It simply isn't suppose to exist lol. There is absolutely no need for it.
DreamWorks needs to stop doing cheap TV shit and just keep making original movies.

Not a shitty DtTV movie with a 10 dollar budget that makes fricking Miraculous look like Arcane
When the movie in question came out 14 years ago, yes, at least around the same level as that. Especially with the kind of quality shit that can be made with Blender for free nowadays
Technically Camilla has a dodgy past but thats just propaganda from Dianagays who are still seething 30 years later or whenever Diana died because they think Camilla is the devil
I think its just a something thats always been a thing? I cant seem to recall a king and queen ruling at the same time at any point in english history
Only biopics
There IS a rumor that the director of master of disguise tried to get her to play a speaking role in that, don't know how far along that got though
Man the expressions look like tpose faces in like half the shots. In some they look okay but it’s literally distracting how little they emote in others.
The first show had a really great rogues gallery but occasionally bad characterisation for Po and the Five, not seen the other two shows as mostly just like the trilogy, might have the check all 3 shows out of curiosity
The dragon knight was a very weird with it's worldwide adventure. Had Jack Black voicing Po, but he seemed a bit bored sometimes. Also he was often in thr background while other characters were taking up the screan.
>Evil Syndicate didn't show up when news broke that he killed Metro Man >Evil Syndicate does show up when he's declared a hero >Evil Syndicate still thinks he's a villain
How about the fact that clearly Megamind never worked with someone else in the newspaper clips of his battles with Metroman? That it was strongly implied that Minion was his only friend throughout the years, which is why he can't pronounce things correctly and doesn't understand what large windows are and never has hugged someone before?
Is there even a need for this shitty retcon? Why does the story gain from him having been part of a villain group?
Megamind and Metroman always looked fine, but the other characters in this movie really looked like the product of a lack of art direction dealing with the limitations of CG standards at the time. So it's really weird to see that pretty much look the same all these years later.
Every Dreamworks series is a cheap 3D cartoon with scripts sanitized to the broadest audience possible. Other than the absolutely deranged King Julien show, all the others are the same generic slop
>tfw this is the sequel to megamind and not the tv show that got announced 2 years ago
Is this the first time a dreamworks movie gets a direct to dvd sequel? I know they have 8 billion slop shows but I can't recall an actual sequel
Should've gone with 2d animation for this shit like the Big Hero 6 series did. There's a severe limitation with 3d when these are meant to be battles between Superheroes and Supervillains and it's clear it's going to look lame as frick.
I think the worst thing is the unintentional uncanny valley high budget CG movies to low budget CG shows get
I can watch TMNT 2012 or Green Lantern TAS just fine but my brain simply doesn't wrap around characters from these high budget films moving so sluggishly
>megamind is the better movie but that second film and tv show will be worse than any despicable me product by a large margin
This is so unironically true, it hurts
Oh, absolutely. I was mostly laughing at the irony... considering Despicable Me 1 is widely considered as the main responsible for Megamind's "failure" at the box office.
why has no one mentioned how horrendous that black woman's design is
and i just say black woman because i watched muted and dont know if they said her name
I take it back.
Megamind should've known stayed dead. This is definitely made by the same people who worked on the Monsters vs Aliens TV show and the humor/animation shows that. What is wrong with cartoons nowadays? Are we just stuck in an endless cycle of bringing old shows back from the dead?
Yes, unfortunately and unironically. Creating new products means taking risks, which is less finanically stable because if shit flops that's money down the drain. Using preexisting works is something which is statistically reliable for making a profit even if the result is shit, so every company worth its salt is chasing that as hard as they can and doing their best to further expand franchises which already exist as well. This is why the past decades have been filled with this kind of thing and multiverse type antics.
Shit, all sources say Keith Ferguson is the one voicing Megamind, so... what the heck happened?
Were the voice director instructions to sound bad on purpose?
I hope this is just trailer voice, otherwise Megamind would have the worst Movie to "TV" voice transition of the last 20 years (or one of the worse, at least).
The OG Megamind was voiced by Will Ferrell nearly a decade and a half ago, weird VA shit is unfortunately to be expected.
I was kind of hoping the TV show would be a mini series with today's CGI, clever writing and with the original voice cast but deep down I knew it was just going to be another dreamworks show to add to the pile
At least one anon ITT is saying the original writers are involved, so there's some sliver hope for the writing of the show at least.
The original Megamind writers are involved apparently, but the moment I read it was a SEE-JHEE series, all expectations went down the drain. Shorter deadlines and a limited budget guarantee the whole thing'll look like shit, every time. They should've either gone the 2D route or come up with a stylized 3D approach using simpler models that can look expressive in motion. Take some creative liberties for once instead of hopelessly trying to mimic the look of a big-budget theatrical feature. When will Dreamworks LEARN

Instead of making the Doom Syndicate former teammates of Megamind's and contradicting the first movie where he was a loner and an outcast, they should've stuck with the original concept where they were B-list supervillains Metro Man dealt with while Megamind was in prison in between escapes. Even their gimmicks were more fun:
>Hot Flash: Hot MILF with fire powers >Psycho Delic: Keith David Poison Gas Pimp with an army of mutants who loves disco >Destruction Worker: Buff Guy who likes destroying shit and big weapons and explosions
Just the lamest way to mishandle this franchise, especially when they already had GOLD to work with.
I had no idea such a concept existed. Sounds great, what I missed the most in the movie was seeing more superpeople.
I would have loved to see superheroes trying to take down Megamind after MetroMan's death, but be utterly defeated. It would have shown that Megamind wasn't a subpar villain, rather MetroMan was too much of a hero.
this gives me home for something Guardians related. I'd settle for a bad kids tv show, I've got a toddler as an excuse. I need more bad ass Santa and Australian easter bunny
I didn't think it would be THAT unpopular or get attention at all but I guess it's a given with Megamind's rise in popularity over the years, even outside the memes.

A tale as old as time. We also get to see both outcomes since we’re getting both an actual sequel alongside an episodic show.

I'm so fricking sick of these sequels and shit that have no interest in the value of the original work and just exist solely to cash in and cheap out. Was it so hard to just... use penis music? What is this generic rock crap?

Why is dreamworks is so all over the place when it comes to quality.
What are you even doing on Cinemaphile,if you don't care about the entertainment the industry gives you? Most here however have something called "standards"
It was obviously made for people who watched the original back in 2010. They thought people wanted it, and in a way I suppose we did, but we didn't want this.

Just have it be flashing colors or keys, would save a shit ton of money or embezle it, also good
Over the hedge made so much more money plus game, toy, merch and book sales. Its comics are still going, the creator wants to bring it back and anthro characters are very popular nowadays. That should've been the one revived, frick.
Congrats megamind fans if you're excited but this was unfair to us. 🙁
Ps word on the street is that DW didnt animate this and whomever did was given way too little time.
>Dreamworks makes a TV show based on their movie >It looks and sounds like all their other generic TV shows based on their movies >This somehow confuses Cinemaphile
There's no way Cinemaphile is unaware that Dreamworks has a TV division that's been going on for over a decade because they spammed the Puss in Boots cat girl for a couple of months after the movie came out.
They're in a really rough spot with their tv animation where it's too good in a bad way.
Stuck right in an uncanny valley of looking closer to movie quality than ever, but now all you can see is how not the movie it is.
>cheap CGI >direct to streaming >rethreading one of the plotlines of the first movie >quirky strong teenage girl sidekick
So PiB2 was just lightning in a bottle right?
I'm still surprised they didn't make family sitcom comedy out of Shrek
>Shrek is working 9-5 job of scaring peasants and bullying fairy tale monsters >Fiona is a loving stay at home wife that reigns in everyone's bullshit when it gets out of control >the youngest, a boy, is a cinnamon bun that gets manipulated by his older siblings into doing dumb shit >the middle, also a boy, is Kevin the menace kind of brat >the oldest, the daughter, has to deal with her younger siblings and the fact that she's a butt ugly Ogre.
You could switch Fiona and Shrek as the working parent cause CURRENT YEAR and Shrek as stay at home dad would be funnier.
Or don't make them work at all because they're getting royal gibs for helping out the kingdom and their daily life is dealing with standard family stuff and occasional visitor
So why did all the citizens forgive Megamind for "killing" Metro Man and blowing up his museum? All he did was defeat a random supervillain on the same day he showed up.
Have you forgotten that those babies had access to the internet since they were born? Of course they would develop a messier slang than zoomers
It's crazy how fast they are changing the meaning of so many words in just a few years
It's the faces that are bothering me.
Megamind just standing around watching an innocent civilian about to be run down would be funny, but the whole time he has an annoyed expression on his face and he says his line in such an odd tone that I honestly have no idea if he is supposed to be amused by the situation or not.
The voice is all over the place. It probably is tough to go into this acting like Will Ferrel acting like Mega Mind. They’d probably be better off just having the voice actor do his own thing with it instead of imitating.
Wow........ that looks like complete garbage.
Did you unironically think it was gonna be movie quality?
It simply isn't suppose to exist lol. There is absolutely no need for it.
DreamWorks needs to stop doing cheap TV shit and just keep making original movies.
Anon, except TLW, the rest of modern Dreamworks movies looks like cheap TV shit.
When a new Megamind release happened, people expected an actual sequel given the success and cult following of the first one.
Not a shitty DtTV movie with a 10 dollar budget that makes fricking Miraculous look like Arcane
They literally announced it was gonna be a show from the start
>that makes fricking Miraculous look like Arcane
is that supposed to be desirable
animation wise i'm ok if it's lower budget since this seems the pilot for a series, but the writing is absolute garbage from the trailer
It looks and sounds like it belongs on PlayStation 2.
When the movie in question came out 14 years ago, yes, at least around the same level as that. Especially with the kind of quality shit that can be made with Blender for free nowadays
Looks like moronic shit for gays.
aren't those the homosexuals from the sequel game? does that mean Blue Tighten will show up?
it's over
everyone go home
>another thing to be tainted by current year
If Megamind can escape jail why can’t Tighten?
>there is no queen of england anymore
>new megamind
Full circle. It would only be made better if tighten was the one to kill her.
Isn't the king's wife the queen?
bong here
Camilla is Queen-Regent, yes its different than just being Queen
Is it because the previous queen will be the last queen ever to honour her legacy or does Camilla have a dodgy past?
Technically Camilla has a dodgy past but thats just propaganda from Dianagays who are still seething 30 years later or whenever Diana died because they think Camilla is the devil
I think its just a something thats always been a thing? I cant seem to recall a king and queen ruling at the same time at any point in english history
William and Mary of Orange.
They should have just made it megamind vs the queen of england
They would have gotten death threats from britbongs, but no one would understand them
Question... what was the overall British standing whenever the Queen made cameos or was a character in movies?
Only biopics
There IS a rumor that the director of master of disguise tried to get her to play a speaking role in that, don't know how far along that got though
>They should have just made it megamind vs the queen of england
This is a legit good idea.
britbongs don't care for the queen all that much actually.
Their own programming makes fun of her all the time.
Jesus what a let down
Oh so it's a direct-to-tv movie created to lead into the new series
What’s the point of this when you can shit out more Despicable Me and Minions which are by the same company?
10 years too late
Man the expressions look like tpose faces in like half the shots. In some they look okay but it’s literally distracting how little they emote in others.
Oh great, the quirky child tag along... every show needs one of those.
Yeah it really reeks of direct to dvd tier along with the inclusion of the little girl/sidekick character.
What is that voice for Megamind?
I know this is low budget and can't afford Will Ferrel, but it's painful to the ear.
don't adopt the kid, don't adopt the kid, don't adopt the kid
Why not? She's probably an orphan who spends her days feeding the poor and teaching long division to elderly war vet chimpanzees or some shit.
>and teaching long division to elderly war vet chimpanzees or some shit
Got an audible laugh out of me.
They will rob us of the chance to see this:
Race mixing is disneys thing not dreamworks
Has dreamworks ever given us a hybrid baby? They couldve w them, stella the skunk and tiger the cat or gloria and melman but didnt
Nightlights dont count really
>forgetting that one of their biggest mascots is the most race-mixing hybrid-promoting Casanova of the animation age.
Shit i did forget about donkey and elizabeth. I love the dronkies. Its early ok. And i havent watched shrek in forever.
>mfw I learnt that Shrek's dragon's real name is "Elizabeth" and not "Dragon"
hot
>Has dreamworks ever given us a hybrid baby?
Is Madagascar and HTTYD the only DreamWorks films whose tv show weren't ass and actually embraced by their fandoms?
How do people feel about the KFP stuff?
The first show had a really great rogues gallery but occasionally bad characterisation for Po and the Five, not seen the other two shows as mostly just like the trilogy, might have the check all 3 shows out of curiosity
yes
they're alright to a lesser extent
People didn't like Pussin Boots?
The dragon knight was a very weird with it's worldwide adventure. Had Jack Black voicing Po, but he seemed a bit bored sometimes. Also he was often in thr background while other characters were taking up the screan.
>People didn't like Pussin Boots?
Never saw people discuss it
I don't think Puss even had a fandom separate from Shrek UNTIL The Last Wish
I know we all want to forget about it but Madagascar fumbled with their third show
>Let's play charades
>The Mime doesn't immediately jump at the opportunity but can't articulate it because he's a mime.
Feels like a waste.
It looks like shit, it looks like Miraculous except way less expressive. 🙁
I have never been this bored from a trailer, impressive
>Evil Syndicate didn't show up when news broke that he killed Metro Man
>Evil Syndicate does show up when he's declared a hero
>Evil Syndicate still thinks he's a villain
Do these frickers watch the news? At all?
Maybe they were on holiday.
How about the fact that clearly Megamind never worked with someone else in the newspaper clips of his battles with Metroman? Popped
underrated

I think Minion design is fine. But I agree with the rest.
Every Dreamworks series is a cheap 3D cartoon with scripts sanitized to the broadest audience possible. Other than the absolutely deranged King Julien show, all the others are the same generic slop
I heard good things about Dragons and that it has the best villain in the franchise
Penguins of Madagascar was also pretty good
Those two were Nick cartoons and had slightly more budget and effort put into them. Same for that one KFP nick cartoon that got some awards.
3d tv series always look so shit
>tfw this is the sequel to megamind and not the tv show that got announced 2 years ago
Is this the first time a dreamworks movie gets a direct to dvd sequel? I know they have 8 billion slop shows but I can't recall an actual sequel
It's just the lead-in to the tv-show, probably the first three episodes cut together into one special
It’s both. Check the description.
>SAMEEEEE SHOOOOOOOOOW?????!!!
You scared me OP, thought it was a sequel
He's been back on Cinemaphile
Should've gone with 2d animation for this shit like the Big Hero 6 series did. There's a severe limitation with 3d when these are meant to be battles between Superheroes and Supervillains and it's clear it's going to look lame as frick.

BOOOOOOO!
>throws rotten fruit
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
It's 2024, why does TV series CGI still look so janky?
CG being less expensive than hand drawn is and always has been a myth. It's likely even more expensive now.
It's less effort than 2D
Source: Dude Trust Me
I saw the budget for Wish and I just don't understand why 2D isn't considered viable. These companies are bleeding money, and for what?
If the most fiscally responsible option was picked, then glove puppetry would've overtaken animation ages ago, but most people won't accept it.
outsourced to india
>Still laughing that Jankom Pog changed spacesuits in the same scene in Prodigy.
Looks same animation as movie. Dont see any difference, care to explain?
You never studied animation, that's your explanation.
Thanks mr Hollywood
Frick off.
How? It looks very slow.
You don't have eyes, that's the explanation.
I don't like it.
who is this i wanna frick her
no. 1
megamind
FAn.
Sauce?
>Antz
>Shark Tale
>Over the Hedge
>Flushed Away
>Bee Movie
>Rise of the Guardians
The only CG movies by DreamWorks that didn't get any expansions.
I love Flushed Away and I don't want it to ever get expanded. I'm glad it flopped, because it means no one will touch it and ruin it.
I too love Flushed Away and also am thankful it flopped and won't be ruined
That movie was the reason Aardman terminated their partnership with DreamWorks
Good. Roddy St James saves the day by ending partnerships.
Better than Chicken Run for sure.
sad
penguins of madagascar TV show looked better than that
>MEGAMIND
This movie was always mediocre, no matter what YouTubers say.
Even mediocre things can be enjoyable.
Ok, you're right. I'm still going to continue thinking that this movie is overrated but I'm going to agree with you.
I watch Shrek II only for 'I need a hero' and I watch Megamind only for PRESENTATION.
I don't actually like the rest of the movies.
>Megamind only for PRESENTATION.
Ironically, it's my least favorite scene in this movie.
Remember getting excited when things were getting revived by streaming? I think I did but for the life of me I can't remember anything.
Ain't making a continuation of the original film kinda missing the point?
Also
>capeshit
to the trash it goes
This sounds so fricking lame
https://twitter.com/dailymegamind/status/1753172665441911020
God, it must be so hard to come up with legally sound comic book names.
Why didn't they just make Puss in Boots season 7 after the last movie? Megamind is pretty old.
They would ruin Dulcinea
I blame zoomer video essayists for this.
Also we are supposed to be getting a bad guy's cartoon. It's going to be premovie like that shitty Christmas special.
how could you let this happen?
megamind is the better movie but that second film and tv show will be worse than any despicable me product by a large margin
>megamind is the better movie but that second film and tv show will be worse than any despicable me product by a large margin

>now this
kek
Will Ferrell is gonna voice the new villain in Despicable Me 4, so...
>mfw Will Ferrell betrays Megamind in favor of Despicable Me
Getting the original VA back doesn't always ensure quality
Oh, absolutely. I was mostly laughing at the irony... considering Despicable Me 1 is widely considered as the main responsible for Megamind's "failure" at the box office.
Guess it means once MM flops once again Illumination will definitely buy Dreamworks
onions. I don't understand why megamind suddenly became popular.
Cause the villain of Hal Jordan/Tighten was an incel when you looked back on the film and watching it after 2018 puts his character in a new light.
>"Megamind is now a superhero with villain humor!"
Who asked for this?
>megae-girl

I know. It's that just, knowing Keith's range, I'm surprised he couldn't pull a better Megamind.

And you're surprised?

>quirky tagalong kid
And dropped
All right, confess... who did it?
Cinemaphile with the no milly posting

Yet more shitty leftovers from Hollywood's microwave...
Why didn't they make anything else with Over the Hedge? It was the 11th highest grossing movie of 2006.
Because they already went Over the Hedge.
Who ask for this?
Me. It’s revenge for all the times Cinemaphile betrayed me.
>cheap CGI
>direct to streaming
>rethreading one of the plotlines of the first movie
>quirky strong teenage girl sidekick
So PiB2 was just lightning in a bottle right?
that's dreamworks line of work, make a really good movie once every few years and immediately go back to making slop
I'm still surprised they didn't make family sitcom comedy out of Shrek
>Shrek is working 9-5 job of scaring peasants and bullying fairy tale monsters
>Fiona is a loving stay at home wife that reigns in everyone's bullshit when it gets out of control
>the youngest, a boy, is a cinnamon bun that gets manipulated by his older siblings into doing dumb shit
>the middle, also a boy, is Kevin the menace kind of brat
>the oldest, the daughter, has to deal with her younger siblings and the fact that she's a butt ugly Ogre.
You could switch Fiona and Shrek as the working parent cause CURRENT YEAR and Shrek as stay at home dad would be funnier.
Or don't make them work at all because they're getting royal gibs for helping out the kingdom and their daily life is dealing with standard family stuff and occasional visitor
>Weren't the kids triplets?
stfu no one cares
Will they frick up his relationship with Roxanne?
Are they bringing back at least the holo-disguise watch?
So why did all the citizens forgive Megamind for "killing" Metro Man and blowing up his museum? All he did was defeat a random supervillain on the same day he showed up.
Because they're brown-nosers and they can't survive without someone to worship like a god.
what does sauceless mean? lame?
I have no idea.
It's zoomer gen-alpha speak for "not saucy", as in not spicy looking.
Soulless I guess?
>gen alpha speak
I THOUGHT THEY WERE STILL BABIES
I'M NOT READY TO BE OLD
oldest gen alpha are 13-14, old enough to be on twitter and engage in thoughtful discussion
>thoughtful discussion
you mean to tell me a 14 year old's political views are not thoughtful? you're crazy
Have you forgotten that those babies had access to the internet since they were born? Of course they would develop a messier slang than zoomers
It's crazy how fast they are changing the meaning of so many words in just a few years
>Peawiener
Kek, these shitty streaming services...
They’d probably be better off just having the voice actor do his own thing with it instead of imitating.
>forced child character
FOR FRICKS SAKE
She looks very generic. Like the girls from the Spirit show.
le dreamworks face
Did they nerf Roxanne's butt? I can't see it
>MEGAMIND IS BACK!
As a Chilean politician.
Does anyone think Roxanne licks Megaminds balding head?
Or let his blue wiener and purple balls rub all over her face?
>blue wiener and purple balls
Hhhot.
