely to keep falling down because the audiences worldwide lost interest.
>Lowest Memorial Day Weekend opening in 41 years.
Miller should have hung up his director's cap after Fury Road and gone to frick trannies till his death
>post-apocalyptic anya or hip hop garfield
so many choices
Lmfao
>No one wants to see a female action reboot
>No one wants to see another fricking garfield movie
Who would have thought?
>George Miller must be Mad as Furiosa doesn't make the Max amount of profit
>George Miller visibly Mad as Mad Max 5 hits Max three weeks after premiere
I miss 90s headlines.
kek all they had to do for guaranteed $$ was have Anya show a little skin and she couldn't be more uglified and covered up. she's only known for being frickable and they ruined her entire appeal.
ummm this is FAKE NEWS chud it's actually the #1 opening movie EVER with a female lead on a friday with the 5th movie in a franchise FACTT
Kingdom of the apes should have done MDW instead
Just because of this thread I’m going to see it tomorrow night to give it a $20 boost
>I'm gonna spend money to try to change the worlds view in cinema
Bahahaha
No you're not. You have no job and no money. Go watch your anime homosexual.
Uhm misogynist chuds ... Mad Max has always been a niche franchise mkay?
Also the weather was warm
It was Mad Max and Road Warrior were both cult movies, RW did much better but it still was a low budget violent post apocalyptic movie with zero romance. That was back in 1981 or so. They were very influential, but still niche.
>with zero romance
Bro if i want to see a future that is way worse than things had been and no romance ill just live my life
>why isn't this action movie starring a waifish woman drawing money?
If Garfield beats Furiosa, I will boot stomp the first orange cat I see
Is Chris Pratt voicing Garfield? Didn't he voice Mario? Seems like a conflict.
Theaters should just be allowed to play whatever movies they want and not have to pay anything other than the initial cost of the digital download
Meanwhile low-budget horror films keep making a killing (no pun intended).
Get with the times, Georgepa.
Do they? None of them are in the current box office top 10 for 2024
horror can be made on a shoestring budget and so tends to do fairly profitable compared to the amount of money that goes into them and there is always the possibility of blowing up like the Blair Witch Project and making a ton of cash.
Horror just sort of semi disappeared for awhile because the big tentpoles dominated for most of the last two decades. People are just noticing now because its the only genre that can be made quickly without much risk of a loss.
I mean I think there's a difference between making 35 on a budget of 15 and making a killing. The margins are low on horror. And Blair Witch was 25 years ago. Do you know the last time a cheap/low budget horror movie was in the top 10 for worldwide gross?
The budgets are so low that they don't have to be in the top-10 worldwide. Five Nights at Freddy's cost 20 million and made 300 million.
>Casting for: Voice acting role, cartoon cat
>Accepting: Mr Universe muscle-men with 10/10 looks and hairline. Apply now!
why do they keep doing this
Who was this movie made for?
>mad max without max
>unappealing female lead
Fury Road didn't really find a huge audience either and it was much better. These movies don't have wide appeal outside of internet forums
>IP
>franchise
>prequel
>CGI
>stronk female lead
INTO THE TRASH IT GOES
CHUDS RUN HOLLYWOOD 2.0
Furiosa isn't really the lead, Hemsworth has way more speaking parts. It's his movie
People can no longer afford movie tickets because of joe bidenomics.
>GG George, hope you felt it was worth it.
I'm really disappointed with George Miller, who either bought into woketardation or was brainwashed into it because the Mad Max-verse could have been a thing but now it won't be because it's become shit.
I've only seen Thunderdome. If I want to watch Mad Max, I have options.
why didnt they jsut do a hand drawn garfield movie?
>feminist remake of classic toxic masculinity film
>shitty CGI Garfield movie (2D animated show was based) and Chris Pratt now does the voice of all animated main characters and sounds like Chris Pratt in all of them
How long till Pratt plays Mad Max?
In the Furiosa sequel (he voices Furiosa)
>Lowest Memorial Day Weekend opening in 41 years.
The upcoming trailers looked like shit
Joker: gay as frick
Twisters: CGI mess
Deadpool/Wolverine: Looks extremely unfunny and tryhard cringe
RIP to Hollywood on Memorial Day
>Lowest Memorial Day Weekend opening in 41 years
...and fricked up the ass by GARFIELD. It's literally OVER, MaxBros
>cgi bulshit
no hand-drawn no care
We should go out and support our man Garfield.
No rapes in the last one, felt like a disney ride not post-apocalypse.
Frick Hollywood and frick all these stars with 0 star power they keep pushing
literal boomers were holding up the theatrical film format because ite reminded them of the 1950s
