The first 2 Spongebob movies (didn't watch the third)
The Simpsons movie
FOP Wishology
The Powerpuff girls movie
Never watched the Steven Universe movie but I get the feeling it is like this
> The first 2 Spongebob movies
Wrong for the first movie > The Powerpuff girls movie
Ehhh maybe for very specific scenes with dark lighting, but for the most part no
The SU movie didn’t even do this. It just looked like a regular episode aside from a few dynamic shots. Thank you for giving me another reason to hate it
I was the one who said
Really, why does this always happen? Cartoon shows movies are usually not even as good as their best episodes.

But this show was all about randomness so the movie fits. Did you expect some deep lore thing where they meet their actual parents and learn some hilosophical reason for existing? This show was always random stuff happening so the movie fits.
Also the opening of this movie even make fun of people who were expecting a serious movie about this kind of material because Shake's opening origin story is the random stuff which appears in the end credits (the Aqua Teens as egyptian deities, meeting Abe Lincoln and being launched into space). I thought that was very funny and it sets the tone of the movie. You cant habve a serious movie about Aqua Teens.

The meme was made in reference to the Bob Burger's Movie.
It does seem like it is only a musical because both the big episodes usually had musical numbers in them and also dance numbers are something to do with the budget.
Dear lord. The simplistic artstyle clashing with the shadows just makes everything look worse, and the animation is so weird and unnatural. This is terrible.
The parallaxing 3D shit in the background stick out like a sore thumb too. God it looks like a cheap videogame bugging out. I think it's actually giving me motion sickness to replay the scene. Reminds me of videogames bugging out with characters sliding away from the environment mid animation.
>It does seem like it is only a musical because both the big episodes usually had musical numbers in them and also dance numbers are something to do with the budget.
Musicals also are vehicles for a lot of information to be exposited in a manner that is often aesthetically pleasing through a variety of artistic decisions.

also because the creator of the show is also a composer and probably wanted to make a real musical for a while now.
To make it look more high-effort. It often ends up looking worse than an episode though, because to make big sweeping scenes they just plop 2d assets in 3d environments and it doesn't really work.
Are you fricking moronic?
It's not economically viable to hand draw a mob.
I hope your daddy realizes you're this stupid so you don't inherit the family business.
If you got in a time machine and went back to before computers were used for animation and pitched the mob sizes at the density at a higher fidelity than the "cardboard cutouts" you'd be thrown into an asylum for being out of touch with reality.
The only legitimate example of this is the Regular Show movie and that's because the average rs episode already matches the intensity of a Big Damn Movie.
Then feel free to leave Cinemaphile and stop shitting up my board.
I want to pike Pike with my wiener.
it was already ruined by you migrating from tumblr, queer
You must get sexual gratification for constantly being in a state of anger.
Really, why does this always happen? Cartoon shows movies are usually not even as good as their best episodes.
Name six examples.

Oddly enough a made for TV movie doesn't have the budget of a theatrical production.
You’re right but that movie still sucked
But it had the best character after Peridot.
they couldn't get away with a character like spinel in the regular episodes, the animation downgrade in SUF was so obvious
The Simpsons has had basic shading since S1. Go back and watch the old stuff.
Yet again, it's not about the shading, I was talking about the general quality compared to a common episode, mainly the writing.
>FOP Wishology
Doesn't count since it was a TV film.
First spongebob movie was kino however
It was the last time Spongebob was correlated to his Ween roots
Do zoomers really?
Zoomers don't listen to Ween they are too domesticated by slampigs the government supplies
Look, I love that movie but it still isn't as good as much of the classic seasons.
>FOP Wishology
>Steven Universe Movie
Both of these were made for TV movies. Counting them is like counting any other 4 part special.
>said episode is the worst one

having three whole new backgrounds and five characters appear on screen was pretty wild back then
Making it seem like a proper film is why the second one sucked so much though
That "movie" was shit but at least it had this amazing track.

The answer is to stop making movies out of shitty sitcom cartoons
Imagine a DC or Marvel animated film with the same budget as an MCU movie.
At least you get some lavish setpieces like a mob scene in which every single character in the franchise is present.
all done in flash with cardboard cutouts and CGI

Remember when Regular Show's movie DIDN'T do what the OP image did and everyone b***hed that it looked just like the show? Make up your mind.

normal words but a movie guy
