The overall decline in interest in the MCU and especially the terrible Disney+ shows, and the association this one has with Captain Marvel pretty much doomed it. Captain Marvel was embarrassingly bad and her presence ruined Endgame. The MCU was already on the verge of breaking after Black Panther but Captain Marvel was an absolutely PATHETIC movie. Marvel's brand is in the shitter.
Captain Marvel was extremely successful
for many unrelated reasons and simultaneous leftist push aspects
It was successful because audiences liked the character
Incorrect
lmao what character? The one hiding behind the self-righteous c**t?
The rude sourpuss girlboss character? I don't think so. Let's have this conversation again after The Marvels drops
I'll see you after the Marvels.
After Brie Larson is in her 3rd straight billion plus grossing movie. Truly amazing.
Please get help Brie
you went too far, good bait is subtle
It was the final piece before End Game, it had the boon of being released peak Marvel
Disney literally bought their own tickets and gave them away, just like what they're doing with Indy 5.
>Source: Bounding Into Comics
yeah, okay
It was so earnestly successful that Disney isn't even letting her star in the sequel she has to share the spotlight
It was so successful Brie Larson even suggested no one wanted her back
It supposedly made, honestly of course, nothing devious from Disney, over a billion. Twice as much as any of the ant man's
And yet ant man just had it's third movie. Each time with Paul Rudd being the star
The only way captian marvel was successful was in making it easier to spot NPCs
>so successful it took ten years to get a sequel
any movie sandwiched between IW and Endgame would've been a smash hit
Success doesn't always correlate quality. For example, your mom's dirty pussy
I hope MCU is done for good now. I can't take anymore capeshit releases
Disney Marvel still has X-Men
and while all their movies were awful they could still make Fantastic Four a success since it does have name recognition and the premise sets it apart from most of the other hero movies
aaaaaand they made mr fantastic or inviswom/htorch ambiguously brown.
About that bro
>new FF is a Sue movie
>X-men is about transgenders
Not shitting you. The leaks say that the theme of mutants competing in school sports will be a main theme. Its unironically Joever unless Kevin Feige grows some balls.
>The leaks say that the theme of mutants competing in school sports will be a main theme.
But that's completely reasonable. How could they even make mutants sympathetic in this case?
These people think that it's just swell to have hulking 6 foot 6 males sign-up for womens basketball teams, so who the frick knows.
They probably just assume everyone will go
> awww those poor mutants aren't being allowed to do something they want, how mean!
Didn't Smallville have something like this, where Clark wanted to try out for the football team but his dad thought it was a bad idea because his super strength and speed and shit.
Probably like in X-men Evolution where Principal Kelly starts returning trophies and awards that the teams won because Jean was on the team and she said she didn't use her powers. So basically you have it so innocuous Muties just want to play sports and don't use their powers but they're ostracized as different. Flatscans will be characterized as unreasonable because there's effectively no difference between these mutants and humans like how they argue there's effectively no difference between a real woman and a trans woman.
You know they're going to frick up X-Men and FF by trying to connect it to some overarching MCU plot rather than making them their own movies.
I can see it now with this multiverse shit
>member Hugh Jackman? here he is for 6 seconds to drop a heckin crude FRICK bomb and make a quip xD
Brie Larson first outing as Captain Marvel netted over a billion dollars. Her next romp as Captain Marvel? Over two billion.
ok boomer
Brie Larsons last two movies netted over 3 billion dollars.
How long are you going to do this contrarian postironic thing
Shut the frick up, are you really that hungry for attention
It’s literally facts. I’m sorry your mad about it. 3 Brie-llion dollars.
>your
moronic ESL
Considering Fast X flopped hard, she must have been in Avatar 2 without us noticing
I believe she was.
Also doesn’t help calling an entire race of your (ex) fans nazis during the promo tour…
I got marvel fatigue in 2011, am I just a better person than you guys?
>The MCU was already on the verge of breaking after Black Panther
????
It literally made over a billion. Hell the second one even 850 million WITHOUT the main fricking character.
>Black Panther
what a piece of shit that was
Marvel's first real stumble was Age of Ultron. Up to that point I was genuinely excited for each new Marvel movie, they were an event, like Pixar. AoU was so bad it soured me on the whole thing and the appeal of MCU was never quite the same.
Haven't redditors given up on their homosexual boycott or whatever? Go back.
Pathetic attempt, capeshitcuck
>turn your movies into TV series
>whole thing becomes a fricking MMO fetch grind to understand a one off joke in an Antman movie that doesn't actually effect said movie
Endgame should've been the permanent finale tbh
Infinity War. I usually hate cheers and clapping in theaters but I just cluldnt help my self seeing black panther turn to dust.
But Samuel "L" Jackson said the audience are all incels?! How could it fail?
Capeshit tv show with no superhero.
With an actor playing Nick Fury who was supposed to be a mix of Ethan Hunt, 007 and John Wick, even over 60.
Samuel L. Jackson is one of the worst miscast I've ever seen, Feige has no idea what he's doing, and now people, normies are seeing this
>Feige has no idea what he's doing, and now people, normies are seeing this
They clearly didn't have any long term plan
Fantastic Four isn't a silver blue either, it's more of the same.
Feige had a vague idea of what he was doing for about 11 years.
It obviously wasn't all some grand plan, I'm sure most of the filler was asspulled, but sprinkling these motherfrickers
all the way since Captain America 1 was always charting a course towards "Everybody fights Thanos"
But the story's over. Tony is dead, Thanos is dead. It was no masterpiece beforehand, but after it just gets ever more meandering and pointless. I'm not surprised nobody cares. So many franchises have done this, especially on TV, their stories ended and they just kept going for a couple years after anyway until they died of apathy. Think Scrubs, Supernatural, even the venerated Buffy.
They're really wiffing about in the air trying to find something else with traction, and getting greedy in wanting to just keep making number go up more more more. It's not quite the golden goose parable but is more like they're foie-grassing the fricking goose laying golden eggs to try and get it to lay more. Or well, raping the goose is more accurate.
If Cameron was releasing blue-furry-OCs every fricking year or multiple ones a year it wouldn't do gangbusters either. Or if spiderman movies (which seem to do pretty well) were releasing with the same bloat they'd start tapering off too.
>X-men
The 2000 movie did well enough but xmen seems like fantastic four in being a cursed movie that just cannot do well. Which makes no sense for how much Xmen was next to spiderman and captain america and iron man in being THE IPs that us non comic book readers know about.
X-Men is great. People started to tune out once the MCU got bigger and they realized the X-Men movies weren't part of it.
Also the time investment people have to do in shows is just to big.
They still do have some cards up their sleaves though. Blade, X-men, Fantastic 4.
They tried way too hard to make the next phase of Marvel all about Spiderman, and then Sony cucked them first in the boardroom and then in the theatres with them doing what Marvel could never do and make Miles popular. It is clear that they then tried to pivot to characters like Cpt. Marvel, who despite her movie doing well ended up being an insufferable botch that no one wanted to work with, and Black Panther, who fricking died. Really its all about Marvel's past decision of panic selling of their most famous properties to companies against Disney like Sony that is screwing over Marvel today
SAMUEL L 'S SECRET SHOW
Go on, let BET have it in syndication. That's where it belongs.
>where did it all go wrong
hehe we cheeky funny about our own lore
HOW MANY APPLES DID YOU EAT?
YOU SAID I HAD TO EAT ALL THE EGGS
Loki and its consequences have been disastrous for the MCU
There even being a Loki show is absurd because he already had a great redemption arc and was the only fictional character I can think of who died heroically like a b***h, his sacrifice in the opening scene of Infinity War being the catalyst for the entire damn movie
women coomed at the literal genocide enthusiast and Disney saw money so they made the show
what's the cross from,blade?
infinity stones have no power outside their specific universe
also falcon and winter soldier was the one that really cheapened the brand
what the hell is this?
the Alternate Universe Time Traveling butthole Cops from Loki have so many Infinity Stones from failed/destroyed realities that they're worthless
wow thats moronic
captain marvel was good you idots
Cape threads belong on Cinemaphile and should result in an instant ban from this board
Guardians 3 > anything DC has made since the dark knight
the final nail in capeshits coffin will be when the marvels bombs.
im literally salivating at the thought.
The in-house MCU style is just exhausted at this point. They always try to say each entry is aiming at a different kind of genre, but everyone knows that's bullshit and they all look and feel the same at the end of the day. At least Daredevil felt wholly distinct from the rest of the MCU when he was on Netflix, but that's going to change with his Disney+ show no doubt. Time to stick a fork in it.
These streaming companies based their growth plans on the assumption that the profit gains they were seeing from everyone being stuck at home were going to continue indefinitely. Same reason why we're seeing all these proprietary "+" networks getting consolidated into what amount to cable packages
GO WOKE GO BROKE
In addition to almost every movie or show being outright terrible dice the last Avengers movie, they made a big mistake in not setting up the next big threat/villain right away. Instead we got over a year of every movie or show just meandering and treading water. That, combined with shifting focus to more recent awful characters from the comics who no one cares about or wants to get invested in. It's clear they didn't have much of a plan beyond shitting out half a dozen of these things a year and pushing their weird social agendas. It's too late to change course, capeshit movies and shows will fade away just like westerns eventually did 50 years ago.
Get woke go broke.
>start the whole thing with a fantastic movie and charismatic protagonist in Iron Man
>build up the "heroes teaming up" with like six movies
>Avengers came out and it's meh, people liked it somehow
>present Thanos as a menace for like 7 movies
>Thanos finally appears in a movie with a vibe of the final episode
>they inverted the premise and made a movie about Thanos wiping the floor with the heroes
>perfect conclusion with Thanos looking at the sunset after killing half of the universe
>somehow they keep going
I stopped after Endgame, but I consider Infinity War the last episode, there was no reason to keep going.
I just pretend the heroes fought bravely, but they found an enemy they couldn't defeat. So he killed half of the universe and lived the rest of his life in isolation. Fin.
Sort of funny how the franchise responsible for carrying the studio is now killing it.
They should have shot films in that period after everyone died, building up to the revenge. Going from Infinity War to Endgame was anticlimactic
it didnt help that infinity war was pretty good and endgame was horrible trash that started with homosexual america at some homosexual convention talking about homosexuals fricking. and then the cuck meme hulk and captaina marvel and...well you get the idea
It's difficult to go back to a solo hero movie where the protagonist needs to fight a small thief after the whole team faced the bad guy and lost when he killed half of the universe.
This would have been a lot better than what we got. They could have used it as a gateway to have some movies with a slightly darker tone and the few heroes who retained hope doing their best to keep things running and to try and find a way to fix things, culminating in an Endgame-like mission but more well-thought.
Hell if they wanted to set up other cosmic Marvel stuff that would have been the perfect time, as IW's final clash and Thanos using the stones surely would have attracted the attention of other cosmic entities, instead these idiots decided to try and set shit up after Endgame, fully expecting anyone to give a shit about a bunch of characters normies have never even heard of like Eternals.
I thought about this as well. It would've been a good segway back into the smaller scale movies of the earlier MCU. You also could've played with cool concepts like heroes who turned into villains because the snap broke them or villains who are angry at the heroes for not preventing the snap.
Could've had Daredevil dealing with a surge in crime with no Defenders after there's rioting and looting.
They could've just almost copied the exact plot of Black Panther 2. Namor loses someone he loves in the snap and is mad at the surface dwellers for failing and decides he's going to invade and frick them up and there's no T'Challa to help Wakanda.
I find it funny that Ms. Marvel did so horrible and we didn't hear a word about it. And she gets rewarded with her own film. Hmm...
>And she gets rewarded with her own film.
If only, but it's an ensemble film that was in production before the shows release, Disney also effectively buried the show by putting it out at the same time as Obi-Wan.
Why is Marvel so moronic. The had a winning formula that worked for the first 3 phases. Solo movies, then Avengers team up. That's literally all they had to do. Eternals haven't done anything since they debuted, same with Shang Chi, America Chavez hasn't shown up since the Doctor Strange movie. None of these characters have gotten a pay off that an Avengers team up movie would have given them. It makes watching the Eternals feel pointless. It gets people asking, why watch Secret Invasion when I watched the Eternals two years ago and there has been no payoff to watching that movie yet.
because all those characters suck and enough people at the company know it to try to minimize disasters.
you guys at like international billion dollar companies are a single guy making decisions regardless of favors, laws, contracts, etc
>>AI Title Design
Immediately cursed
take that wicked mouse
everyone knows this is practically the last installment of the old guards, they are replacing the old loved characters with ugly, woke, women with charisma like a brick wall.
I feel like the appeal of Secret Invasion is that the Skrulls are replacing actual heroes people care about. The series is obviously too cheap for some real cameos like Spider-man so all you're left with is a boring show about literal whos getting replaced by Skrulls. If that's the case the arc needs a major reinvention but I guess they're not going down that route.
>if you white boys don't like Brie Larson, then you're just a bunch of incels and this show ain't for you
>NOOOO WHY AREN'T YOU WATCHING OUR SHOW???
The show is a fricking snoozefest. You have 74yo Samuel L. Jackson playing the part of old man Fury that needs to get back in the game, when the dude was in his 60s already fricking old by the time of the first Avengers. That beginning scene in the second episode where it was a flashback, it was The Irishman tier. He can barely stand up straight anymore and he is stiff as hell. Then they kill off the one character that could have interesting action scenes just to have the first episode be impactful.
The show is suffers from the previous failures, a lead that should be in a nursing home, and a plot that doesn't have the compeling characters and dialogue to keep it interesting. Everyone just feels tired, bored, and just going through the scenes. I suspect that the next 2 episodes will be setups, second to last will hang on a cliffhanger and then the last one will have something impactful with a wetfart for a resolution. Disney is really dropping the ball, I stopped watching The Mandalorian S3 at the 4th episode, and this one I'm dropping on the 2nd. I think I gave it all I could being someone that has a high tolerance for slop.
You hit the nail there
I like Samuel L. Jackson but there isn't a single likeable black actor under 60 now
Sam Jackson without his Nick Fury eyepatch or Nick Fury jacket or Nick Fury SHIELD shit versus generic Star Trek alien randos
people don't want to watch it because it sucks
I thought I might like this as an Agents of Shield viewer but haven't checked yet
>secret invasion
>secret
>show byline tells us exactly who they are
Disney still doesn't understand that audiences aren't as moronic as they want them to be.
I want xmen not this homosexual woke pozzed nick fury Kanga Kinte
They got too wienery. Anyone with common sense would have immediately started the new phases off with the Fantastic 4 so they can set up Reed and Doom early and make some shit happen. Then you can have all the dogshit filler until some major crossovers or the Xmen. They did dogshit filler first, Fantastic 4 as delayed as possible. The brand won't recover from the sheer mediocrity of phases 4 and 5.
The plan was good in paper. We have all this goodwill after Avengers Endgame we will use this phase to experiment, test and see what sticks and what doesnt. "Maybe we can get our new Iron-man from it". Meanwhile we will throw oldgays a bone with Thor 4, Ant-man 3 and Guardians 3 (the 3 of them having great receptions in their last movies)
No one could imagine that every thing they made was dog shit. From the new heroes that were being tested to the old classic heroes. Everything is shit.
They got lucky Sony pulled the Spider-men out of retirement and its considered some sort of pseudo-maybe-mcu at the eyes of non terminally online people.
Samuel L Jackson has zero star power left. He can't fricking carry a show.
I just want more Sochil before her Mexican genes kick in and she hits the wall at 200 mph.
There are no lead superheroes. Why would you expect this to do better than Loki, Wandavision or Cap?
That's what TikTok is for. Disclaimer, I have no opinion on Xochitl's appearance.
Endgame was a really good jumping-off point. Following that up with a load of C-listers and, frankly, garbage Disney+ shows was a fantastic way to burn audience interest.
Infinity War was the high water mark but like Return of the Jedi, everyone can deal with Endgame being a bit shit because it's the grand finale
Only one character could save the MCU but they keep using his story lines for other characters
death to capeshit
>Sam Jackson playing Sam Jackson
Oh boy. Who gives a shit? Dude has gotten incredibly lazy with his roles except Django was a decent actual character that wasn't some meme version of himself.
>mediocre men
What did Nick Fury and War Machine mean by this?
my Marvel loving boomer dad kept calling it "Fury" and I had no idea it even existed until he was asking me to get it, so I'm gunna call this a marketing fail
Ike Pearlmutter said the shows were a bad idea and no one buys feminist shit and the media paraded images around with him and Trump together and he was fired recently. He was the only one trying to keep the money under control and they demonized him and fired him. There are still some oldschool israelites who understand you have to give the goyim a good product as you undermine them and take their shekels he was one of the last. Now they think they can undermine you and give a bad product and surpise the Goyim resist.
I think it’s because the Leftwingers that crafted the NWO in the decades after WW2 are all old decrepit farts now and the new generation just can’t muster it
The entertainment industry has always been a Leftie propaganda machine, but back then the Left was less radical than it is today so it was more subtle, nuanced, and palatable to the average person.
The Left today just keeps growing more and more unhinged and they literally can’t help themselves but scream in your face
>THIS IS PROPAGANDA!!! YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!!
Which is why you see more and more people pushing back against the Left because it couldn’t be anymore obvious. It’s gonna keep getting crazy because the Machine is basically flailing around on the floor and practically throwing up propaganda all over itself
Only question is how does it end
I WANT NEW MUTANTS KINO
Capeshit fatigue is setting in
only good thing about this show is 2000 ruskies dying in explosions
Captain Marvel had the Superman problem with her being too OP and whats worse is Captain Marvel has no kryptonite which is why in this next movie they have to nerf her by having her randomly get teleported around
>Captain Marvel had the Superman problem with her being too OP
Also the apparent Worf problem where she abruptly jobs to Thanos, Wanda and Ultron in her last three appearances
She didnt job a single time she was just "needed elsewhere"
Thanos yeeted her so hard she fell out of the fricking movie, Wanda simply crushed her to death with a big statue and Ultron admittedly had the hardest time with her, in that it took him 30 seconds to kill her when he killed everyone else instantly
Yea but she was never in danger thats my point. It was like in a 4 man WWE wrestling match where right at the start 2 of the wrestlers get knocked out of the ring and lay outside so others can fight its the same dishonest bullshit
Prediction. Phase 4 and 5 are going to be such a mess that Marvel is going to end up doing a soft reboot of the entire MCU. It'll probably also be their way to introduce the X-Men. But the soft reboot is going to have the unintended consequences of alienating a lot of fans once they realize the 20+ years of Marvel movies they watch has just been hand waved. It'll be the straw that breaks the camels back and drive away even the most die hard MCU fans.
>reboot
why not just do the "IT'S A HECKIN OTHER MULTIVERSE" like they've done for the entire phase 4 and 5
imo itll be both. there is a comic event called secret wars which was a way of bringing characters from different alternate universes into the mainline continuity. id imagine they'd do something similar with the mcu; some event is threatening the multiverse and the solution is to consolidate it into a new universe/timeline that happens to include the x-men, f4 and the remaining mcu characters/actors.
Because the purpose of a reboot in comic books is to get rid of the excess baggage. Storyline gets too convoluted. Or you have too many bad story arcs that you wish you could undo. You made a decision fans ended up hating. So you do a reboot to wipe the slate clean. Just changing the setting to a multiverse where the X-Men exists doesn't solve the problem of Antman basically soloing Kang, or the Eternals not showing up during the Avengers level crises.
The issue is they usually end up throwing out the baby with the bath water, a bunch of fanboys get pissy or are writing the thing so you just end up getting them trying to sneak all their favorite parts back into the new canon and you end up in the same exact place. A poorly written convoluted mess of stories that mesh poorly because Editorial is wrangling cats.
>This isn't FOR YOU INCELS
>FRICK OFF LOSER NERDS
>WE HATE YOU HERE IS AN ENTIRE SHOW ABOUT HOW WE HATE YOU
>w-where did you go come back.....
I like it so far (2 episodes) because it doesn't come over as cape shit.
Turning the Skrulls into misunderstood immigrants
>Plot is about how russians are not evil but misunderstood and that some alien chink race is pulling the strings to make them hate americans
it couldn't have dropped at a worse moment
That sort of gay shit flew when it was more obscure in comic books. Tying real life events in like this in video where everyone will cringe is hilarious.
>Plot is about how russians are not evil but misunderstood
Wasn't that the plot of Black Widow?
>some alien chink race is pulling the strings to make them hate americans
Wasn't that the plot of Captain Marvel/Agents of Shield?
jesus they're even ripping off their previous productions.
Any multiverse shit just kills my interest.
Oversaturation and no coherency. The reason people hate comic books to begin with.
Unironically the reason why capeshit is dying because the whole wave of MCU, Harry Potter, NuWars crap was a psyop by the Establishment to create a few generations of lib-leftists to oppose the rise of nationalism and populism and defeat Trump
2020 was literally the climax of all those efforts and they basically jizzed so hard their organs spewed out. The Propaganda War Machine is all dried up…..for now
Deadpool will probably be good
