>blacks are as moronic as white trash
Okay, still doesn't answer my question why you'd ever want to sound like a redneck and say stupid shit like "y'all" and "ain't" and "y'hear" and "yeehaw" and "git r dun."
An affectation by people to make themselves look "salt of the Earth" and disguise their own socioeconomic position, same reason why anyone adopts lower-class mannerisms.
Miles was interesting in his base premise but was poorly implemented. The MCU proved this by stealing a lot of his more basic character shit for their Peter, and then Spiderverse proved it by doing Miles well.
But comic miles was always poorly done.
I wouldn't say that the MCU cribs that much from Miles, if anything they take more from Kamala.
>I wouldn't say that the MCU cribs that much from Miles, if anything they take more from Kamala.
Ned = Ganke
MJ = Barbara
Goes to the same school as Miles
Him being recruited by Tony is just Ultimate Peter with Nick Fury
Only thing close to being from Kamala is having a smart best friend helping her which is also Miles with Ganke making his webbing.
Black people also drink water. So can you better explain why the internet adopted a word from the south?
The english language cries out for a second person plural pronoun, and y'all was already sitting around in the vernacular. Considering that one of the biggest alternatives is 'yous' I think y'all is one of the least worst options people could have adopted.
Miles Morales and to a lesser extent, Miguel O'hara is an attempt from Modern Marvel comics to address Peter's whiteness in the center of ethnic diversity that is modern Queens NY. Beyond that I dont know how to make a tan and ethnic Spider-man any different than an Oy Vey saying glasses wearing Peter Parker.
A-N-D the sad truth is that Marvel Comics can't comment or develop Miles's heritage, specifically how Miles relates to Cardiac, Prowler, and Nightwatch, who are his character&powers-ancestors. Miles Morales is like if Prowler and Cardiac had a baby and gave him Spider powers.
Also, frosted tips is a bit of a joke. They could have given him a lightning shooting storm cloud afro instead, but that would have probably come off as blaxploitative.
His comics aren't very good, but capeshit comic rarely ever. Peter himself has sucked for decades.
But his movie portrayal was great and his game was descent. Most heroes, even big name ones like Superman and Wonder Woman, still can't claim that.
Miles is fine, and he's here to stay.
To move goalposts I would have to be the anon that
>even big name ones like Superman
was replying to (I'm not).
And even if I was, the claim that

made was that Mile's game was decent. My claim is that the sunsoft death of superman game wasn't by the metrics of its medium and genre.
Even if you limited it exclusively to "comic book superhero beat em ups" it's still not as good as the Spider-man arcade game, or Punisher, or the six player X-men, or Captain America and the Avengers.
>his game was descent
it was a retread of peter's game >peter/miles is a super-smart tech genius with a dead father figure >peter/miles has a friend who is also a super-smart tech genius >said friend was screwed over by evil company >friend is supplying tech for bad guys to get revenge >friend builds their own tech and attacks evil company man
it was miles distilled to his essence, peter in blackface
Miles was interesting in his base premise but was poorly implemented. The MCU proved this by stealing a lot of his more basic character shit for their Peter, and then Spiderverse proved it by doing Miles well.
>The MCU proved this by stealing a lot of his more basic character shit for their Peter
Everything the MCU took from Miles was literally the worst part of those movies
All this was missing was some finna bouttas and shit and you would have easily been able to convince me it was an elaborate /misc/-adjacent joke instead of some Mexican's idea of supporting black people
I just realized that Peter might actually have pulled up this concept (what if this character was every character?)
Peter's personality isn't just 'he's a good kid!', he's a raging butthole who's path towards justice was set by a watershed moment in his life and an enduring sense of guilt and responsibility.
Without that moment, what becomes of him?
Does he become an arrogant Captain America until he sees soldiers die under his care? Given his guilt over one person, how much does he suffer from the many deaths in a war? Does he become a one-man army to stop war, fusing Super Soldier Serum with his own tech and maybe other enhancements (doc ock's arms, Ironman's suit, etc.)?
As Thor, does he get drunk on his own power and status, never really learning a lesson because no one's really fricks with Asgardians for a long, LONG time?
If Odin casts him out, maybe he never becomes worthy because of his arrogance. Maybe Asgard turns into a military state under his leadership if he gains the throne from Odin's death.
Because Pete's more than a good guy, it's more interesting to see the possible twists-and-turns in his development.
>MilesBros just keep winning
Yea, like the time when they post the good material from his books or webms.
Like that page where ____________ or those webms where ______________
We keep winning because regardless of all the racist seething about him, he keeps getting more material. >get to eat an ok piece of cake and have racist foaming at the mouth with rage that I'm eating it.
It's win/win
If Marvel had any actual interest in promoting Miles they'd give him a good writer. They don't, its just non-stop hacks after hacks. They love the *idea* of Miles.

Joshua Isaak: Marvel's newest story combines the best parts of Miles Morales and Thor to create the company's best new character with his own unique personality. >two days later...

Joshua Isaak: Perhaps this is a sign that continually combining characters such as Miles Morales and Thor is less effective than simply writing these superheroes as themselves; Miles Morales is a fan-favorite in part because of his everyman qualities and his desire to help others, and that is more than enough to tell an effective story.
>maybe if we keep pushing this absolute nobody people will start noiticing him!
Would a secret invasion type storyline where almost every hero was suddenly black and nobody notices except for a few people be good?
It would, at least, be funny
>"Wait a minute, Thor's not supposed to be black"
>"Shhhh, you can't say that these days Bill, you'll get cancelled!"
the only major Marvel character less interesting than Miles is Thor
aslo wolverine and deadpool
>aslo
>lists the most popular Marvel characters in an attempt to appear cool and cultured but just comes off as contrarian
I liked him in Insomniac Spider-Man
Why?
genuinely a good kid that's why
>Distinct personality away from Peter
>Natural origin that isnt convoluted by alternate universes or requiring Peter's death
>Regulated as a sidekick
>Y'all
When did talking like a redneck become cool?
Black people say y'all, too. Boring white people haven't been able to keep themselves from copying black people since the 20s, so... here we are.
>blacks are as moronic as white trash

Is simple, catchy and effective
Also gender neutral too than
>you guys
Except "you" can be plural. Hell, it's easier to type out "you all" than "y'all" because there's no apostrophe, especially on a phone.
Any argument in defense of phoneposting is a bad one
Who said anything about phoneposting?
Why would anyone care what's easier to write on a phone otherwise?
Because there's more to life than Cinemaphile dot org.
Not for the people that post here.
Dunno, but faster than typing "you all", sounds cooler too
The english language cries out for a second person plural pronoun, and y'all was already sitting around in the vernacular. Considering that one of the biggest alternatives is 'yous' I think y'all is one of the least worst options people could have adopted.
Why does he have elf ears?

That would have been entertaining at least

As far as beat em ups go it's not exactly in the top 10. Probably not even in the top 20.

No, the claim was simply "decent game". Death of Superman is a decent game. Anything else is semantics.

lol, you don't like spider-man
Jameson will finally be right when he says Spider-man is a criminal
Your opinion isn’t interesting.
>Y'all
Every new male black character in Marvel should be named Miles Morales.
How did this hilariously racist issue get past editorial?
Nick Lowe was supervising editor

BY ODIN'S FADE, I A 'LATINX' MAN HAS APPROXIMATED HOW I THINK BLACK PEOPLE WOULD SOUND LIKE IF THEY WERE NORSE GODS!
Can't any of you chimps start some shit up on this already?
>by Odin’s fade
>he’s bald
>wears timbs
Kek
I can't believe they found a way to give him electric powers after all this time.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it.
If you're happy with plain rice-cake, then go nuts. Hope his stories entertain you.
Honestly I'm more annoyed that an entire What if series is
What if Miles Morales was...
Has nothing more intersting happened in the marvel universe since the last What if series series in 2018?
They needed something to celebrate his tenth anniversary, and this was their best idea. I don't know whether that says more about Miles or Marvel.
It says something about Marvel considering Gwen is doing the same exact thing at the same time it's on the same level as the miles what ifs
Miles Morales is here to stay
For a guy who is both black AND Mexican, he's the most white bread milk-sop POC I can think of.
If Marvel had any actual interest in promoting Miles they'd give him a good writer. They don't, its just non-stop hacks after hacks. They love the *idea* of Miles.
Good writers are too smart to work in capeshit. Even the best of them are still hacky. Yes, even your favorite.
His villans and best stories are:
