>Pyro is not an overpowered class and people who say that just suck at Sniper, Heavy, and Engineer
How does it feel to know there is a circle of hell devoted specifically for creatures like you?
it's overpowered in the sense that the amount of skill it takes (ie zero) rewards you with kills solely from clusterfricking around corners and suiciding
It does take some skill to reflect a rocket or hit a sniper with a flare. But if a pyro is just hiding or running forward I don’t see how a Heavy can’t deal with him
a scout soldier or demo arent going to half hp a heavy if they walk into him. on top of that the pyro in tight spots aoes better and again is the lowest skill class. it's also a pain to compensate for latency when the pyro circle strafes while waving his flame in your face (t. facestab king of spies). the hate is justified because it's such a nuisance
I don’t know that it necessarily was. The doctor’s program just showed that it could happen. We see the Thing build a ship, which could simply be to get the frick off our planet, seeing as the opening shot is it crashing here.
There is no way that ship was intended to be able to exit our atmosphere and travel through space, it was making something that could get it far away from Outpost 31 in case things went bad and closer to the coast where it could have a chance to get picked up by others.
Bait, sure, but anyone who hasn't should read the short story "Things" about the movie from the alien's perspective.
It's not a great story but pretty interesting
>Read the wiki
bruh, the story is like 3 pages long. anyway its quite horrifying the way it talks about snuffing out peoples consciousness and how its going to rape its way into their bodies
>you dont understand that thing wants to freeze again >so we should blow up everything leaving us without any supplies and heat so we suffer a freezing death with it
love the 80s
Mac killed the last guy who tried to stop him
Mac was dangerous and only Childs was ballsy enough to stand up to him (but not when he's holding a stick of dynamite and a light
no, because it invades and copies cells perfectly it effectively can't be targeted by the immune system. only if a base level thing-viron or infected thing-cell entered your blood could you resist it by luck if a white blood cell eats it before it invades one of your cells
>only if a base level thing-viron or infected thing-cell entered your blood could you resist it by luck if a white blood cell eats it before it invades one of your cells
Wouldn't be cool if it were possible they had made that. I'm not saying the character had to be sue or Gary stue character.
Could have done something where Mac was drunk and the alcohol in his blood made the Thing briefly recoil from attempting to assimilate him. The Thing would presumably recognize that as a poison.
>Mac wouldve been exposed to a particle of the thing at some point and be it
obviously if you treat the thing with total real world logic this would be an issue, but within the movie it doesnt seem to work like this, otherwise you could say every character is the thing because at some point the thing could have rubbed a little of its spit on them. whether or not childs is a thing is deliberately ambiguous and has no answer.

I think you underestimate how deep it goes when I use the Phlog-Scorch Shot combo
pyros can blow back other pyros, they're easy to kill with even the slightest amount of teamwork
it's overpowered in the sense that the amount of skill it takes (ie zero) rewards you with kills solely from clusterfricking around corners and suiciding
It does take some skill to reflect a rocket or hit a sniper with a flare. But if a pyro is just hiding or running forward I don’t see how a Heavy can’t deal with him
other than if the heavy is in open ground and the pyro advancing on him you're still gonna lose like half your hp + afterburn to some zero skill moron
That’s what food or the medic is for
so it takes 2 classes to counter your one, how is that not OP?
This is the case for every single role in the game. Pyro gets unreasonably hated on because people don't map control properly or roll with a medic.

I don't understand the final plan. Why not just find and destroy the Blair-Thing and then turn the generator back on and survive?
The generator was gone. Not broken. Gone.
.t The thing
I'm not the Thing. And if I was, I certainly wouldn't tell you.
dubs and its not you, singles and i'll let the flames do the talking
>then turn the generator back on
you were looking at your cellphone instead of watching the movie
Kramer is taller than both of them, and mac is actually shorter than jerry due to seinfeld bing 5'11 and russell 5'9.
WAY OFF
seems like the perfect moment to split up, right guys?
*stares*
It's been said again and again, but that dog is one of the best actors in the film.
He deserved a borkademy award
Why was the Thing trying to kill everything on the planet?
they never even said what he was angry about
You're not you when you're hungry.

it was only taking control of tasty hosts, anything else is not its problem
It wanted to dominate earth
>It wanted to dominate earth
Why did it seem like it was trying to escape earth?
Was that an attack spaceship?
It wanted to bring more of its kind
They don't know what it's end goal was but there is no world where you'd give it the benefit of the doubt.
What if you gave the Thing a settlement in Israel? Just let it chill and figure things out
its a space Black person and needs to die

Read the wiki, lame, I like it better as a horrifying consuming monster, not an assimilating biomass that think it's doing hte right thing.

It's a good thing that we don't have any things around these parts
I mean, none of you guys are the thing right? I sure aren't!
>you dont understand that thing wants to freeze again
>so we should blow up everything leaving us without any supplies and heat so we suffer a freezing death with it

Ye
why didn't anyone go like
"Hey Mac, that plan sounds a bit off, where's that blood test I think we should test you again."
Mac killed the last guy who tried to stop him
Mac was dangerous and only Childs was ballsy enough to stand up to him (but not when he's holding a stick of dynamite and a light
Mac wasn't infected.
Didn't say he was
He killed the kennelmaster, I forget his name
Shot him in the head
Clark.
Mac just took the test though. Literally.
He tested his own sample though. You're just going to let the thing investigate itself and tell you its not the thing and not independently verify?

Huh?

>contrarians arrive just in time to pretend to be moronic
Is it possible they could have made it that one of them would be resistant to the "thing" infecting them.
no, because it invades and copies cells perfectly it effectively can't be targeted by the immune system. only if a base level thing-viron or infected thing-cell entered your blood could you resist it by luck if a white blood cell eats it before it invades one of your cells

He offers alcohol to two things in the movie.
A cheating computer
And "Childs"
>fires got the temperature up all over camp.
>how will we make it?
>maybe we shouldnt.
K I N O
this type of dialogue absolutely shits on tarantino/sorkin try hard trash

Thing aside, it must be giga comfy to sleep in a research station in the antarctic.
just be careful with the penguins and the monoliths
Who would be the best/worst roommate?
I think windows and nawls would be very chill. I think the worst would be blair. I bet he farts a lot like all old people.
>best
Scarjo
>worst
Chris Chan
People go mad up there and start hating eachother over things like their breathing pattern or sitting somewhere they don't normally sit.
Macready was kinda sus ngl
the original "among us"
CRINGE
Maybe we're at war with Norway?
The Thing is a metaphor for homosexuality and trannies and the hidden danger they pose to society
Hidden now? Go on, what's their hidden danger?
That doesn't prove a thing!
HOLY SHIT
Who has been in contact with him recently?
SUS
WINDOWS BLAST HIM
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
WINDOWS!
back to /hor/, Dunne Spammer. That's your containment unit
I certainly know I'm not a the Thing. Can't speak for the other anons here.
I like to think they were both the thing at the end
frick you, stop trying to invade my privacy!
what's up mah homie
Ok so McCready and Childs are both pretty much guaranteed to be a thing at the end right?
Childs gets turned while the generator room is getting blown up.
Mac wouldve been exposed to a particle of the thing at some point and be it
the video game for ps2 is a sequel and shows childs frozen and macready picks up the main character in a helicopter
>Mac wouldve been exposed to a particle of the thing at some point and be it

There is more than enough evidence in the film to say that yes, Childs is a thing.
no there isnt
I know you gentlemen have been through a lot. But when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FRICKING THREAD
we are in fall
give it a month, anon. Winter's almost here.
YOU KNOW IT'S ME, ANON!
If only those damn Swedes knew how to speak English
It's pretty ridiculous that they staffed the arctic research base with the only Norwegians in the world that can't speak English.
SUPPLY WINDOW!
We got no choice now!
>tfw you get high with an extraterrestrial
bullshit ending
after everything he had gone through, he shouldve just killed Childs right there to be sure
okay but what was its tax policy?
