So is this show worth a watch or can I just get the gist from YouTube shorts set to rap music.
I gave it a chance when it first premiered on Toonami and been hooked since.
Which means I started in at long ring long, about 200 eps in.
Though I'd personally recommend starting from the beginning.
Read the Manga, I haven't read it myself but is either that or spending 7 month catching up with the 1000+ (No joke is that many) episodes.
Believe me when I said it took me months and that was like 10 years ago.
The first few seasons of the anime are cozy as frick, when you get tired of that just switch to the manga.
early anime is actually a great experience, switch to manga when they get rid of the endings, that's when the pacing goes out the door episode wise.
The last arc is one of the worst things I’ve experienced so maybe skip it

Watch it but don’t expect Post time skip to be as good as pre. A lot of the later arc drag too long. Wano was a drag yet it still felt rushed.
Best arcs in my opinion were Arlong and Water 7. So if you get to Arlong and still don’t like the show don’t bother watching the rest.
Read the manga, and then hop in to the anime to view how they treated the key scenes.
The anime would take too long to watch, but the VA's and etc. do a great job.

The show is garbage read the manga
It's one of those cash cow self perpetuating stories that are long because they're popular and make money, not because the format is absolutely necessary to tell the story. When the manga is finished, they'll probably make a movie trilogy about the whole story that will cut out all the pointless filler (that isn't called filler) that didn't amount to anything. But if you don't appreciate your time go for it.

Fun adventure in the beginning after the time skip it became the Luffy show with horrible pacing.

Dad and sister love anime, my dad introduced me to anime on the local TV as a kid and now my little sister is obsessed with anime so it's fun we watch seasonal stuff togheter. We sometimes go to the cinema to see anime movies too like Demon Slayer or the OP movies. Real comfy stuff.
