Honestly I think it could have stayed. The joke was on mr krabs for doing something immature and the story never once it was a good thing.

I think the issue was that Spongebob and Patrick are shown doing it and are implied to do it regularly. Since Spongebob and Patrick are the protagonists and Spongebob is the main character, they were probably worried that kids would assume it was an acceptable thing to do because, well, the "good guys" are doing it.

It's my personal favorite episode but I've always been kind of shocked Nick allowed that in the first place. It's a very inappropriate scene for the network's target demographic. Still shouldn't ban it nearly two decades later though.

I was a little kid at the time and I thought it was funny. It just came off as a teenage boy hijinks sort of thing.

I'm not saying it's not funny or that it even offends me, just I was always shocked Nick allowed it in the first place.

Why is this a problem? It's a dumb teen movie cliche, it's clearly a joke. There's worse examples many outside of the US grew up with.

The episode is old, though, doesn't it get any grandfather clause for preservation?
I hate this shit, I can't find the uncensored version of The Good, The Bad and The Wallaby in it's mexican dub online.
I know Pluto TV had it but trying to play the episode only repeats the previous episode again.

How come a fairly innocent panty raid is too much for Nickelodeon but troony discourse is not?

Bullying is what makes cartoons entertaining, Mom. The channel where everyone's happy and friendly and gay all the time is Nick Jr.

I remember rewatching gargoyles on toon disney way back when. Even back then there were scenes they aired that were edited. Two in particular I remember. One where Elisa got smacked by Demona (or it might have been MacBeth) and one where Goliath crushes the screaming robot head of the fake Xanatos.

If a modern cartoon did this epsiode with a troony character instead of Mrs. Krabs it would be seen as powerful and respectful.
