    >realism
The guy is a glorified brand name that gets WAY to much credit for the stuff he attaches his signature than he should, but is he actually quoted to having said that? Iirc the whole thing was about barefaced shilling not being less embarrassing than disguised shilling.

This. Say what you will about Seth McFarland; he at least voices principal characters on all of his shows so that he's actually part of the fabric and production of it.

Wasn't he banned from the writers' room because his "jokes" were way too absurd and wacky?

      >Realism

So that’s why the Simpsons is soulless.
It’s not a cartoon it’s just live action but cartoon.

Matt hated The Critic because it was funnier and more creative than The Simpsons ever was. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was responsible for getting it cancelled

In a better world we would've gotten more Jay Sherman after his series ended while the Simpsons was still good. Maybe Coming Attractions would be something that shows up when the family watches television. Jay would have a handful of episodes with a focus on him that would be fondly remembered.

Kind of like how Scar came to Billy and Mandy.

The Critic was one of the first 'Simpson-likes'. Before the floodgates of animated sitcoms opened. He probably was wary of his show not remaining special.

ironically its one of my favourite episodes, its just funny. of all the guest stars from other shows Jay is one of the only ones that genuinely feels like he belongs in the Simpsons universe.

    >realism
    >literally the 7th episode of the entire series is about The Simpsons getting lost in the woods, at which point Maggie befriends a family of bears who take care of her by stealing an improbably amount of baby food/toys, which Homer and Bart falling off a cliff into a raging river off of a waterfall and live

Sure, Matt. I assume what he was ACTUALLY mad about is that it was a cross-over with a cartoon made by former Simpson's showrunners that was running on a rival network. He didn't want his viewers learning about it and going to watch the show made by the guys who established The Simpsons as a true staple of American television.

Al Jean is a sniveling homosexual who never could handle his shit show died in the shadow of the Simpsons. Matt should have treated him worse.

I don't even like Al Jean, but Matt is just a shitty Epstein lover who's busy milking his own cartoons rather than giving a shit about a show like The Critic.
