      Dormammu (Incursions and Clea)
Ultron (could return via White Vision)
      Doom (Reed Richard's arch nemesis)
Chthon (kicked alot of shit off in WV and MoM)

I think the only way we will see Thanos again is in an Eternals sequel.

I don't think they'd use Doom because they haven't introduced him yet. Not exactly an "old antagonist." I always figured he'd be the next big bad after Kang though.
I think this would be a good chance to bring back Red Skull, who always felt underutilized in the MCU. IW/Endgame left it wide open for him to return since he's no longer bound by the Soul Stone.

They played that card too many times already. They replaced Terrance Howard and Edward Norton so it'd seem even more discombobulated if they do it again. The only reasonable villain would Ultron, and hopefully they don't make him a stupid fricking meme master this time.

kang's a Mort of the Month type character now

I think that's probably what they'll do. All these "early reports" are a load of bullshit and always turn out to be false.

They played that card too many times already. They replaced Terrance Howard and Edward Norton so it'd seem even more discombobulated if they do it again. The only reasonable villain would Ultron, and hopefully they don't make him a stupid fricking meme master this time.

They didn't "play it too many times." They did it twice, extremely early on, 15 years ago at this point, and that's it. And recasting happens all the time in movies. Like Johnny Depp in the Harry Potter movies or the Oracle in the Matrix. People aren't stupid, they understand that sometimes an actor can't or won't come back for one reason or another. They have a whole storyline planned out with Kang so recasting him is the most logical decision.

        Anonymous

        >people aren't stupid
lol, lmao. Whatever you say, anon. They already came out and said they're changing the Avenger movie about Kang and giving it a different title besides "Kang Dynasty" so it's more or less over for this character. Majors shit the bed, why do you think held out so long before dropping him?
        >muh proof!
Nah, they just bet a shit ton on his stupid ass and they really didn't want to change gears unless they had to. And it's even worse in 2023 because now that character is associated with a woman beater but is also black. They're definitely moving away from Kang.

Cause the entire phase 3 has lost momentum they need something anything different than a reskinned kang

      Anonymous

when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. this current phase and plans leading into Secret Wars are in frickin' shambles right now cause public interest has been strained. if they've gotta recast Kang anyway they might as well consider doing a hard pivot to a whole different character. shake off this whole bad spell as a fluke and get back to work proper.

Sony and the slow burn introduction of the X-Men has the MCU in a murderous fricking chokehold right now. Marvel can't use a frickin' thing from Spider-Man without Sony's express approval, and even then they've still gotta jump through a buncha hoops writing the script. we desperately need women that comic book fans actually give a shit about like Jean Grey, Storm, X-23, and Kitty Pryde instead of Hawkeye with womb, the Muslim Lantern, and the Ebony & Ivory Captain Marvels. there are multiple Spider-Girls/Spider-Women who could carry a solo or even a team-up film, and Black cat wouldn't be a bad shout either. not to mention all the male characters who could fill the power and charisma vacuum now that RDJ and Chris Evans are out. Benedict Cumberbatch has the whole shit on his back right now. lol
we need Logan, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, lethal protector Venom, and another Spider-Man to support Peter. it'll probably be Miles, but Miguel and Ben exist too. it's just insane that it feels like we're left picking at scraps again with characters like Ant-Girl, Echo, Agatha Harkness, and 3 Captain Marvels.

I don't know if it has been confirmed but, supposedly, jonathan majors signed a deal where only he could play kang and all of his variants and if marvel uses a different actor for kang, they would have to pay him for not respecting the contract, so it would be cheaper for kevin feige to discontinue the character instead

You forget who Captain America is now. They're going to use Red Skull as a stand-in for DRUMPF and make it all about how racist neo-nazis lurk around every corner, just waiting to overthrow democracy.

no no with the end of the multiverse

Even if they brought back Chris Evans (which would "demote" a black character, so not likely), your scenario doesn't preclude mine. But your optimism is refreshing, kid. It won't last long in this place.

An evil multiverse avengers team would probably get some interest back. Especially if it was Downey & Evans playing villain roles

Eric Bana as Maestro Hulk could be kino.

        Anonymous

They should do an entire team of evil variants that team up. Like an evil Loki, Maestro, Ultron, Magneto a whole bunch of villains who saw Kang as a threat and then beat Kang and now the Avengers have to beat this evil team.

        Anonymous

They'll probably do something like that for Secret Wars. Superior Iron Man, Doom or Beyonder recruits a team of evil characters and Loki/Strange puts together a team of MCU and Fox heroes. Big fight on Battleworld.

Evans & Hemsworth do way better playing villains. Marvel should just take a page from those awesome Dc animated movies, they did one about a clone justice league team in the multiverse fricking with the actual justice league

please God bring James Spader and Ultron back, that character was way too goddamn good to have only had one movies. two of the best What-If episodes revolve around Ultron - and that was without the incredible boon that is James Spader's voice acting and his having offered outta the goodness of his heart as an actor to show up to set to do all Ultron's mocap himself. Infinite Ultron becoming aware of the multiverse and being able to take his Infinity Gems to other universes without them becoming inert was the last time i felt genuine dread and concern for the mainline continuity since the end of Infinity War.

Will never happen. Too many mistakes in the post-Endgame era for the MCU to survive. They will need a miracle for F4/X-Men to save the franchise.

    >Thanos
No, please no. He was great. Let him go.
    >Dormammu
The more immediately obvious powerful threat but you're going to be on the hook for benedict Cumberbatch's contract and if he's smart, he'll go full RDJ and charge them out the ass for every appearance. The big problem I think would be getting audiences excited about 'scary face in space', and this is really important to nail because currently people don't give a frick about Marvel movies.
    >Ultron
My preference. Keeps you on Earth (most likely), which let's you use any heroes you want. Street level heroes can be of use, galactic level heroes can contribute, the Avengers can be made relevant again. Also James Spader probably would be cheaper than some other actors and he'd still do a good job.

They should use Dafoe's Norman Osbourne.

Something like at the end of No Way Home he wasn't really better and now has knowledge of the multiverse and creates some evil plan to conquer it or something
