Will Natalie be the villain now? That would make no sense.

why wouldnt it? Nathalie needs to pick up gabe's slack. She wont fail emilie like he did.

I'm taking bets on whether it actually gets made or if they're silent about it for several years before eventually revealing it got cancelled long before

Should have released it in theaters internationally instead of only through Gayflix.

      >20m Box office
for a movie that was barely on any theaters outside France thats quite impressive.
you do know this movie was released on Netflix and its been figuring out on global top three most viewed ever since the premiere, right? There is no way this movie failed. Astruc please, just admit you got mogged and get on with your life.

Holy hell they skipped theatrical releases almost everywhere that makes money.
You'd think a distributor would step in and help

        Distributors aren't charities
You can trust that extensive market analysis went into the decision and they decided they'd make the most money (lose the least?) by slinging it in Netflix everywhere but France and her neighbours

          >You can trust that extensive market analysis went into the decision
Why would I trust that? The OG French group in charge of Ladybug are an investment group that handle multiple properties. It's not like Mattel which has a huge dedicated staff to each film property. They took the quickest way to immediate cash, not the best.
If a company with more cash (like Disney) had it from the production stage you can bet there would be actual extensive research. The character's last name is fricking Chang and it never hit Asia

            Anonymous

No, they took the way to the highest probability of cash
You make it sound like you can just launch a nationwide movie campaign in China for free. It's taking on substantial additional risk and they clearly deemed it not worth the projected reward. I seriously seriously doubt it just didn't occur to them because they're too dumb dumb

      LOL
They were so proud of that opening day but by the end of the week...
      >It became the second best opening week of the year for an animated film in France, behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie (1,866,914 tickets sold as of 11 April 2023), and the sixth best opening week for a French animated film, behind Arthur 3: The War of the Two Worlds (751,000 tickets sold in 2010)

If it doesn't make at least $200-300M worldwide it ain't a success, unless it has a really low budget like sub $20M low.

They spent way too much on it
They've been massively exaggerating its international success for years when the hype died around the end of season 3

I like how instead of dragging out the romance and secret identities stuff forever like the show did they went “nah frick that, end the film with a reveal and a kiss.”

I wanted to like the movie, but
    >terrible songs
    >long contrived fart joke
    >made plagg more disgusting than usual
    >the coolest villains only got a few minutes of screentime
    >ending was lame, she had to reveal who she was to get Adrian

But goddamn Adrian and was super cute in the movie, and looked better than he does in the series.

Im guessing people who complained about the songs havent listened the abohent stuff the show has. Id take over tikki cringe rapping than Felix happy mass murder singing any day.

Christmas special's songs were actually a lot better than the movie's, even if the premise was dumb baby shit. I still get the Pire Noël song stuck in my head sometimes

Assuming the models are in similar format to the show ones but newer, as Maya is industry standard, i wouldn't hold your breath. Might have better luck working with newer Maya/porting, but somene with the knowledge would need to see them first to judge time/effort.

I was still holding out hope some more show models would surface, but I guess all the leakers got caught.

Had to change this since apparently, the Miraculized are a lot different than akumatized villains. As for why I changed the "akumatized villains" part, it has something to do with the upcoming "Miraculous World: Paris" TV movie since it'll feature a hero version of Akumatization.

For those that are gonna ask about me adding the "Miraculous: The Movie" akumatization, apparently it's Zag's version of the franchise so I'd rather stick for the main continuity.

The movie is definitely a financial disaster. Thinking what Netflix paid for the rights came close to covering the budget+marketing shortfall is cope of the highest order. They can only paint this as a success if they cook the books by showing ancillaries (ie merch sales) to have been wholly thanks to the movie existing
