This shit is flopping harder than I imagined. It's actually not gonna hit the $560m needed to break even

It needs more than that. With a 54.6% domestic gross and 45.4% international gross it needs at least 700m to make 356m dollars for Disney, so if we assume they only spent 100m on advertising they will just barely turn a profit at 700.

Plus they finance movie projects with money borrowed from companies like Blackrock and Venture Capital, and that comes with interests and returns that investors are expecting.

We already talked about this: you can post this meme a thousand more times if you want it still needs 2 to 3 times it's production budget to break even.

Applied to this movie this meens 500M to 750M just to get back the money it spent.

1.5 Billy would have been easily expected since Beauty and the Beast, which is a comparable film, did 1.25B back in 2017.
Making a third of that and even losing money just means complete failure.

The money reported in box office is not the money the producers receive, it's the money GENERATED by the movie. Theaters take a cut and so forth.
Moreover, the BUDGET for the movie EXCLUDES non-production costs like ads and other marketing, which is typically 100-150% of the production budget.

    https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/093015/how-exactly-do-movies-make-money.asp

Because, movie studios do not get 100% if the box office, and there are more costs than just the production budget. As you can see movie studios only get 60% of the domestic gross and 20-40% of the international gross. So with a 255m domestic gross and 212m international gross this movie has made Disney at most 237m. Since the movie had a production budget of 250m dollars, plus another 100-200m advertising budget, you can see pretty clearly it is a flop.

Don't know. The knee-jerk reaction to any and all shitty stuff they produce is always to go on the attack against the people they should be convincing to spend money. So criticism and complaints are met with 'YOU'RE HITLER AND YOU'RE A BIGOT AND WE DON'T WANT YOU SEEING OUR STUFF ANYWAY" when they should be using constructive criticism as a tool for building a better project for next time.

Thats what happens when emotionally-frail people who believe the world should revolve around their feelings and are not used to being told "no" are in charge.

When a movie flops, it flops because white Americans, black Americans, hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Canadians, Mexicanc South Americans, Australians, Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Indians. Southeast Asians, Brits, Swedes, Germans, French, Italians, Aricans, and everyone else hated it.

But the response is always to single out one demographic among all of that, then declare the fault to be bigotry. And that's total bullshit.

Companies are taxes on profits. They bloat their on-paper costs to reduce the reported profits. and in some cases billion-dollar companies even get tax refunds in spite of massive profits. Did you know that in accounting they deduct money NOT PHYSICALLY SPENT AND LOSS like "depreciation of office equipment so that desk is worth less this year than last year so let's write down profits?" For real. They even depreciate intangible assets like copyrights against their earnings to write down recorded profit even though the copyright to fricking Superman or anything Disney owns did not devalue.

It's a fricking scam that makes Wall Street numbers to be so full of shit and unreliable for what's really being spent.

morons still not understanding how movie financing works or that the studio only gets a cut of theatre earnings.

If it has a budget of $250 million then it needs to make at least £500 million to break even. However, marketing isn't factored into the budget of a movie and the general rule of thumb is companies equal the budget on marketing.

So this movie owes Disney $500 million and it needs to exceed that to make a profit.

Why are you blackards so ignorant to how the movie industry works? $250m is not "breaking even". You should stick to rap music and let the Whites handle the box office.

Its a cycle actually. Last week, chuds did the "its a israelite" thing again, now they're back to John Oliver. Next week they'll say its doreen, then they briefly embrace it, then we're back to israelite again.

Did we just forget that Disney buys up its own tickets just to uphold the illusion that they are doing fine?

Incels are getting truly desperate if they're pulling this cope already. This proves that the film is making lots of money, otherwise they wouldn't have to do this level of schizo damage control.

It’s funny how the media obsessively keeps us informed in real time on how these identity politic movies are doing. It’s clearly not just a movie but a litmus test for sociopolitical views, at least that’s how they’re presenting it.
