New 24/7 USA broadcast channel dedicated to animation is launching on June 25th. Lineup is insanely intensive and runs from the 1920s to the early 2000s, mostly Warner Bros and Hanna Barbera catalog but also many other studios like Universal and Fleischer contributing. Basically promising to be what Boomerang used to be or Cartoon Network was at launch.

Any word on what the full line-up will be?
The website trailer drops some names

Okay, cool. Looks like there's lots of classics. Kind of surprised Omi from Xiaolin Showdown is featured in the banner as that's a 2000s cartoon, wonder if any others from that era will be featured
Duck Dodgers and Krypto are on the list too
Kwicky Koala chads won

Ok but that theme song actually bangs

GET
THE
FRICK
OUT
OF
HERE
They need an E/I requirement show and you need a monkey paw somehow
You WILL relive your early 2000s sick days
I have an E/I solution
They're airing Captain Planet.
Most of the launch stations seem to be running in 480i, so I'm not sure how good these will look. My nearest MeTV affiliate has like 6 sub-channels so none look very good.
aw damn
metv streams on philo and frndly, wonder if those streams are hd
Maybe. They're going to be running a separate FAST channel, too, so that might be HD. The lineups are supposed to be different, though.
I mean 480i is probably still better than VHS rips
They have to fulfill their e/i requirements somehow
WB will NEVER let you forget that it exists.
We already had a thread shill
Eat shit.
thread should've been stickied, homosexual boy
And it hit limit, jackass.

No 1992 Addams Family cartoon? Damn that's a shame.
Probably being saved for Halloween
If Inspector Gadget is there, wouldn’t that mean both versions of Heathcliff are going to be on there?
Nah they will have this shit version
?feature=shared
NO
WTF is this shit? Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should terrify their neighborhood. That is the only version of Heathcliff I recognize that isn't Peter Gallagher's insane strips.
I liked the Bat dog segments, Boomerang previously only aired the Ruby Spears Heathcliff, but they have Inspector Gadget here so I can see them airing the DIC version eventually
Sucks that RS heathcliff is actually remastered properly yet DiC's Heathcliff is a never ever.
Gadget seems to be the only DiC thing because the most popular, best one
Why pay Wildbrain to license Heathcliff when WB already bad their own version?
>Droopy Master Detective
If you look at the credits for Tom & Jerry Kids it says "Droopy, Red & Slick Wolf created by Tex Avery", Droopy Master Detective had "Droopy and Screwy Squirrel created by Tex Avery" and "Based on characters created by Tex Avery", it was nice of Hanna-Barbera to always give them credit even after he died
Will Speed Racer be uncut or the edited version that aired in the 80's/90's?
Bro, what kind of question is that, just pray is the HD remaster of the US version
Are the Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry shorts uncensored?
>Xaolin Showdown
what the frick
that's so random surrounded by the others
It's 20 years old anon
Cartoon boomers are that petty. Zaslav will upload Jackie Chan Adventures just to own libs and stoke his ego. He will air Pokemon OG and Digimon just to get ratings.

if this helps us by finally getting hd rips of tons of shows previously only available on vhs then its a huge win
please god let them air some of the comic strip shows. I just want to see tigersharks and mini monsters again. at the very least I am happy with what we got already. captain planet, gobots, freakazoid, mask, droopy, and beetlejuice are huge wins.
im very excited to see the mask and beetlejuice in non shit quality. i dont think warner ever released the entirety of the mask series onto dvd, and the beetlejuice dvd set, while complete, was complete ass visually
that said, id scream if they could somehow get the 80s alvin and the chipmunks and muppet babies
and id frickin CREAM if we could finally get the fox kids and saban back catalog back on the air. disney did that library dirty after the buyout
Disney does seem desperate enough to lease out some of those old fox kids properties right about now. I only recently discovered FUSE was airing Malcom in the Middle reruns for instance. There's alot we could potentially see come to the network.
I mean just now I was even thinking of sony series getting added to the line up. Ghostbusters, Men in Black, Godzilla TAS, Dinosaucers. This network could be a real juggernaut nowadays if they play their cards right. They have effectively created a nostalgia network.
Something I am curious about is what other 2000's shows they'll consider worthy of dumping onto it. Bigger names like Ben 10, Samurai Jack, PPG, and Teen Titans 2003 seem too "big ticket" to get ditched on some podunk basic cable network. But I could see them giving up the 2005 Batman show, Ozzy and Drix, The Zeta Project, or Mucha Lucha.
>Men in Black
Would be kino.
I want O&D again too.
>Wait Till Your Father Gets Home
>Real Adventures of Jonny Quest
>Little Lulu
They have Ghostbusters: https://youtu.be/6LtgqmeTx9s?si=dgcB3Laqjbt2Lb3l&t=239
>and id frickin CREAM if we could finally get the fox kids and saban back catalog back on the air. disney did that library dirty after the buyout
Wouldn't the Saban catalog of Power Rangers be with Hasbro?
Saban only bought back Power Rangers and it’s associated IPs, Cartoons and Anime Dubs in the Saban Library they did for Fox Kids/ABC Family/Jetix are presumably still with Disney. For example, Saban dubbed Transformers RID 01 which is why it’s never gotten an official release in the US, even though Hasbro’s usually good about releasing the old shows on Physical Media.
It's been over 20 years. It's safe to assume all of the anime Saban licensed has reverted back to their Japanese rights holders. Digimon, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, Mon Colle Knights and Samurai Pizza cats have all gotten Blu-Ray releases in recent history sans Disney. It's the original stuff that they're neglecting in the vaults
Hasbro likely hasn't re-acquired RID because they don't see much value. If you really scrutinize things, you'll notice gaps in their content library. Outside of Beast Wars and the horses, I don't think they have any of their '90s shows (GI Joe Extreme, Vortech, Action Man [both versions], Littlest Pet Shop), for example.
Why would that happen?
You’re probably right regarding the other shows, but it really seems like RID is caught up in some legal rights issues. You would think to promote their new expensive toy they’d finally release the series on physical media or license it out to a bunch of free streaming services or on YouTube like the rest. Hell they had to use upscaled 4K YouTube Fan uploads for archival footage when showing off the new figure.
Do I have to figure out how to get broadcast channels on my tv? I literally only use it for my blu ray player, I never set up any connection to my knowledge.
antennas are super simple to use, homie
Don't go around the Internet talking about Your penis, anon
I hope to god the first April Fools prank is a second installment of Screwy Squirrel Day
MeTv folks, if you do that you will cement yourself as the GOAT channel
>hannah barbara shit
eww
Could be worse. Could be modern shit.
Does this mean they're cancelling Toon In With Me? I know Bill is on Svengoolie now and he's a huge hit with the fanbase as Nostalgiaferatoo (who started as a character on Toon In With Me) but I still like to start my mornings with Bill the Cartoon Curator and Toony the Tuna. It was bad enough when MeTV decided not to bring SvenToonie back for season 3 last October but now they're going to deprive me of Teddy Roosevelt too?
>Sad airhorn noises
>Does this mean they're cancelling Toon In With Me
doubt it. metv reaches far more households, and the program is pretty highly rated. no sense in throwing out money. i could see them airing the program at one time on metv, then rerunning it several hours later on the new channel
They're already doing that with reairings on UToo at midnight, so it's an extra excuse to promote the show.
I think Toon in With Me is safe.
As is Saturday Morning Cartoons.
But I think Flintstones/Jetsons leave Sunday mornings. I also think Sunday Night Cartoons will stop on MeTV+
MeTV is boomerkino. I have high hopes for this.
Especially since it isn't connected to any major modern content provider and that means it won't turn into a dumping ground for B-list content, which is what doomed Boomerang and Toon Disney back in the day.
MeTV Toons is being done by Weigel and WBD. They're clearing dumping titles they don't want on Max anymore like Krypto and Xiaolin Showdown. I don't know if they gave Weigel a great package deal or if they're basically donating the cartoons as some kind of tax write-off scheme like shelving movies that are in the can.
Boomers don't like streaming services; they want to just "turn on the TV" and not think about and actively choose anything. If WBD licenses out that shit to MeTV it'd probably be better for them than having them on Max.
It's fricked up. My dad is a boomer and he loves passively watching television. I tried to show him how to choose what he wants to watch but he wants someone else to tell him that. Plus binge watching frustrates him because "It's just the same thing." However, he's also moronic.
What I'm really curious about is Freakazoid. The version on Max has no music except for the theme songs.
>I never saw Police Academy: The Series but I watched the movies and had a couple of the toys. I'm interested to watch it but not enough to watch it online.
what do (YOU) want to see added to the current roster? im going for
>Thundercats 1985
>Thundarr the Barbarian
>Space Ghost (all pre C2C appearances)
>Herculoids
>Superfriends
I'm happy with what they've revealed so far, but a bonus for me would be:
>Road Rovers
>Addams Family 1992
>Centurions
>Legend of Calamity Jane
>Fantastic Max
>Addams Family 1992
>Fantastic Max
arent these situations where the rights are shared with multiple entities
They should air "The Dover Boys" and "The Rocky Road to Ruin" back to back as a joke, regular MeTV already aired both shorts on different days
a whole toonheads-style special where they cover beloved toons and their dirty ripoffs
So this is gonna be a disaster canceled within two months right.
No, the cartoon block they have now at shitty hours gets 500k-1m views each time
This will get views far above what is needed to justify it existing
They already are planning years in advance
Justice for Quick Draw
Saw Speed Racer and Marine Boy in the lineup. Any hopes for other vintage anime on this channel?
Depends on how open they are to targeting non-boomer audiences. There really isn't much the 50+ demo would be familiar with. MeTV Toons will have some late '90s/early '00s stuff, but that's from their Warner library deal and not something they specifically headhunted. Inspector Gadget and Ghostbuters does suggest that at least the '80s are on the table.
>Xiaolin Showdown
huh?
It just turned 20 last year
it's older than the krypto show
If WB was cool, the only modern cartoon I'd like to see included in this lineup would be Ed Edd n Eddy.
