Smart move probably, low budget horror movies usually turn huge profits.
They confirmed they want to do big budget action films now because Beau Is Afraid lost them so much money
>Beau Is Afraid lost them so much money
They should have seen that coming from the title. No one is going to go see a movie with that name.
BASKIN ROBERTS FRIDAY THE 13TH TRUST FUND INCOMING
I thought evil dies tonight?
>"Evil dies tonight!
>Doesn't
Like in real life
The Bible says God creates evil.
any horror movie saying this is the final one or has some slogan of it being the last, it never is
some how michael came back
heh
The real evil was the mob and their vigilantism also Jamie Lee Curtis
They didn't get the movie rights, they won the TV rights. They're already doing a Friday the 13th tv spinoff called Crystal Lake and they're gonna do one for Halloween too.
Michael Myers has been boring since after the ending of 5.
Friendly reminder that A24 is also developing a Pamela Voorhees project. Jason vs Michael confirmed.
How many times are they going to reboot this shit? What's even left to do at this point with Halloween? There's been remakes, there's been reboots. There's at least 4 different timelines that I can recall from the top of my head. I mean, I get it, it's an easy profit. I just don't see any angles left to exploit with this franchise.
>I just don't see any angles left to exploit with this franchise.
They could try again what Carpented intended
>The film departs from the slasher genre of the other installments, instead featuring a "witchcraft" theme with science fiction aspects. John Carpenter and Debra Hill believed that the Halloween series could have been an anthology series of films that centered around Halloween night, with each sequel containing its own characters, setting, and storyline. Director Wallace stated there were many ideas for Halloween-themed films, some of which could have potentially created any number of their own sequels, and that Season of the Witch was meant to be the first.[citation needed]
If they wanted to do that they could have easily done it without buying the license.
all that's left is to do cross-overs. Jason vs Michael. Michael vs Freddy, etc
>What's even left to do at this point with Halloween?
Exactly what Carpenter wanted done after III, a series of spooky stories set around Halloween. And that’s exactly what we’ll never get. 4 and 5 are alright movies, but imagine if instead of all the sequels we got 10 unique horror movies as good as Season of the Witch.
Or they could just make halloween themed movies without wasting money on an expensive IP
Theyre buying IP's BECAUSE they don't make enough money off original movies. They tried that for a decade
So slapping the halloween IP on a bunch of unrelated slop won’t magically make them any more money. I don’t think Halloween Ends even did that good at the box office.
The last halloween trilogy crossed $500 m worldwide despite being shit. That's pretty much what the top 10 all time biggest A24 releases have made combined. Their biggest original horror movie Hereditary made $81 m.
I think the time has passed, yeah, but the point was you had a production company geared to do that and they would be scored by Carpenter, rising them above what you call “slop.”
Too late
A24 sold out yesterday
No more art house kino
bro why
Halloween is unsalvageable as a franchise. A24 are wasting their time.
Thank Rob Zombie for making it a joke before Jamie Lee pissed old lady juice all over it.
KIIIIIINNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BONE CHILLING SLOW BURN HORROR IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
Just do a loose continuity stand alone story like the Nightdance comic or the planned Halloween Returns pitch.
what if michael myers but therapy?
they need a cashcow since indie filmmakers have been fricking them lately
The power of Black folks will defeat the white mask devil!
Its time for the MMMV: the Micheal Myers Multi Verse.
We're gonna get 4 diff versions of lorurie strode some his sister and some not. and one black one too
A24 is meme nowadays and hasn't put out a good film in the last 3 years
Honestly, what's the point? They made so fricking many of these things already already, did the modern reboot thing already, and then brought it back again full circle to do an unbooted callback. Whatever potential it might have had has been exhausted and then some. This isn't even beating a dead horse, it's beating a puddle of goop that used to be a dead horse ten years ago
And honestly, there's really nothing all that special about Michael Meyers. He's a psycho in a mask whose backstory is "evil." Just invent a new psycho with magic plot armor
