STAY WITH MEEEEEEEEEEEE
kpop already mogged jpop for some reason
different moods, different aesthetics. music isn't a dick measuring contest.
IT IS
Normies
You are the normalgay, normalgay.
This isn't jpop, smelly Black person. Completely different genres.
why is jpop not popular anymore on Cinemaphile
probably because /jp/ and Cinemaphile exist and most discussion of jap/anime music gets discussed there
Do you mean jpop or idol music, those are two different things. Jpop is still popular, albeit kpop is more popular now. Idol music, was never really all that popular except for some specific songs. Even in Japan idols seem to be a niche for otakus, which kind of makes me wonder why girls even wanna be idols.
>Even in Japan idols seem to be a niche for otakus, which kind of makes me wonder why girls even wanna be idols.
I was also mystified by it. But there are actually many girls who are sympathetic to idol culture and enjoy everything BUT the actual fan culture side of it (e.g. they like to discuss the outfits idols wore), most notably those who want to become idols. Notably you mainly hang around other idol girls if you are an idol yourself, it's not like you are thrown into the otaku shark tank all by yourself.
Are they lesbos? There is a lot of yuri fanbait in the idol scene, do they see that and say yeah i wanna be surrounded by cute girls like them?
>i’m supposed to believe these artificially manufucted soulless plastic mannequins are better than soulful 80’s jpop made with hard work, passion and some genuine talent for some reason
seriously?
whats the good jpop from this year though
?si=2n0jfV9w84nZVYLc
Few years old but I like this one
>jpop made with hard work, passion and some genuine talent for some reason
lmao it's not because the manufacture process is less polished and professional that it means it has S0ul, it's just as artificial but shittier
I think 1 key difference between pre2000s and post2000s when it comes to that type of thing is these countries were largely making entertainment media stuff for their own people/population but in more recent years everyone's trying to make stuff in hopes that it becomes a hit overseas
In the 80s you'd have said the same and referred to dadrock as the good example. Dadrock, again, is not as organic as you think, just like city pop; and Kpop is not as inorganic as you think.
You are just an old fart.
>Dadrock, again, is not as organic as you think
Funny that boomers shit on pop music when hard rock was pretty much pop with guitars
They spit this shit at unbelieveable pace, plus with asiatic country sponsoring their propaganda directly. Also Kim Jong-Un latest song mogs all Kpop song
I've taken a few glances at kslop stuff a few times in the past 15 years and so much of it seems like stuff that America and Japan was already doing like 25 years ago
>What if Backstreet Boys or Nsync except for girls
I don't trust the view*botted numbers either - anything that gets popular on the commercialized internet of the past 15+ years is kind of suspicious
>>What if Backstreet Boys or Nsync except for girls
Spice Girls?
Basically yeah, there was the boyband fad/trend and there was girlbands too but they kind of went away before the 00s were over
kawaii metal mogs both
Naw the Japanese actually know music like can play instruments, write scores and sing meanwhile bug people Parkoreans don’t even know how to dance and move like fricking robots frick off liking Kshitters.
this. all south koreans know how to do is copy and paste japan and western wiggers
This was the case -- until Yoasobi changed everything
kpop outside of SNSD is flat out garbage. jpop talent is vast
True, just like how j-rock mogged k-rock
jpop is shit now and kpop has always been shit. But at least it's not yuck people music.
>gaygier boy bands vs soft rock and jazz
not even comparable
J-Rock>J-Pop>>me taking a fat steamy shit>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
lot of japchuds seething and k-chads
Dude why and HOW the frick did that happen? I think it's a psyop
i love jpop so much its unreal
literally mass produced SOVLESS slop vs timeless SOVL
>OP is a homosexual
>posts the same OP on every board
Any film that gives you city pop vibes ?
Solaris
I only read the book, and heard the film is kino but despised by the author, is it good?
Solanin
Western city pop was kino too
>grotesque futuristic, diseased japanese man
>wails with metal rods and plates all in his face
>this plays in the background https://youtu.be/cwW5U-kI-Y0?feature=shared
Gaijin-kun, you have 3 seconds to name 1 of my other songs besides Plastic Love
Plastic Hate
>BAY CITY
?si=HZgc111tGhqZrqDO
>Come out of retirement to make the Pokemon Concierge theme song.
jackie chan
>mfw I got all this sushi from Japan but all the girls just wanna kick it like Jackie Chan
the whole album
This, kino record. My summer and tropical vacation playlists feature a lot of Japanese music from the 80s and 90s, really suits the vibe.
Based. Big Wave (1984) is documentary kino.
Also nice
DIM SIM CHING CHONG
September, Let's Get Married and uhhh. Honestly I have no idea, I got her entire discography downloaded but I never look at the song names when I listen to her music.
I like this better than Plastic Love.
Plastic Beach
Eki
COUNT WHAT YOU HAVE NOW
DON'T COUNT WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE
>character enters tokyo nightclub
>bulldozed to death by Hanatarash
[Open]
>visit Japan
>Japanese Math Rock starts playing
for me its her husband's kino music
forgot to post the link
Oh frick yeah, we're soft rocking tonight, boys.
The godfather of City Pop. He didn't make a bad song across so many albums
sucks that it's basically impossible to find his music online because he's a boomer who hates technology and streaming services
SOMETHING SOMETHING PRASTIC ROOOOOOOOVE
what music plays when they go to korea?
IM SORRY BUT ITS FAKE LOVE
FAKE LOVE
FAKE LOVE
BANGER ALERT
?si=5HlrxUxkdgwKiq5_
kino bass line
the only kpop that i listen to
>main character visits Paris
>'Ca plane pour moi' starts playing
>character visits french countryside
>character visits paris
>westerner characters arrive in Japan for a funfilled trip
>I THINK I'M TURNING JAPANESE I THINK I'M TURNING JAPANESE I REALLY THINK SO
if only she did this music video back when she did Interview with the vampire
kirsten dunce is fakken ugly m8
>the song is actually about masturbation
Ironically it still fits.
i live in tokyo and basically i'm in a state of euphoric ecstasy every day
sounds like a fetish
i live in tokyo and i have a big booba jp gf
why because you look like the jolly green giant over there and all the japs look like liliputians?
City pop is just Steely Dan but somehow even more overproduced.
Nah, Steely Dan sucks.
I only listen to Hatsune Miku and some SEGA soundtracks on Spotify.
not even weebs think modern jpop is good
they will just listen to anime songs
>tfw plastic love wasn't popular in japan at all
every japanese person i've spoken to has never heard of it
They didn't even like City Pop that much apparently. I have no idea what kind of things Japs even like.
is korea anything other than japan-lite?
it just seems like japan except more shallow, materialistic, and soulless
you got it all figured out
the people are more racist
>More materialistic than Japan
how
nta but at least the nips have some sovl with their cool temples and ancient ruins.
the mainland bugs are run by cult leaders who overtly seek material gain above all else.
>main character parks their e-bike near a charger
starts playing
>main character likes bass
Would you rather be a eta* or korean?
Seppuku is not an option
>corpse handler*
love me seiko
Modern citypop is pretty good.
Nips at least are more creative and talented than asiatics.
China on the other hand seems still stuck in 90s-00s.
Their music scene sounds outdated compared to Japan or Korea.
For me, it's Lamp.

>Enter bathroom
>Sit on toilet and take pants down
>Soulja boy starts playing
VA-11 H4LL-A
>Uncle was in the Korean war and became a schizo from hard drugs after the war.
>He would rotate houses in our family because everyone that hosted him needed a break.
>Listening the Plastic Love while on my PC
>Uncle slams his way into my room red in the face
>"NI NI NI CHING CHONG asiatic! THATS ALL THEY'RE FRICKING SAYING! TURN THAT MOTHER FRICKER OFF SHOULD'A SET FIRE TO EVERY ONE OF EM! MOTHERFRICKER!"
>Proceeds to rip the speakers out of my PC before stomping on them
>Went back to his room and started to listen to CCR.
>Cinemaphile has better music taste than Cinemaphile
>Cinemaphile has better movie taste than Cinemaphile
Any other examples?
>/lgbt/ has better vidya taste, and is less gay than Cinemaphile
>/bant/ is generally better than /b/
curb stomp/roundhouse kick/chokeslam etc. all Cinemaphilegays though
Cinemaphile is unironically the gayest board.
Every board has produced music for different things, the Cinemaphile songs were all the worst bar none.
Has any movie used city pop? Its kind of crazy, its popular and no one seems to use it. On the other hand, i know Japan is super autistic with copyright, so maybe thats why
>Enter elderly home
>Hear lyrics: "if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life.."
literally the best city pop album and no one talks about it
>Spy character goes to Moscow
>Russian national anthem sung by men’s choir starts
Make way, plebs.
based my music taste is also just youtube recommendations
Plastic Love sucks, it's a boring generic song that is only popular because in a youtube video there was a picture of the girl looking cute
That picture could have been attached to any random song and it would have gone viral
If I played you 3 random Japanese songs you couldn't be able to tell me which one is Plastic Love without cheating
>I don't like thing therefore no one else does either!
Dishonest troony
We both know you just like the picture
>makes up scenarios so he's right
moron, people like the song and the city pop genre in general, as seen in this thread
groovy
better choreography than the rat's star wars flicks
i bought a bunch of city pop / japanese aor records and cds like 8 years ago
i dont think ive listened to them in years at this point but i hate selling music shit
>that 2015-2016 feel
>getting city pop recommendations on YT while setting up the new app called discord with friends....
take me back
