Matt and Trey are such babies that they can't accept that "Trick of the Tail", "Wind and Wuthering", and "Duke" makes everyone of their crappy theatre songs sound like shit.

South Park as a whole is just an excuse for them to broadcast their opinions on national tv.
South Park started off as a wacky cartoon with moronic humor made by two guys who spent their time getting stoned and watching Monty Python’s Flying Circus
And it was great
When they started satirising everyday topics which can be applied to most countries like tinfoil hat alien theories and poor sex ed in schools, it worked
It started going downhill when it became Trey’s commentary on American politics and then a way of coping with his own midlife crisis (the Stan depressed episode and the likes) and Matt not giving a frick anymore
It's very telling that all of the truly great episodes of South Park have little to nothing to do with current events or popular culture.
Matt and trey are homosexuals because they kissed each other
Iconic
Hot
They didn't lose to those songs, though.
I do wonder
If Peter Gabriel did the Tarzan soundtrack instead of Phil, would Matt and Trey ALSO make fun of him?
Heck, what if it was Mike Rutherford? Or Tony Banks who did the Tarzan soundtrack? Would they get the same treatement?
Phil Colins is hateable for reasons other than Tarzan. Why do you think that movie factors into their ridicule?
Tony Banks is far more hateable than Phil Collins ever was.
Fricking arrogant tyrant
Say that again and see what happens.
What happens is that Tony Banks, being the crybaby that he is, throws a tantrum and copes and seethes by making another album of shitty synthesizer tones.
Go to bed Steve
Yes, Collins hated for reasons beyond Tarzan. Butt Matt and Trey specifically only targeted him because they lost an oscar. Such sore losers.
(zoomie)
Tarzan and the South Park movie were both in the running for the Oscar for Best Original Song, and naturally Disney won. Trey played up being a sore loser about it every chance he got for years afterwards. It's the ONLY reason for the ridicule. "You'll Be In My Heart" winning is the sole reason for the "beef".
Not a zoomer by a long shot, but didn’t know about the beef. I thought they made fun of Phil Collins because he was easy to pick on like Brian Boitano.
Take this, then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrprnrG_rEA
Peter Gabriel is actually a pretty chill guy unlike Phil Collins so I imagine a joke with him would’ve been less cruel and more wacky. Trey and Matt would’ve probably made something akin to the Sledgehammer music video.
Speaking of which, Shock the Monkey was used in an episode a few seasons later when Stan tried to get Wendy back. Only for Token to show up. Implying Stan is calling him a monkey for well…you get the idea
>If Peter Gabriel did the Tarzan soundtrack instead of Phil, would Matt and Trey ALSO make fun of him?
YES, yes they fricking would.
That's how much of sore losers Trey and Matt are.
>South Park if Mike Rutherford beat them at the oscars:
Mike: Ello mate, I'm Mike Rutherford. And I wrote that shit sappy ballad about my dad and I also can't sing for shit
>South Park if Tony Banks beat them at the oscars:
Tony Banks: I'm gonna mix you Colorado wankers low in the mix, just like I did with Steve.
>South Park if Steve Hackett beat them at the oscars:
Steve Hackett: I exist
WELL
I MEAN
Spicy take: the OST to Tarzan might be Phil Collins' best album
POV: You’re a zoomer
Then losing the Oscar also led them to making the The Book Of Mormon musical, so fair trade
whatever Cinemaphile despises, is loved by everyone around the world. even weirdos outside of Cinemaphile.
Wind and Wuthering and Duke are extremely mid tracks.
Those aren't tracks you doofus, they're albums.
Where are the new specials Parker?
I thought so too, but upon looking into Phil and generally not liking his music, I’m okay with this petty jab.
In the Air Tonight is pretty sick though
