it was p good, just got done with it. I'm also reading Harry Crosby's book right now and he never cheated on his wife so I rather dislike the sex scenes
The series is fricking awful and uses historical revisionism, as far as I can see, to save on budget, and at worst to rewrite history for the inevitable Tuskegee airmen to show up flying P-51s, so they can save the day for 'black activism' points
Let's take the schweinfurt raid for example. Not only were the B-17s in this raid escorted by P-47s all the way to Germany in real life. These P-47s also intercepted a full Squadron of 20 German fighters and dispatched all of them with only ONE loss of one P-47 before they finally started running out of fuel and had turn turn back home to England, and this is after they crossed into the German border.
Not only is this not shown in the show. but in the schweinfurt raid episode, the P-47s didn't even have enough fuel to fly across the fricking English channel according to the characters, and thus didn't even engage the German fighters they shot down in real life during that raid, this is all done purposely to set up episodes 8 and 9. Black person 51s.
This is the pathetic shit passing as "history" in this shit show that you're watching. It's fricking garbage trash
>This is the pathetic shit passing as "history" in this shit show
You'd have to be a braindead moron to consider anything with Spielberg's name on it ‐ let alone anything made by Hollywood - history. Which, granted, most people who actually signed up to watch it on Crapple TV+ probably do.
But they'll also forget about it a week after the show ends, if they even finish it and will only remember it for shirtless Elvis and woah speshul effeks so kewl.
It might get the Emmy the for best minseries but only because Apple will throw a frickton money behind the the awards campaign.
But most of the anons in this thread are like you and unhappy with the show after watching BoB and The Pacific or are just looking for a show to pass the time.
We know it's not history, calm down.
Do you think if they realized the clown world they were fighting for where gays, Black folk, women, and invasive illegals run their country, they would have landed their planes and joined the Luftwaffe?
Yeah, I've lost interest in it. It hasn't gripped me the same way BoB and The Pacific did. I watched both of those as they aired. Watching BoB as a teenager I was awestruck. Watching The Pacific 10 years later, I can remember watching episodes 5 and 6 as they aired and being on the edge of my seat the entire time during the battle scenes. Maybe I'm just getting older but this show just doesn't do it for me.
I'm considering watching this, is it air battle kino or is it propaganda where I'm meant to find them unequivocally good and heroic for carpet bombing women and children?
I'm not going to add an opinion on the war itself, I'm more curious how it portrays specific actions taken. Like you'll see propaganda to justify the Iraq war, but you won't see them including drone strikes of civilians in that. If they did, that's kind of how I feel about strat bombing.
I would have massive respect if it cut to a shot of the targets they were bombing though
In the early episodes the Americans criticize the Brits for their indiscriminate night time bombing, believing their more vulnerable daytime raids are worth it because they have military targets. Later they're ordered to bomb a rail yard in a city center and most object to it because they know they'll be hitting civilians, but they do it anyways. Bombings are always shown from the bombers perspective but at one point some captured pilots are marched through a bombed out city block and they show Germans trying to pull people out of the rubble. Could have been a meaningful humanizing moment of reflection but instead it's just there to show the average German citizens beating the POWs to death with shovels and bits of rubble.
Anyone else just skip the women scenes and other bs. Yeah I get it, pilots fricked loose british bawds and polish prostitutes. Big deal, just bomb the cities already and die
You know how Tom Hanks, as producer, gave his son a role in Band of Brothers? Imagine if Chet Hanks got a lead role in this? Like, made him a Tuskegee fighter pilot. Because he's such a wigger
I didn't like Leckie honestly. So much of his character was around how horny he was and his troubles getting women and I just didn't give a frick at all.
Okinawa was probably the best segment of either series in my opinion.
1. Generation Kill
2. BoB
3. The Pacific and it isn't that bad, it's just brutal. Frick Melbourne.
4. MoA, will I ever even finish this? I'm on episode 3. Just soulless, CGI planes taxiing depress me more than I thought they would.
Sidney Philips is an underrated character in the show, at least in the early episodes. His story is expanded a lot in the companion book.
The thing I don't like about the Australia episode is that they made Leckie out to be some lovelorn virgin who fell in love with a single girl. In real life he was banging women left and right and even dodging one woman who claimed he got her pregnant.
>The pacific was so bad
high as moron opinion. > Basilogne > Snafu, Bill, Leckie, Gunny > buncha dead nips
it started slow
Generation Kill / BOB didn't have a bunch of domestic exposition to slow it down.
1. Generation Kill
2. BoB
3. The Pacific and it isn't that bad, it's just brutal. Frick Melbourne.
4. MoA, will I ever even finish this? I'm on episode 3. Just soulless, CGI planes taxiing depress me more than I thought they would.
Adding on, the depiction of Basilone's Medal of Honor moment might be the best scene in all of those shows combined. Absolute brutality & the actual shock of "what the frick did I do, what happened?" that happens to him and all the other troops. He just mows down EVERYONE.
>like 40 minutes without intro, credits, and next-time-on
its like a sitcom formula > 5 min ACTION scene > 12 REMF officers party > 10 romantic interest > 7 min "REMEEEMBER NAZIS R BAD, MKAY?" > 5 min Air Field take off / landing
Ok, but I'm still not watching it. Also, season 2 is going to cancelled unless some richo mofo hands over a pile of his own cash to a big studio to make it.
If anything I like that the chapters that are put out are wrong so when I skip the disjointed opening credits I get the last 20-30 seconds of triumphant music.
I wish I could become an aviation enthusiast
Does anyone know of any good films set in WW1 to WW2 which give a good idea of what the skies looked like during battles?
If you enjoy old flicks, Hell's Angels (1930) is good. Made by Howard Hughes, because he was autistically obsessed with planes. And because it was made so soon after the war. It has a tonne of real WW1 aeroplanes. Stunt piloted by real WW1 pilot veterans. Doing stunts so dangerous that several pilots were killed during production.
Better start reading pilot memoirs. Most filmmakers have no idea what air combat should look like, let alone WW scale air combat, and it's rare for the few that do to get the means to actually put it on screen.
If you don't mind animation, Miyazaki's The Wind Rises and Porco Rosso have some short wartime scenes and the guy's notorious plane and military autism really shows. The latter also has a few great dogfights, but it's peacetime stuff.
they do, its just geared towards audience expectations. realistic air combat is boring if all youve seen is star wars, and thats what most directors are going for. also if you were to show how the actual fighter aces fought you would just see someone diving from the sun against unaware opponents. carrier battles were probably the closer equivalent to what we have in the show in terms of target saturation.
Imagine if we got a show about the Cactus Air Force, and the entire show was filmed on location at Henderson Field. You could show all the attacks of IJN against it, and the carrier battles that utilized it. Guaranteed kino.
it was p good, just got done with it. I'm also reading Harry Crosby's book right now and he never cheated on his wife so I rather dislike the sex scenes
homie just play war thunder
>war troony
go back to your dead general
this series sucks ass
your mother sucks ass

Yeah, so? We don't fricking care
everyone gave up
Did you know 12.5 million israelites died in the Holocaust? That’s more than a 3rd of the population of California.
It's well-made slop, undemanding, comfy cos you already know "USA won" in spite all the Nazi engineers scientists were imported to run NASA.
it's well-made but boring. Shame, really
Do you think if they realized the clown world they were fighting for where gays, Black folk, women, and invasive illegals run their country, they would have landed their planes and joined the Luftwaffe?
Patton literally said we fought for the wrong side when everything was said and done
Patton literally believed he was a reincarnated ancient Roman legionnaire too.
More accurately, he thought he was the reincarnation of Alexander the Great.
>Ep7 is out
Episode 8 is also out btw, will be under "The New Look s01s05" non-repack name because appletv fricked up
The audio is screwed up tho. No need to post this.
I'll watch it tomorrow.
Yeah, I've lost interest in it. It hasn't gripped me the same way BoB and The Pacific did. I watched both of those as they aired. Watching BoB as a teenager I was awestruck. >Getting older
It’s probably not that because the previously mentioned are still fun to watch.
>Episode 8 is also out btw
haven't been able to find a fixed version of e08, if any anons have seen it around could you let us (me) know please
I'm considering watching this, is it air battle kino or is it propaganda where I'm meant to find them unequivocally good and heroic for carpet bombing women and children?
It’s propaganda to justify the indiscriminate bombing of Germany and her Allies. The Allies were the real war criminals, look at Dresden.
There’s a scene where Hitler is standing on the podium and one of the pilots kamikazes him and the war is over. It’s a fictional show.
Anyone else just skip the women scenes and other bs. Yeah I get it, pilots fricked loose british bawds and polish prostitutes. Big deal, just bomb the cities already and die
haven't skipped anything but the one american prostitute from episodes 2-3 had some of the worst acting I've ever seen
I just skimmed through the episode and it seems like there is about 2 minutes of actual airplanes again
You know how Tom Hanks, as producer, gave his son a role in Band of Brothers? Imagine if Chet Hanks got a lead role in this? Like, made him a Tuskegee fighter pilot. Because he's such a wigger
I would unironically come back for that
>Dad, what did you do during the WHITE BOY SUMMER?
Useless israeli banker war like every single war those dirty money changers have been involved in. All wars are israeli harvests.
After the brilliance of B.O.B, The pacific was so bad that i'm not even going to bother with this apple+ horse shit.
Sledge and Snafu episodes > B.O.B > The rest of the pacific
Leckie was the best character. Except the Melbourne episode, which was fictional anyways so it doesn't count.
I didn't like Leckie honestly. So much of his character was around how horny he was and his troubles getting women and I just didn't give a frick at all.
Okinawa was probably the best segment of either series in my opinion.
The Peleliu episodes are my favorite. You could take all of Leckies and Sledgehammers scenes across 4-5-6 and make it into a movie.
Sidney Philips is an underrated character in the show, at least in the early episodes. His story is expanded a lot in the companion book.
The thing I don't like about the Australia episode is that they made Leckie out to be some lovelorn virgin who fell in love with a single girl. In real life he was banging women left and right and even dodging one woman who claimed he got her pregnant.
>he thinks brothels count
Average women in the 40s weren't having casual sex
Bruh leckie is annoying and the whole love story is gay as frick not here to watch a fricking soap opera here to watch japs get mowed down
>The pacific was so bad
high as moron opinion.
> Basilogne
> Snafu, Bill, Leckie, Gunny
> buncha dead nips
it started slow
Generation Kill / BOB didn't have a bunch of domestic exposition to slow it down.
No one cares.
1. Generation Kill
2. BoB
3. The Pacific and it isn't that bad, it's just brutal. Frick Melbourne.
4. MoA, will I ever even finish this? I'm on episode 3. Just soulless, CGI planes taxiing depress me more than I thought they would.

what happens in the latest eps? Black pilots save everyone? stopped watching after ep 3.
>Black pilots save everyone?
sheeeeiiiit
finna bout dat
bussin up in dey guts
>another short ass episode
like 40 minutes without intro, credits, and next-time-on
>like 40 minutes without intro, credits, and next-time-on
its like a sitcom formula
> 5 min ACTION scene
> 12 REMF officers party
> 10 romantic interest
> 7 min "REMEEEMBER NAZIS R BAD, MKAY?"

next episode will be good right
this is still going? you shills haven't been talking about the episodes before and stopped at episode 2.
There are still a few threads a couple days after it airs but yea, even the people that seemed to be enjoying it stopped discussing it here.
Because it's shit on every level.
Mediocre writing, over reliance on shit CGI, bad acting.
Boohoo Hitler lost. Suck it up wigger losers
It's been 80 years and they're still whining. When the Nazis literally only killed Europeans lol
It's just bad. Bad CGI, bad writing.
practical effects instead?
Is the actor in the middle the one that was crying for losing the Oscars to brandon fresiure?
Ok, but I'm still not watching it. Also, season 2 is going to cancelled unless some richo mofo hands over a pile of his own cash to a big studio to make it.
>season 2
???
I got bored with it, Im on the episode when the annoying drunk captain or whatever gets shot down, i dont think im gonna continue
If anything I like that the chapters that are put out are wrong so when I skip the disjointed opening credits I get the last 20-30 seconds of triumphant music.
its all a prequel to Hogans Heroes
name a more unlikeable human being
my wife
can't stand his ugly mug
> ah zink ah kahn helps wit ze whole 'buck' / 'bucky' thing
I'd somehow missed they were in The Great Escape pow camp
great opportunity for a chet hanks cameo. playing a steve mcqueen type escapee
you now remember the D-Day invasion being saved by Tuskeegee Syphillis Experiment
>good morning saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
IIRC he was wearing parachute and the video cuts just the moment before he opens.
I wish I could become an aviation enthusiast
Does anyone know of any good films set in WW1 to WW2 which give a good idea of what the skies looked like during battles?
The Battle of Britain (1969) is the closest you'll get
If you enjoy old flicks, Hell's Angels (1930) is good. Made by Howard Hughes, because he was autistically obsessed with planes. And because it was made so soon after the war. It has a tonne of real WW1 aeroplanes. Stunt piloted by real WW1 pilot veterans. Doing stunts so dangerous that several pilots were killed during production.

My penis is really tender and sore i jacked off quite a lot today
What game is this
Pretty sure it's DCS, I don't think IL-2 GB has AI B-17s.
>bring back the cutest girl on the show so far
>she doesn't get nude
gay
The only people who seem to talk about this show anymore are yaoi fangirls who want Buck/Bucky to have prison sex. The frick happened?
Imagine if we got a show about the Cactus Air Force, and the entire show was filmed on location at Henderson Field. You could show all the attacks of IJN against it, and the carrier battles that utilized it. Guaranteed kino.
>the entire show was filmed on location at Henderson Fie-ACK
even Masters characters are more interesting than The Pacific ones. Pacific was dull as shit
The Pacific, the main character was the war itself.
