There are a ton of “avengers” now so many in fact that there are way too fricking many. For example there are currently 5 Ant-Men. Ant man himself, his wife, their daughter, both his wife’s parents can shrink and have shrinking gizmos.

It's a bit more fricked up. Mark Millar told the artist to draw Nick Fury as Sam Jackson. Sam Jackson found out and in lieu of suing Marvel for using his likeness, he asked if he could play the role in a film.
Meanwhile Millar did the same thing with having them draw Eminem in Wanted and that ended up in a lawsuit settled out of court.

Why would you want to? People were already pretty disappointed when they used a less familiar Thanos for Endgame. This is just the same on a larger scale with an even worse lineup of Avengers.

You can't really top that. It wasn't just the avengers, it was every marvel character introduced to that point. Everybody had a moment. The only downside, as you said, was that Thanos was lame.
