Also Kylo had just been shot with what is essentially an anti-tank rifle, so he's not exactly at the top of his game.
Playing Devil’s advocate, that fight wasn’t too bad. It was clear from the outset that Finn was utterly fricked, and that Kylo could have ended the fight any time he felt like it.
You could see him being used as a human stress ball, and that his injuries weren’t actually bothering him that much. The second Finn actually comes close to landing a hit, he instantly ends the fight. If his character hadn’t been so thoroughly butchered by him flip flopping between traumatised and gunning down his former comrades while whooping, making a hopeless stand would have been a nice capstone to his arc.
Then Rey joins in and the whole thing instantly goes to shit
Pacific Rim 2 was also unwatchable for a multitude of reasons besides Boyega. Like the Chinese mandated killing of Mako or having the zoomer pilots crank up the Trolololo song.
