>don't take a movie seriously and spend the whole time laughing at it >be confused why people who actually watched it and took it seriously would enjoy it more
Just stick to Tiktok, it's more suited for your viewing habits.
You should take any movie with at least a bit of seriousness if you're planning on watching it and actually enjoying it. If you just want to drink with your friends and yell at the screen then that's fine but you shouldn't expect to absorb much about the films you're watching.
>There's nothing to absorb.
There's a lot to absorb if you like 80s slashers, since F13 Pt 2 is probably the purest example of the genre.
It's fine if you're actually opposed to enjoying the movie for some reason, but you're missing out.

There's nothing at all. It's just some people have sex before getting killed. No depth. No symbolism. No coherent plot.
Just toss it out.

There actually are themes and there's a consistent plotline throughout the movies, but you won't notice if you're just watching to laugh at and shit on the film.
If you're a Halloween fan then Friday the 13th should be right up your alley. The Halloween sequels were made to capitalize on the success of Friday the 13th.

Why was the tombstone of a killer just sitting there by the side of the road? I'd imagine after the killings that thing would've been broken into pieces by locals or more likely, not even planted there in the first place. >well, why was Jason's tombstone just sitting in a graveyard in 6?
Jason Lives is a contrived comedy that had a fast paced opening focused on just getting the movie set up, not the same thing.

You can see another grave in that screenshot, I guess it's some cheap graveyard they dumped Pamela's body in. The logic isn't that important tbh.

Funny how the Halloween sequels were spawned from the success of Friday the 13th and its sequels and now after the success of the Halloween requel and its sequels, everything else is copying it

The history of slashers is complicated and involves a lot of movies inspiring other movies >hitchwiener movies and gialli inspire black christmas >indie exploitation films like last house on the left inspire low budget indie horror movies like the texas chain saw massacre >black christmas inspires halloween >halloween inspires friday the 13th 1 and 2, along with other early slashers >the friday the 13th sequels inspire halloween 2 >et cetera
Modern horror tries to hard to "subvert your expectations" instead of focusing on delivering an entertaining experience. Friday the 13th was the opposite of that, it's all about sincere fun.
James Wan movies are good. The Nun movies are schlock trash. I can't believe people thought Nun 2 was an improvement over the first one, at least the first one is enjoyable in a B movie sense. The Nun 2 is the worst thing a horror movie can be: fricking BORING.
There is so much wrong with this >Final Destination 3
should be higher than the first 1 >IT and remake
F tier >House of Wax
so bad it's good >Happy Death Day
cringe Blum-shit and shouldn't be on the list >Halloween III
one of the better Halloweens
>Final Destination 3 >should be higher than the first 1
NTA but I'd rank Final Destination 1 and 2 over 3. All three are good though.
Also Happy Death Day is good and one of Blumhouse's best movies. BH is a hands-off producer so you can't really judge their movies off of their name, there's a lot of variety.
Nah bro Jason pulling up to the docks with the new mask and the harpoon gun is equal to the most kino moments of 2 (which is a solid A+ but can’t touch 4 or 6)
>and they don't even show when he puts it on for the first time
That's kino though. It's a real "oh shit" moment when he shows up wearing Shelly's mask.
I agree with that I would’ve liked to see that fat annoying b***h get got too, weird decision but like the other anon said if kind of works for being so suddenly jarring and unexpected.
Off of the top of my head, don't have a concrete rating
2 > 4 > 1 > 6 > 3 > 5 > JvF > 7 > X > Remake > 8 > GtH
I think they're all very good up until Part 8. Series dipped in quality with 8 and Goes to Hell but it recovered with the next few movies.
Goes to Hell is the black sheep of the franchise and idk if I'd say it's worth watching, but Jason X, Freddy vs Jason, and the 2009 remake are definitely worth watching if you're a fan of the series.
X is Jason wreaking havoc on a cheesy sci-fi setting, FvJ is a fun showdown between the two icons and one of the most 2000s things you'll ever watch, and the 2009 remake is a gritty condensed 2000s slasher version of the first four movies by the director of the also good Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake from 2003. They're all pretty different from the original movies but they're entertaining.
>thanks i'll give those a watch
Hope you enjoy. I put them low in my ranking but that's more because of my love of the early F13s. I enjoy the three I mentioned a lot still, Friday the 13th has to be the most consistent horror series.
I'd put NoES 1 and Dream Warriors over the F13 movies, but most of the F13 movies before the rest of the NoES franchise. F13 is higher quality on average.
Explain how this movie is good boomer. Me and my friend laughed at it the entire time.

Lol! That answer works!

There's nothing to absorb. The movie was low IQ with a Scooby Doo-tier chase scene in clumsiness.

Fun bad
Afraid of sex and nudity. Too many women in charge vetoing these projects for PG 13 sensibilities.
Modern horror tries to hard to "subvert your expectations" instead of focusing on delivering an entertaining experience. Friday the 13th was the opposite of that, it's all about sincere fun.
So many nu-horror movies use jump-scares as a substitute for suspense. It's the Wan-ification of horror
James Wan movies are good. The Nun movies are schlock trash. I can't believe people thought Nun 2 was an improvement over the first one, at least the first one is enjoyable in a B movie sense. The Nun 2 is the worst thing a horror movie can be: fricking BORING.

seed of chucky is the best childsplay film
bold statement
it's better than cult and the remake but that's about it
F13 rankings, bros?

Nah bro Jason pulling up to the docks with the new mask and the harpoon gun is equal to the most kino moments of 2 (which is a solid A+ but can’t touch 4 or 6)
I have a problem with this scene because his mask is so iconic and they don't even show when he puts it on for the first time
>and they don't even show when he puts it on for the first time
That's kino though. It's a real "oh shit" moment when he shows up wearing Shelly's mask.

pretty accurate order but I haven't seen any after 8. are they worth watching?

gtfo homosexual. your mom is too busy having sex with Black folk to buy you a rated R movie

ok
I don't think the first Nightmare on Elm Street was THAT profound but it's definitely better than anything F13.
I'd put NoES 1 and Dream Warriors over the F13 movies, but most of the F13 movies before the rest of the NoES franchise. F13 is higher quality on average.
