    Would a secret invasion type storyline where almost every hero was suddenly black and nobody notices except for a few people be good?

      It would, at least, be funny

      Black people say y'all, too. Boring white people haven't been able to keep themselves from copying black people since the 20s, so... here we are.

          An affectation by people to make themselves look "salt of the Earth" and disguise their own socioeconomic position, same reason why anyone adopts lower-class mannerisms.

          Miles was interesting in his base premise but was poorly implemented. The MCU proved this by stealing a lot of his more basic character shit for their Peter, and then Spiderverse proved it by doing Miles well.

          But comic miles was always poorly done.

          I wouldn't say that the MCU cribs that much from Miles, if anything they take more from Kamala.

            Ned = Ganke
            MJ = Barbara
            Goes to the same school as Miles
            Him being recruited by Tony is just Ultimate Peter with Nick Fury

            Only thing close to being from Kamala is having a smart best friend helping her which is also Miles with Ganke making his webbing.

        Except "you" can be plural. Hell, it's easier to type out "you all" than "y'all" because there's no apostrophe, especially on a phone.

      The english language cries out for a second person plural pronoun, and y'all was already sitting around in the vernacular. Considering that one of the biggest alternatives is 'yous' I think y'all is one of the least worst options people could have adopted.

    Miles Morales and to a lesser extent, Miguel O'hara is an attempt from Modern Marvel comics to address Peter's whiteness in the center of ethnic diversity that is modern Queens NY. Beyond that I dont know how to make a tan and ethnic Spider-man any different than an Oy Vey saying glasses wearing Peter Parker.

    A-N-D the sad truth is that Marvel Comics can't comment or develop Miles's heritage, specifically how Miles relates to Cardiac, Prowler, and Nightwatch, who are his character&powers-ancestors. Miles Morales is like if Prowler and Cardiac had a baby and gave him Spider powers.

    His comics aren't very good, but capeshit comic rarely ever. Peter himself has sucked for decades.
    But his movie portrayal was great and his game was descent. Most heroes, even big name ones like Superman and Wonder Woman, still can't claim that.
    Miles is fine, and he's here to stay.

            >even big name ones like Superman

            was replying to (I'm not).
            And even if I was, the claim that

            His comics aren't very good, but capeshit comic rarely ever. Peter himself has sucked for decades.

            made was that Mile's game was decent. My claim is that the sunsoft death of superman game wasn't by the metrics of its medium and genre.
            Even if you limited it exclusively to "comic book superhero beat em ups" it's still not as good as the Spider-man arcade game, or Punisher, or the six player X-men, or Captain America and the Avengers.

            • 2 years ago
              Anonymous

              No, the claim was simply "decent game". Death of Superman is a decent game. Anything else is semantics.

      >his game was descent

      >said friend was screwed over by evil company
      >friend is supplying tech for bad guys to get revenge

    I just realized that Peter might actually have pulled up this concept (what if this character was every character?)
    Peter's personality isn't just 'he's a good kid!', he's a raging butthole who's path towards justice was set by a watershed moment in his life and an enduring sense of guilt and responsibility.
    Without that moment, what becomes of him?
    Does he become an arrogant Captain America until he sees soldiers die under his care? Given his guilt over one person, how much does he suffer from the many deaths in a war? Does he become a one-man army to stop war, fusing Super Soldier Serum with his own tech and maybe other enhancements (doc ock's arms, Ironman's suit, etc.)?
    As Thor, does he get drunk on his own power and status, never really learning a lesson because no one's really fricks with Asgardians for a long, LONG time?
    If Odin casts him out, maybe he never becomes worthy because of his arrogance. Maybe Asgard turns into a military state under his leadership if he gains the throne from Odin's death.
    Because Pete's more than a good guy, it's more interesting to see the possible twists-and-turns in his development.

    https://screenrant.com/miles-morales-thor-variant-social-media-backlash-marvel/
    Joshua Isaak: Perhaps this is a sign that continually combining characters such as Miles Morales and Thor is less effective than simply writing these superheroes as themselves; Miles Morales is a fan-favorite in part because of his everyman qualities and his desire to help others, and that is more than enough to tell an effective story.
