I find it funny that Oda found it incredibly hard to work with Netflix execs to the point where he questioned wether working with westerners is even possible. The cast also seems to want to be faithful to the source as much as possible so Netflix exec homosexualry might really be dialed down a lot and we get a faithful adaption, but I don't want to get my hopes too high. I've already made peace that it's not gonna be good: nothing against the actors themselves, the writing and the fact it's only 8 episodes long for all East Blue both are major red flags to me.
That said, as long as the writers don't actually frick the emotional moments up, I'm ok with it. I'll just treat it like a high-budget fanfilm for normies so that they can finally shut up about One Piece being too long to read for them.

There is no reason to make a Wan Piss live action because its strengths just don't translate to real life visuals, just having once good looking fight scene with Luffy was probably a nightmare not to mention butchering the art style and whimsical adventures aspect. It's probably going to be an uncanny valley shitfest.

Every arc since has used the same formula except perhaps Marineford, which narratively could have taken place immediately after. Even then, the genre of storytelling is not everyone's thing, and objectively anyone who has the entire collection is 1000% suffering from buyer's remorse.

I've been happy to see my 80 volume collection in my room for more than a decade you b***h, the trailers got me rereading east blue as well with my ancient as frick first prints without the stupid arc names on the spine.
i've loved the adventure, i would say CURRENT one piece is rushing to the end so the adventure has been thrown to the wayside and what i've enjoyed most isn't so much there anymore, but now it's about seeing the tale through to the end, and that usually happens near climaxes. Cutting down any amount of that adventure means you don't understand SHIT about One Piece.
