Thanos or Dormammu would seem to be the two major options.
Thanos could be it because he already worked once, and Disney obviously have no real worries about being seen as unoriginal. These guys will happily tread all over old ground until they fall right through it.
But Dormammu could work better with the whole Multiverse Saga angle, and IIRC there were already some rumours a few months back saying that Dr Strange 3 was going to focus around some combination of Dormammu and multiverse incursions as the main threat. Dormammu hasn't really done anything so far, despite having been set up as pretty powerful, and it could be an easy jump from Kang to that.
As much as I'd like to see Ultron come back and hopefully be done better that he was in Age of Ultron, but let's be real here I don't see how they could tie him into multiverse bullshit, unless they decide to go with the super overpowered animated Ultron from What If, which would be a bad idea.
That's what I was hoping Doctor Strange 2 would be years ago, Dormammu or some other planar threat and Strange taking care of it, not be a cameo fest and bad sequel to a TV show that the writers didn't even talk to.
I know Multiverse of Madness came out coming up on two years ago now but man, what a crappy movie.
It's absolutely fricking criminal that Dr Strange sequel directed by Sam Raimi barely functions as either a sequel to the first Dr Strange or as a recognisably Raimi film
Just recast Kang. Yes, all of them. Who cares? Just don't mention it. Josh Brolin literally plays two different characters and no one fricking brings it up.
What part of "Who cares? Just don't mention it." do you not fricking get, flatscan? They're all actors playing characters. Rodney was literally a different person in Iron Man 1. Shut your stupid fricking mouth and just plug in another darkie.
A side character is a fair bit different from the main bad, especially one shown to be the same homie across thousands of universes vs one (1) homie
i agree tho the change wouldn't matter as the character is an abject joke before this shit, keeping him would be a poor idea
Frick it, have some new actor come in and destroy the we wuz Kang arena, shows him as a threat and establishes the new actor, but I agree Kang was a complete fricking waste of time and space. The entire last phase has been a waste of time and space. We could have had dark avengers built up by now with blade and wwbn moon knight etc. but we ain't got anything but straight dog shite writing and executive decisions. None of these MFS making this shit are actually fans of the characters they are in charge of.
Having the Kangs lose their shit they're being bested by a single person in their own 'home' would be a pretty solid way to introduce his replacement, so we know they sure as hell aren't doing that
It's bizarre how Marvel just immediately started fumbling after Endgame. Say what you will about the quality of the movies themselves, but everything to do with the Infinity Saga as an interconnected series of movies worked well and it came together smoothly in the end. Then, once that was done, Marvel just sat around on their corporate arses, feeling on top of the world, and promptly failed to get any real, coordinated momentum going on for the next Phase and next big story. That'd be fine if they were putting out good material, but they weren't doing that either.
Feige announced they're going to do the multiverse as the Next Big Thing, and all that's really amounted to so far (nearly 5 years after Endgame) is No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, Loki, and the end credits of The Marvels. There's all these false starts for their attempts at new storylines and new characters, like the Eternals, the setup for Young Avengers, and the flood of crap Disney+ shows that routinely fail to get anyone excited. Meanwhile, the old characters still around that people actually enjoy watching get shit like Falcon and the Winter Soldier, MoM, Love & Thunder, and Quantumania. Spider-Man's held by Sony, so they can't rely on him. Captain Marvel continues to be disliked or at best ignored. Black Widow's solo movie was crap and then they pissed off ScarJo, while they just stumbled onto Scarlet Witch suddenly becoming their first truly popular heroine with Wandavision and then immediately turned her into a villain just because Bendis did it. Their Black Panther fricking died, and they had to replace him with his boring on-screen sister. And, despite the fact that Disney spent $71 billion on Fox, they've stupidly dragged their feet on actually incorporating the X-Men and Fantastic Four beyond frivolous cameos.
It's all such a creative mess that it's baffling to think about the fact that the MCU used to be the only franchise able to pull off a cinematic universe.
>millenial thinks there will be more MCU shit
Stocks says otherwise, though Disney is ready to cut the losses the moment someone, even ol FOX throws a bid at lucasfilm and marvel.
unlikely since the DCEU critical failure kept going for years after fumbling with MoS. it was literally dying during the MCU's rise to the top, and that was WB.
Definitelty cynicism after making the world's highest grossing movie of all time, remember when they re-released the movie in the summer with a shitty unifinished CGI Hulk? https://youtu.be/EBD5_86469s?si=ClaI1JSaBZxmmblF
I think Marvel fans are partly what caused them to stop giving a shit because moron redditors were campaigning for this to become the highest grossing movie and not Avatar
No, they went out of their way to show that all the kangs they showed us look the same. There are infinitely many other Kangs not shown who look different, like the Spiders-men.
If that is true (and it probably isn't), the executive that approved that contract needs to be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.
The MCU is hiring dipshit directors with barely a full TV episode on their resume, but you think they're handing exclusive rights to the linchpin of their next film phase to a literally-who actor? That would make literally no sense unless someone is actively trying to sabotage the MCU.
homie Majors was a literal who when he was cast not Will Smith or Denzel Washington. No way Disney would have that in his contract even if someone at Marvel wanted it.
Pay or play means if they recast within x years of signing, the original player gets paid the headline amount anyway - this happened with Nic Cage on Superman Returns for example.
However there'll be force majeure clauses to let Marvel use the character in the event of the actor being disabled/imprisoned/fricking nuts. So in this specific case there's not going to be a problem legally speaking with recasting - he's out of his contract and they don't owe him another penny for future projects, even if an appeal subsequently cleared him, because the projects can't wait for him to sort his shit out.
It's more likely that they simply don't want to recast because that would continue to draw attention to his having been a major player in their plans - which doesn't look good for the studio and hurts their chances of attracting talent to future projects, but also hurts them reputationally if it becomes something that's brought up every time Kang appears in another project. Plus there's always the prospect of frivolous suits from Majors against every Kang project moving forward, trying to assert a right to payment where contractually none exists. Potentially he and his heirs could tie them up in litigation for decades as happened with the Kirbys, the Siegels, the Shusters etc over the past half century. That's hugely expensive and a total waste of everyone's time, but people who think there's money or revenge to be had will go over the specific meaning of every word, every piece of punctuation and especially the formatting of a legal agreement until nobody on any side has any money left.
I would say Dormammu is the most obvious choice given that Dr. Strange is being set up to be one of the major players of the multiverse saga, that he was last seen returning to the Dark Dimension AND he no longer has the time stone and so has no leverage to keep Dormammu from invading other worlds.
They could use the multiverse Infinity Gauntlet Ultron from What If? but I doubt they'll try and hinge their next big saga on something from a Disney + show, especially after seeing how the Marvels worked out.
it's been 2 decades and you homosexuals still think Marvel can lose. they confirmed Avengers 5 is still happening. the DCEU died eating a wienerroach.
how can you not get it? you have no effect on the MCU.
>millenial thinks there will be more MCU shit
Stocks says otherwise, though Disney is ready to cut the losses the moment someone, even ol FOX throws a bid at lucasfilm and marvel.
Taking all the post-endgame movies and TV shows into account, would it be possible to have Doom as the main bad guy going forward if they dropped all the Kang shit or would it be too moronic given how many multiverse plotlines there are?
Doom
Not happening.
nah
They're already trting to cast Gosling.
The DCA ride is going to focus on a "King Thanos" from a timeline where he won. Might as well synergize with that.
I say either ultron or dormammu because Thanos is dead, maybe dormammu since strange doesn't have the time stone to stall him for eternity anymore
thing about that is he already would have always done, so that's fine
Thanos or Dormammu would seem to be the two major options.

covid happened.
frick that fake virus

No one even mentioned DCEU or Snyder's garbage you fricking schizo.
Gunn’s pedoshit will flop, pajeet
>they've stupidly dragged their feet on actually incorporating the X-Men and Fantastic Four beyond frivolous cameos.
They can't fully reboot the X-Men until 2026. This has been explained many many times.

Nobody watched Ant Man 3 though.
I did, unfortunately
Apparently Majors has in his contract that only he can play Kang because he didn't want disney to be able to just replace him whenever they want
>Apparently Majors has in his contract that only he can play Kang
That's not how contracts work.
they fired him on a morality clause he has no leverage kek
they will recast then "kang died on the way to his home planet" and that will be the last we'll ever see
If that is true (and it probably isn't), the executive that approved that contract needs to be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

Well he got fricked out of that anyway, frick that fish lipped nig
Even if it's true it would likely just mean they have to pay a penalty which if they REALLY want Kang they can afford.
Nope.

no one cares about Kang
Kang was such weak sauce I think the guy from Baskin Robin's could solo him
>I'm a casual and I don't know why they chose Kang as a villain
go back to twitter
Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse
I would say Dormammu is the most obvious choice given that Dr. Strange is being set up to be one of the major players of the multiverse saga, that he was last seen returning to the Dark Dimension AND he no longer has the time stone and so has no leverage to keep Dormammu from invading other worlds.

ANTS
Beyonder.
Let's see more Ultron
for teh lulz
>ultron
>with no Tony Stark
Uhhhhhh I'll take 'what is a bad idea' for 500, Alex.
Why?
Ultron should've never been Tony's creation in the first place.
idiot
nah he should have
nah
Why?
There's no reason to change it unless you're a moron with a hateboner for Hank Pym.
recast and keep going
Marvel literally started that trend, why do you morons think this is a big L for them?
>Disney is going to make the same stupid mistake as they did with T'Challa over an even stupider reason
MBAs, not even once
it's been 2 decades and you homosexuals still think Marvel can lose. they confirmed Avengers 5 is still happening. the DCEU died eating a wienerroach.

It will be the leader
Falcon will steal him from hulk like how iron man stole ultron from hank pym
He's a multiverse traveler. Just recast him white.
The Clairvoyant
It's Loki, he's already balls deep in multiverse shenanigans, Thor is still around and we've already seen a bunch of alt version of him
Stilt-Man
Taking all the post-endgame movies and TV shows into account, would it be possible to have Doom as the main bad guy going forward if they dropped all the Kang shit or would it be too moronic given how many multiverse plotlines there are?
SOMEHOW........
Ultron returned
Doom will wear him as armor
Dormammu could be cool if he's not a big fricking cloud again.
Get this fricking ape out of my sight and throw him in jail where he belongs
Since they've already established other universes it should be Ultron from a universe where he won and now he seeks to conquer other universes.
It’s going to be Galactus.
