Give a watch to The Life and Times of Tim. There's veeeery little animation and it's mostly just used as shorthand to tell the audience that the world is absurd enough that you don't need to worry about all the horrible things happening to Tim. Most of the episodes are just people standing around the same set talking, and it's one of my favorite shows ever.
