Unless Evil-Lyn is shown being absolutely humbled and works for her redemption then it has already become incompatible with the biblical portrayal, turning into the effortless and unmerited arcs you see in modern works.

Ehhhhh, that's debatable in Christian theology.
You are mistaking it Grace/Salvation, which is seen as free in Christian theology, but every single sinner character in the Bible had to go through a redemption arc to finally see eye to eye with Jesus and turn a new leaf in their lives. From the Old Testament with Nebuchadnezzar to the New Testament with Paul, and many others.
You've got this backwards, actually. Salvation/grace is something that has to be chosen, but redemption is quite literally free in Christian theology, that's what the crucifixion did, redeem all of mankind.
