(You) are the reason marvel gets away with this shit, fricking simpleton who's mind is so dumbed down by years of slop that you don't even get what the frick OP is talking about
i can't believe i'm defending capeshit but you're being enough of a moronic dogc**t that i might as well: shang chi actually had pretty good special effects. what is the point of criticising VFX if they're actually executed well?
God this board is full of fricking shit >post screengrab >moronic cryptic comment >everybody is expected to know what the seething autistic c**t is complaining about
99% of the time it's just some moronic /misc/gay crying about women/blacks/gays/troons/libs, so frick you
You must be blind, I have Strange on right now and every single scene uses horrible bluescreen with no exposure correction, highlighting how everyone's standing on a 5x5 set. And if that wasn't enough non-cgi scenes are evenly lit like some kinda hallmark movie.

I’m not the one you’re responding to, but you should specify that that’s the second Doctor Strange movie and not the first, as the first one has some pretty good lighting and whatnot.

It's the one in the OP, yes. The first one was perfectly fine as far as effects go. I think the big shift with marvel movies happened after Endgame, that's when they began using this cheap bluescreen style that I'm sure is saving them a lot of money.

Yeah but they would have to CGI most of these scenes anyway, so their choice at the end of the day is to CGI them poorly.
See here this wanda.

I don’t know if you’re being serious or not, but honestly some of the shots in DS 2 were pretty nicely done, possessing more depth and allowing more breathing room than other MCU movies (at least the recent ones.)
The opening wedding scene, particularly and/or especially when Stephen first sits down and converses with the individual that lost his cat, for example was nicely lit and shot, and it felt like it appropriately took its time. I wonder if it had something to do with Raimi being the director.

I certainly hope I’m not. I was just genuinely surprised by how nice some of the scenes were compared to other MCU movies.
For what it’s worth I genuinely consider “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Gattaca” to be two of my favorite movies.
I hope I didn’t come across as “Reddit”. Again, I was just surprised that some of the scenes genuinely felt as though they were of a slightly higher quality than most of the MCU (at least from what I can recall of the other movies.)

I will take your concession of defeat, anon
It’s starting to get embarrassing. It’s about time that they make a movie more grounded in reality shot in real locations, something like they did with Logan.
I’m sure there are plenty of characters to pull this off, Blade, The Punisher, etc.
They literally can't. Either they also own the companies that do all the post production and thus have to prop them up or incur a ton of debt, or they have lasting contracts with those companies and breaching the contracts would incur tons of debt. Either way they're mired too deep in their current business model and climbing out of that swamp is not an option to such shortsighted people or their army of ideologically driven muppets.
Oh great, multiverse, not there's an unlimited number of stupid fricking story lines that will unendingly gush shit into movie theaters forever. Thanks Disney.
I will keep watching these fun popcorn movies in theaters, Disney will keep making them, and the rest of you will keep impotently seething at Disney and hoping that name calling MCU fans like me will have some sort of effect (it doesn't).
See you all next thread.
The nonstop whinging over the MCU has become the gentle background soundtrack of my Cinemaphile experience.
If I came here and there weren't any MCU threads, it would feel totally alien.
yup i honestly get it hating on capeshit but this board only hating mcu because their popularity and i never see such a long post critizising dceu it always be seething about mcu with leftwing many words tier post
Films like “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” and “Logan” (and to lesser though palpable degrees the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and “X2: X-Men United”) are genuinely good though.

I’ll have to rewatch many of them, but off the top of my head (perhaps for lack of better words) the first Iron Man, Captain America, and Doctor Strange movies I think are pretty good (not as good as the aforementioned ones but not bad.)
The GOTG movies may not be bad either, but as said before I need to see them again and assess how they are anew.
i never said dislike other marvel product even venom were decent imo, its just morons here unironically praise dogshit movie like morbius just because its not part of the mcu

I didn’t mean that. It’s just depending on which individual you are of the one(s) I was responding to, then I don’t think it’s right and/or accurate to call some of the films “capeshit” as there are some that are genuinely good. My issue is more so with the general use of the word “capeshit”. I don’t think superhero movies in general should be referred to as such since there are some genuinely good ones.
I hope that clears it up. Sorry about any misunderstandings.

You’re welcome. I always try to post and speak earnestly and sincerely; it has the potential to be more fulfilling and lacking any apathy and/or carelessness prevents potentially unfavorable consequences (someone taking something malign said to heart or what have you.)
It's cherry picking a scene where someone right beside them is lighting them harshly without the light reaching further into the background because it's a magic superpower and the background is just lit by the sun, it looks fine when you watch the scene
Because the deeply racist liberal white people have to assuage the guilt they feel over how deeply racist they are in the most extreme ways possible and the ugliest semigorilla blacks aren't going to complain because they feel entitled to the special treatment.
Not even racist but how in the frick does that b***h get roles? Plenty of actresses who can't act but at least they are pretty or above average. This one can't act for shit and she looks straight up disgusting. Literally hard to look at.
>"If you make the backgrounds a little blurry it's like they're actually there!"
It actually makes it look worse because for the background to be that blurry the foreground would have to be super focused, and it isn't.
I just watched that doctor strange. Only finished it because it was so bad I genuinely found it funny. The propaganda was just over the top now, they don't even try to hide it. >Name a spanish speaking Mexican girl with a gay/troony/Black person Pin America Chavez >"we have to save America"
lol, lmao even
Yeah both the way they jobbed and the difference in how they were dispatched is shocking. >magic tricks with no counterplay against the two men >carter and marvel get into a laser fight
The Matrix was a shit ton of green screen and 20 years ago and somehow looks better than movies with couple hundred million production budgets and decades of new technology and expertise. Its obvious they are just laundering money. Fricking twitch streamers with a green blanket look more realistic than these disney products.
It’s cheap, stupid, israelite-made capeshit for brown people with arrested development. The cheap and obvious green screen is almost appropriate for this level of trash.
Oh no the superhero known as Shang Chi was played by an asian guy! They're literally erasing whites!
Pretty sure he's talking about the green screen...
The bottom one doesn't look too bad in that regard.
Are you fricking blind? It's even worse than the top
Bottom is the only bad one imo
(You) are the reason marvel gets away with this shit, fricking simpleton who's mind is so dumbed down by years of slop that you don't even get what the frick OP is talking about

it's the greenscreen you /misc/tard
It looks fine though
>It looks fine
Yes, go outside
That's what they should have done
They literally did you absolute moron. They are just standing in the shade. Go Outside
Top is being illuminated by Black Bolt, it looks fine
Looks good to me?
Do you guys use LCD monitors from 2003?
The lighting is all kinds of fricked.
>Top is in the shade
>Middle is being lit by magic superpowers
>Bottom just looks kind of normal idk I haven't seen that movie yet
They usually use greenscreen for closeups and for reshoots. OP's pic is still greenscreen and you can see that.
it just looks like they are standing under one of those huts though
The background is definitely artificial-looking. Then again they probably did it to get the lighting right.
And this right here is why they keep getting away with it.
Literally the only bad one is Portman
You must be blind, I have Strange on right now and every single scene uses horrible bluescreen with no exposure correction, highlighting how everyone's standing on a 5x5 set. And if that wasn't enough non-cgi scenes are evenly lit like some kinda hallmark movie.

You are just nitpicking and biased, they get away with it because they make good movies and nobody else in Hollywood does
Get your eyes checked, you literal fricking moron.
Why do black characters keep choosing black as their preferred colors? Don't they have any imagination?
are you under the impression the actor is the one choosing it?
He literally said "characters"
To be fair I think the actors only found out how the suit looked at the premiere. It’s all cgi
What am I missing here?
And this is exactly why they don’t care.
A brain
These are products, not movies.

The stark lighting contrast between the background and the actors in the second image is triggering my autism.
It's cherry picking a scene where someone right beside them is lighting them harshly without the light reaching further into the background because it's a magic superpower and the background is just lit by the sun, it looks fine when you watch the scene
Man I love what Natalie Portman is becoming in her older years. She'll never be not beautiful. Like straight up Jessica Lange status in a few decades.
Why do they pick the absolute grossest ugliest semigorilla blacks? Especially black women.
That sheboon is legit nightmare fuel.
cause america
Because the deeply racist liberal white people have to assuage the guilt they feel over how deeply racist they are in the most extreme ways possible and the ugliest semigorilla blacks aren't going to complain because they feel entitled to the special treatment.
what's the problem here?
I admit that I wouldn't even notice if you didn't point this out. Eh... Whatever
What did he point out? I still don't know.
The usage of green screen and the lighting (if I’m not mistaken.)
Not the highest quality green drop editing.
Every last product shitted out by sneedsney dropped colossally in quality in every field.
look at the background
Why does it look as bad as rear view projection from the 60's?
Holy shit, Lasagna Lunch is so fricking ugly. She even makes the two women in the top pic look more appealing by contrast.
Of course they will. Marvel fans are moronic.
I'm watching dr strange right now, this has to be one of the ugliest movies I've ever seen.
These effects are Buffy tier.
>3 shots cherry picked from 6 movies where only one looks bad
It's over Mousebros
This is an embarrassing part of Hollywood's history that most actors will pretend never happened 30 years from now
Cope
Holy frick I had the joke name on from the tolkien thread ignore that
because you are a moronic redditor

Capeshit 24/7/365
Just wondering about the thought process of the guy that gave her a role when her agent came saying hey this is the actress I told you about kek.
Watched Wanda vision and it’s very good I really don’t get what some people were b***hing about Also watched multiverse of madness I get Wanda now
>"If you make the backgrounds a little blurry it's like they're actually there!"
It actually makes it look worse because for the background to be that blurry the foreground would have to be super focused, and it isn't.
Yes because they look fine
I just watched that doctor strange. Only finished it because it was so bad I genuinely found it funny. The propaganda was just over the top now, they don't even try to hide it.
>Name a spanish speaking Mexican girl with a gay/troony/Black person Pin America Chavez

lol, lmao even
>I just watched that doctor strange. Only finished it because it was so bad I genuinely found it funny.
literally me
And her (with Wong) speaking spanish within like 15 minutes of the movie starting was pretty obscene too. Talk about creatively bankrupt.
>The two three white men get the most gruesome deaths
>the white woman is killed off screen
>black woman is crushed with no gore or blood
you forgot
>all three of the men barely put up a fight
Yeah both the way they jobbed and the difference in how they were dispatched is shocking.
>magic tricks with no counterplay against the two men
>carter and marvel get into a laser fight
>breaks and kills professor x because.. she just does ok!
also how would captain marvel die like that? she must have been a way weaker version
Don't know how people are missing this, Wanda basically decides to cheat and take away her powers. That's why her mask starts disappearing.
neither of them had a mask on though did they?
I only saw it once in theaters
>Being this cucked by SJWs that you can't enjoy anything anymore.
>argh she killed our friend I'm gonna stretch really slow in her direction and hope for the best while my female teammates watch from behind!
that black lady is ugly.
and why oh why is atwell dressed like that?
reminds me how I tried out the first s4 episode of Westworld, every single bad guy is white, and viciously killed
>CGI in MCU keep geting worse
Why?
The Matrix was a shit ton of green screen and 20 years ago and somehow looks better than movies with couple hundred million production budgets and decades of new technology and expertise. Sad that this lazy crap is still the best stuff in Hollywood
Am I the only one not bothered by CGI? Sure it doesn’t always look photorealistic but you have to use your imagination a little to enjoy a movie
poor sfx is fine when there have to be sfx used and they can't afford good sfx
neither of those is the case here
These SFX are good
