I'm surprised at how good this was given the amount of criticism superhero films usually receive. It was simply entertaining.

I think the most interesting part was exploring Clark as a wandering nomad who was compelled to save lives. I'd watch a movie that was just about that, or a tv series.

This. I wish they spent more time on that instead of just two disconnected scenes buried under flashbacks and time jumps.
Man of Steel is a reskinned Batman Begins, almost everything in both movies happens the same way, just in a different context
Now that I think about it you're right, they are pretty much the same movie (although I like Man of Steel a bit more)
So that’s why it doesn’t make any sense as a superman movie.
Infinity War & Endgame are fully better + Winter Soldier & civil war have less objective flaws but yes MOS is very good to great.
Cons!
> Not addressing the destruction.
> Execution of the tornado scene.
> Smashing the trucker's truck.
> Pa Kent not having enough positive/optimistic scenes.
> Pa Kent's "maybe" line.
> Clark accidentally taking Zod into Smallville.
Pro or Con depending on your subjective preferences!
> Killing Zod.
> Clark being genuinely conflicted about revealing himself to the public and the potential dire consequences of such.
> Fight scenes/battles are not short. IMO they are just the right length but some consider the final fight to have been overly long.
> No jokes breaking tension during the fight or life & death sequences.
Pros!
> Clark learning to fly + him stopping the world engine are universally praised scenes even among haters.
> Extremely well choreographed epic fight scenes.
> Simultaneously grounded in a realistic feeling earth but with a truly epic feel, scope & scale.
> Incredibly well crafted sets and outfits.
> Beautiful score.
> Flawless cast.
> Best, most competent, least overly emotional Lois Lane in the history of live action except MAYBE Durance.
> Zod is a great villain.
> Faora is iconic & sexy as frick.
> No homaging/copying/retreading the Donner films (aside from using zod)
> Fantastic Krypton opening.
> Some nice military porn without overdoing it or being "America frick yeah" like MBay.
> Inspiring despite the honest & slightly dour presentation of humanity being flawed. Scenes of the Daily Planet staff, the main solider & Toby from the West Wing being willing to sacrifice themselves are all well done.

amy adams is a post wall mis cast would could never score superchad in the real world
STOP
Been defending this movie here since day one.The most moronic thing was the invincible son part but the rest was great. Also frick bvs and the rest of the sneeder movies after that.
Why didn't you like the Snyder Cut (genuinely asking, haven't seen it)
I liked the Snyder Cut overall but it again does Superman dirty by not giving him a lot of screen time or dialogue.
It wasn't honestly that bad. Old man Kent believed clark was going to save humanity and he decided to give him a few more years of solitude so he would be ready
Yeah but no way Superman wouldn’t have saved him anyways. Pa Kent’s motivation was alright if a bit much.
He wasn't superman as much as a pretty weirded out teen kid who truly felt he didn't belong anywhere
He's not even truly superman until he neck snaps zod
Too depressing. All recent Superman media has been too depressing, too much of what if Superman were evil, too much cynicism. I'm hoping for something that finally portrays him as a hopeful, optimistic, individual in a bright colorful metropolis
Wasn’t really depressing. Just a more muted tone. I get Superman being bright and hopeful but this was fine as a toned down version.
>Superman isn't allowed to experience the kinds of emotions that someone would experience is his situation, he has to be unrealistically happy all the time like a moron
Frick off. You're as bad as the idiots who complain that Daniel Craig's Bond was too moody. These characters used to be very one dimensional and now you manbabies complain when they're portrayed with some actual depth and humanity.
>Snyder
>Depth
Bruh
Compared to "classic" Superman, Snyder's Superman is like a character out of a fricking Ingmar Bergman movie

Respect your elders, zoomer scum
Stop my invincible son scene just ruins it
Bullshit nitpicking "realism" prostitute posting was as gay as when a horde of nerds cried about romance in attack of the clones as it is today.
Its a bullshit criticism, and it requires you to misunderstand the movie due to either moronation or bad faith
Fight scenes are too long and boring and filled with awkward product placement.
>filled with awkward product placement.
always has been
Its problem is that it's 2 different films stapled together.
The slow, philosophy-lite coming of age story of who Clark Kent is and how he fits in.
And the superhero story of buildings crumbling and punching bad guys really hard.
And it's really noticeable when it changes between them.
But yeah, it's pretty good. Better than most capeshit.
The fight scenes are fricking great, you can really feel the speed and weight of the punches
>superman movie
>colors are all shades of dull gray
the movie is shit solely for this reason
