Miles Morales is literally the Kyle Rayner of Marvel

Miles Morales is literally the Kyle Rayner of Marvel
>Replacement for a character gets shilled and wanked to be special after the original is gone or dead
But after they bringed his mentor or predecessor back they had no reason to be special anymore so tried to fill the emptyness of their characters with special powerups like "He can now manipulate elements with the strenght of mind" that doesn't stick or makes them more plot deviced power of the day than anything worthy of time.
Like Kyle going from Ion, to White Lantern to Omega to fill the void of Hal getting the life he was supposed to have.
In Miles case they have Peter telling him how he is a better Spider-man who matters for real and he gets a shit load of super powers of the day like electric constructs and some forgottable arcs like his own Clone Saga and a Multiverse Miles corps.

Kyle is white and always existed on the same Earth as Hal so he was a legit torchbearer

      >Hal so he was a legit torchbearer

Yeah, he had that "the Last Green Lantern" bit going on for a while. Till that was changed of course.

Miles Morales is DC Wally West both consistently develop new superpowers silver age style, both share their mantle with the original one that is still active, both have a vague relationship with the previous hero. Also both developed lightning powers and go on multiverse adventures all the time.

      >vague relationship with the previous hero
What could possibly be vague about Wally and Barry's relationship? Wally is Barry's nephew, and was also his sidekick for years before taking over as The Flash.
Any comparison you can make between Miles and Wally will never pan out in Miles's favour

So when are we getting the Miles mental breakdown character assassination arc?

That's not true at all. If anything, Danny Ketch is Wally's Marvel Equivalent
      >iconic look
      >always overshadowed by their predecessor's brand in the modern day
      >we're the first versions of their respective characters to get all the cool shit (speed force, penance stare, chains, etc) that ended up getting back-ported to their predecessors because it was just too strongly associated with the brand.
      >had a pretty good log-running arc before being reset and trapped in status quo hell to make way for the older generation

I don't understand what happened there. 90s Ghost Rider was hugely popular, people loved him way more than Johnny, it not only brought back a dead title but made it mainstream. And then 00s era Marvel did everything in the world to bury Keth and bring back johnny...and then the series died again.

Most of his stories are copies of better Spider-Man ones. Kid even has his own clone saga, complete with an evil mutant named Selim.

Him quitting because his mom got killed and he couldn't save her was good. He never wanted to take Peter's place anyway, and no one wanted him to. He did it out of guilt for not helping Peter, and felt he let Peter die. That was an interesting story beat while it lasted, but it wasn't intentional.

Miles Morales is a lot like Rey Skywalker. To make up for his complete absence of personality, they just keep giving him more and more powers. As if that's going to carry him to glory.

Except Kyle wasn't wanked until they brought Hal back. And it was a clear white flag by Johns who was trying to soothe Kylegay's crying about their boy not being special anymore, as the fighting between Kylegays and Halgays (with the occasional outburst from Johngays thanks to DCAU) was intense in the mid 00s on comic forums.

Kyle's entire run up until Hal came back was him moping about how bad he sucked, how he couldn't protect his girlfriend, and everybody else shitting on him for not being Hal. There was even a story where Alex wants to be with Hal instead because Hal managed to protect her. Even when they had an arc about Kyle becoming god right before Hal came back, half the story was about how everybody was scared for him and worried he was losing himself. It wasn't until Hal came back did he manage to actually balance his power and get wanked with the Ion book and the White Lantern shit.

Kyle being Ion when Hal was still Spectre was his attempt to wank him and differentiate him more than Hal.

Miles doesn't have a character to compare himself to because we've never seen a replacement so half assed like this. Peter is still everywhere and is the clear focus of any sort of Spider-Man media. Miles is a spider verse character, not Spider-Man, and his stories reflect this.

The corporate bigwigs want to have their cake and eat it too, giving us the real spiderman and miles as the spider diversity guy
