same happened with me. my parents spoke to me in spanish at home but i ended up picking english as my first language anyways and was indifferent towards learning the language as a kid, so i guess they eventually gave up.
i'm the only one in my family who doesn't speak it. I'm not too bothered by not knowing except when people assume that i speak the language in certain areas in the US or when i travel to latam countries with family, that can be a little awkward.

The reason why Pupstruction has had zero leaks, compared to other things like Primos or Moon Girl, is because Disney sent out an emergency e-mail to the directors and producers begging them to not have anyone include Pupstruction related material in any social media or any portfolios whatsoever. They have a massive merchandise line in the works and did not want another Rubble & Crew situation on their hands.
Boring and tedious, especially when I have multiple characters on-screen who all have to hop into individual trucks that I have to drag the 3D model into the storyboarding program and manually pose out for each panel in a single shot. But at least I get to draw off-model and don't have to write the script without getting a screenwriting credit like those poor bastards working on storyboard-driven CN shows.
It can range from $1200 to $1900 a week before withholding depending on your position and how long you've been at the studio. It's been 100% remote since lockdown. Only have to meet with directors once every couple of weeks.
My contract is locked for 40-hours a week, but I get to make my own schedule and work as many hours as I feel like it. As long as I turn the work in on-time, they don't care. Sometimes I'll work for three hours one day, and then do twelve leisure hours the next. It's very liberating. I recently had to help a family member in an emergency for a couple of weeks and it was great not having to worry about using vacation days and just being able to work at night at my own pace. Many people at the studio are recent parents and I've heard these work conditions have been great for them because they can actually just get up and go pick their kids up from school without worry.

I honestly love all the discourse around some of these generic shows because it just feels like catharsis from having to work on them sometimes. I work on Pupstruction and I can confirm that Nickelodeon heard about the show in late 2021 and quickly put into production "Rubble & Crew" to beat the premiere of Pupstruction by six months. The reason why Pupstruction has had zero leaks, compared to other things like Primos or Moon Girl, is because Disney sent out an emergency e-mail to the directors and producers begging them to not have anyone include Pupstruction related material in any social media or any portfolios whatsoever. They have a massive merchandise line in the works and did not want another Rubble & Crew situation on their hands.
What's it like working on shows like these?
Boring and tedious, especially when I have multiple characters on-screen who all have to hop into individual trucks that I have to drag the 3D model into the storyboarding program and manually pose out for each panel in a single shot. But at least I get to draw off-model and don't have to write the script without getting a screenwriting credit like those poor bastards working on storyboard-driven CN shows.
How's the pay?
It can range from $1200 to $1900 a week before withholding depending on your position and how long you've been at the studio. A board revisionist who just started could get $1200, while a board artist who has been at the studio for multiple years can get $1800. Also, the deductions are based on your State and how much you've chosen to be taken out for benefits. I make around $1900/week, but once everything is taken out, it's closer to $1500/week. At the advice of my mother who is way better at financials than me, I put quite a bit into my 401K. At the advice of my father who works with computers, I invested quite a bit into my Vision health plan since I stare at a computer screen 12+ hours a day. He was correct, my eyesight has been getting worse with each year and I'll definitely need laser eye surgery in the next few years or else I'll have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. I'm currently near-sighted and I was not this way in 2015 when I got my first job.
It's been 100% remote since lockdown. Only have to meet with directors once every couple of weeks.
My contract is locked for 40-hours a week, but I get to make my own schedule and work as many hours as I feel like it. As long as I turn the work in on-time, they don't care. Sometimes I'll work for three hours one day, and then do twelve leisure hours the next. It's very liberating. I recently had to help a family member in an emergency for a couple of weeks and it was great not having to worry about using vacation days and just being able to work at night at my own pace. Many people at the studio are recent parents and I've heard these work conditions have been great for them because they can actually just get up and go pick their kids up from school without worry.
Oh yeah, and I don't care about Primos. It looks boring and generic. I honestly love all the discourse around some of these generic shows because it just feels like catharsis from having to work on them sometimes. Seeing these shows get announced and then the showrunners or board artists make an ass out of themselves is funny to watch. All you have to do is not post on social media. My team has had to do it for multiple shows. I don't know why it's so hard for people.
