Peter was this working class dude who struggled with his finances and relationships like most people in the world. He lost his father figure to crime at 15 years old and stepped up to help his mother figure with the bills. Dude ended up in a single mother household overnight. He had global appeal. People of all races could relate to him just fine through his struggles and background. Not through something superficial like the color of his skin.

He wasn't alone but he did actively pushed people away in order to be alone. Not in an emo way. It was his hot head, short temper, ego and his attemptto keeo everyone around him safe. But this honesty and drive is what attracted people to him. Gwen for example, was blown off repeatedly while everyone else praised her and that drove her nuts for him.

The drops per week are standard and when you've got the first 2 week of numbers, you can generally guess where it will land at the end of its run with a few exceptions that have strong holds. This one didn't have strong holds. The point is that profit is the central goal of any project. We don’t splurge on anything more than absolutely necessary while keeping in line with revenue projection. We’re looking at $600m profit for Beyond the Spiderverse on a similar budget. Either way it goes, the shareholders are gonna be happy.

Yes. That’s called diversifying your portfolio. So you don’t dump every penny into a flop like The Flash.

Diversity is when you pander to each race with their own version of a known superhero. Through the power of race essentialism and assuming people cannot connect over race boundaries we will finally have a segregated anti racist society.

What it doesn’t mean is “lmao we made a black spoodyman now we diversified nighuh”. You might be legitimately moronic in which case I’m sorry, but please stop using finance jargon and switch to something folksy like “don’t put your eggs in one basket, hyuk”.

Because making money off multiple characters is better than just making money off one. Why do you think the MCU makes movies based on multiple characters instead of just Iron Man and Captain America?

But this is all still just Spider-Man shit, when you make a Batman movie and an Aquaman movie and both make a billion, you made a lot of money and didn't increase fatigue for either, "Spider-Man but black" DOES increase Spider-Man fatigue but he does it while making far less money than the real Spider-Man. There's no fundamental visual/thematic/appeal/genre difference between the two for it to count as diversifying.

Profit margins are more important than straight revenue. Spiderverse earned us more bang for our buck than TASM or Raimi Spidey.

                >Common sense anon, you think the Mat Reeves Batman and Batfleck and Keaton Batman and the upcoming Gunn Batman won't contribute to Batman fatigue?
All of these are live action starring the same character. A better comparison would Pattinson, Terry McGinnis animated movies and Nightwing movies.
                Since 2018 when spider-verse debuted
                >Spider-Man PS4+ Miles Morales sold 35M together
                >MCU Spider-Man had two back to back billion dollar movies
                >ATSV is tracking to outgross the first by almost 300M
                >Spider-Man 2 is the most anticipated game of the year
                There is no fatigue
                >But it does matter according to you, if 4x more money could've been made with a simple character swap
The reason they are using Miles is so they can milk him alongside Peter. Peter already makes money but now with Spider-Verse they can sell Miles, Gwen and Noir merch to make money off. Look at this way, Thor doesn’t make the amount as money as Cap does but he doesn’t need to they just need another character to make extra cash. Universal knows an Ana de Armas John Wick spin off won’t make the same as a Keanu movie but it gives them another franchise to make money off.

Anon you can piss and shit and cry and moan and cum until the cows come home, and it won't change the fact that "guy in Spider-Man suit who calls himself Spider-Man and dates Spider-Man's girlfriends and fights Spider-Man's villains in Spider-Man storylines.. except his skin color under the costume is black" is not a meaningfully different character from the real Spider-Man to count as diversifying since the only major thing different about the two of them is the fact Miles brings in 1/5 the money Peter does. Keaton and Affleck and Pattinson Batmen all have more unique differences from each other than Miles has compared to Peter, let alone Dick and Terry.

According to your logic DC should now diversify away from the Flash (Barry Allen) movie by making Flash (Wally West) and Flash (Jay Garrick) and Flash (Wallace West), you know you are objectively wrong and are spouting inane bullshit but the twitter culture war mindbroke you so much you'll do it anyway. It's actually very sad and you should look for a tree to climb to help you break out of your condition ASAP.

Marvel comics Spiderman went from most profitable western comic to selling around 30 000 units because commie writers kept showing donut steel frickwads like Morales or Marvels into his storyline in the past 10 years.

You will never see standalone Miles Morales movie because he is a tumor on everybody else and would flop on his own, exactly as it was happening in MC until they wisened up.

Because making money off multiple characters is better than just making money off one. Why do you think the MCU makes movies based on multiple characters instead of just Iron Man and Captain America?

Spider-Verse used several experimental art styles and techniques that don’t come cheap. Mario used standard 3D animation and did it beautifully. A very competently made movie. Had they paid the Spider-Verse animators properly for the work they did, it would’ve been VERY expensive.
