No he's overpowered, Superman powers + telepathy + limitless shapesifting powers that include invisibility and intangibility, that's why he's such a jobber it's nearly impossible to give him a challenge.
The vast majority of every DC character does not use fire weapons or powers. Also >use telekinesis as a shield and get rid of the fire in a nanosecond >can't surprise him thanks to telepathy
nevermind how you would never be able to see him due to invisibility
>use telekinesis as a shield and get rid of the fire in a nanosecond
He can't do it in a nanosecond, it takes time. >can't surprise him thanks to telepathy
He can't read everything's mind, Dr. Trap's traps for example.
Really, the best way to deal with an OP character is give him equally OP enemies, this is writing 101.
>He can't do it in a nanosecond
Why? He's superfast. >He can't read everything's mind
He was able to read every person mind in the world there is no reason why he wouldn't just read the mind of every person near to him. >Really, the best way to deal with an OP character is give him equally OP enemies, this is writing 101.
The problem is that nothing but cosmic characters would be a threat to him, he's just too powerful to be on earth or to be a justice league member.
>Why? He's superfast.
Fire hurts him, not just physically but also mentally, he can't just make it disappear, he has to struggle. >He was able to read every person mind in the world there is no reason why he wouldn't just read the mind of every person near to him.
Okay? That doesn't mean he's doing it 24/7, that's like saying Flash is always running at his top speed, Superman always using all of his strength, or (You) using all of your energy all the time. >The problem is that nothing but cosmic characters would be a threat to him
Try being a bit more creative dude, just because you can't think of any relatively low threat for him doesn't mean it can't exist. >he's just too powerful to be on earth or to be a justice league member.
Yeah, that's just not true.

The guy already overcame fire several times, unless the fire is right next to him what is pretty much impossible due to his powers it's not a threat, nevermind how you are insisting on fire attacks, Lex Luthor, Joker, Black Adam, Cheetah, Black Manta and 99% of all DC villains don't carry fire around and will probably not bring it with them because they think he might show up. >Okay? That doesn't mean he's doing it 24/7
No reason for not doing it before joining the mission or the moment the fight start >Try being a bit more creative dude, just because you can't think of any relatively low threat for him doesn't mean it can't exist.
It's just not possible, he's faster than Quicksilver and a stronger telepath than Xavier, each one of those characters is already overpowered now imagine both of their powers combined plus super strenght, telekinesis, intangibility and invisibility. >Yeah, that's just not true.
It's true, he's way above the rest of the team.

I was actually thinking of him burning lol, not when it's next to him. >Lex Luthor, Joker, Black Adam, Cheetah, Black Manta and 99% of all DC villains don't carry fire around and will probably not bring it with them because they think he might show up.
Yeah, I wasn't thinking about those guys, I was thinking about hypothetical MM villains in a MM story. >No reason for not doing it before joining the mission or the moment the fight start
Again, he isn't using his full power 24/7, no character ever is, otherwise stories would end like 2 pages. >It's just not possible
It's just not possible for (You) >he's faster than Quicksilver and a stronger telepath than Xavier
If you can't think about a character besides their power level, then that's your own problem.
Seriously this "oh he's too powerful" bullshit is fricking stupid, no character is invincible, this goes extra for someone with a weakness as exploitable as fire.

If you need to ignore most of the character powers to make the story work then it's a poorly written story and that's what happens in most JL stories due to MM being too overpowered.

It's not ignoring their powers, it's simply giving them limits and fitting enemies to go against, no one wants to read a story where the hero wins immediately, otherwise why doesn't Flash and Superman just solve everything with super speed?

Super Speed is quite overpowered but it's simple to stop, force fields, invisibility, gravity powers, intangibility, massive durability, psychic attacks and others can all frick up any speedster even the ones who are also strong like Superman and Wonder Woman. Martian Marhunter is way more tricky to counter.
>use telekinesis as a shield and get rid of the fire in a nanosecond
I'm not an expert on J'onn by any means
But is Telekinesis really one of his main powers?
I know it's a thing in Young Justice because M'gann had to be ridiculously OP but I don't really recall J'onn having TK in most iterations
He is too OP honestly. His shapeshifting, telepathy, and intangibility alone make him OP, but he also has flight, super strength, and durability. He needs to have a few of them removed. Especially if they use the "his weakness to fire is actually psychological only and he can overcome it!"
There should be a Martian Manhunter story where he’s constantly on fire, just enough for him to feel pain, but not enough to die.
I love J'onn but I want him to suffer, I think there's potential there.
Yeah it was Batman's counterplan in Tower of Babel. He was permanently on fire.
Yeah, but my idea was that J'onn could still act and do stuff even while on fire.
Of course he'd be using all his energy to try to stay alive and try to get help somehow, which obviously would be hard as a walking flaming melting man.
Maybe I am a moron, because I only know Trapp from his history with Martian Manhunter, had no idea he fought Manhunter lol
I mainly know him as the killer of the Justice Experience, J'onn's original hero team
Also, I'd like to point out his latest appearance was in an Action Comics Martian Manhunter backup story, so I hope it's acceptable to consider him a Martian Manhunter villain.
Any Justice League without him is kind of lame. If I wrote for DC, I'd do a story about J'onn getting fricked up by them using him as a comlink like they did in the cartoon. He can't help but get a little feedback off each brain, so he starts getting more dour the more he works with Batman, more socialist and combative (and sexy) working with Ollie, maybe puts some potpourri in the bathroom if there are a lot of women on the team, etc.
He's arguably too powerful. If it were up to me, he'd only have telepathy, telekinesis, shape-shifting, and personal density manipulation. Everything else is just unnecessary.
He's okay when they don't try to push him as a black man or genderfluid, his main problem is the lack of memorable villains, Superman's villains can be meh when compared to Batman but he's got a couple of memorable ones while Martian Manhunter got pretty much nothing aside his arch enemy who isn't all that memorable either
superman is literally the lamest super hero you could have thrown a dart at a board with names and found a better hero
WTF is your homosexual ass talking about. He's been the most popular hero since 1938. Has some of the greatest stories in the history of comics
>I'll use my mental abilities to stop this vill-ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH
>I’ll use my superhuman abilities to stop this vill- ARRRRHHHHHHH
>Batman sama, save me from this kryptonite
What if fire kryptonite?
He hunts for men? That's pretty gay.

He's vulnerable to fricking fire

Most living things are vulnerable to fire.
I'm a water-type. Water flows through my body. I am resistant to fire.
That's why his weakness is really common. Its fire. It doesn't even hurt him because he's as tough as Superman. He's just afraid of it.
He is too OP honestly. His shapeshifting, telepathy, and intangibility alone make him OP, but he also has flight, super strength, and durability. He needs to have a few of them removed. Especially if they use the "his weakness to fire is actually psychological only and he can overcome it!"
name me five good runs outside of Ostrander
He's a jobber.

Does he have some special grudge to Manchester United? Is he Liverpool or Man City Fans?
No, just a theme naming.
Do you not realize that Manhunter and Martian Manhunter are different characters? Do you get all your info from wikis?
Are you a moron?
Maybe I am a moron, because I only know Trapp from his history with Martian Manhunter, had no idea he fought Manhunter lol

the squirrel
He would lose to silver surfer.
telepathy and shapeshifting are his main powers, not telekinesis
I always confuse telepathy and telekinesis.
He's way better, just by being an alien that's actual alien and not a pretty magical human.
Any Justice League without him is kind of lame. If I wrote for DC, I'd do a story about J'onn getting fricked up by them using him as a comlink like they did in the cartoon. Cyborg is a shit tier replacement for him
