Moments that make you REE

For FRICKS sake. Not only is the Joker immune to the lasso but so is Batman? I guess Gotham literally is a world on its own. Crazy town completely seperate from the reality of the rest of the DCU.

It's the whole "Batman is the true identity" bullshit. Even in Batman Beyond it's said that he subconsciously considers himself Batman first with Bruce Wayne being his "other identity."

He's not immune, he's telling the truth. Bruce Wayne is the mask. Just like Superman is the mask for Clark.

Shut up. All of you. He's Bruce Wayne by day. Batman by night. And it is BROAD DAYLIGHT in the background. And even then the "true mask" shit doesn't work because it's a false reality. The lasso doesn't care about how you feel. Stick it on a trans woman and she'll call herself a man. Batman is a shield that a little rich kid put around himself to force the world to make sense. But the world doesn't revolve around Batman.

        >The lasso doesn't care about how you feel
Yes it does. Truth is defined by what you know, and what you know is defined by your viewpoint.

Truth is defined by THE TRUTH. if I didn't know what 2+2 is I wouldn't be able to answer. On the other hand if I was told my whole life that 2+2 is 5 I would still say 4. In life there are things that will tell you deep in your subconscious what is fact. You may not interact with these subliminal messages but you will know what the reality is deep down. That's what the lasso brings out.
So things like Alfred, Wayne Manor, Tommy Elliot, The Zorro movie, all this shit in Bruce's life that remind him where he came from will always tell him that he IS Bruce Wayne first and foremost whether he wants to believe it.

No you wouldn’t, the lasso doesn’t work that way and has never worked that way. People it’s used on say what they think is the truth, not info they don’t know, not things they didn’y know is the truth, just what they think is the truth

Anon, the lasso does not serve as an all-knowing universal truth object

Remember that scene where they ask Reverse Flash how to deactivate the explosives and he says "they can't be deactivated" in Flashpoint movie?

If they asked Captain Cold or the other Rogues they would have answered "I don't know" because they didn't know shit about explosives and even if Reverse Flash had told them a fake password they would have told it as the truth because that is the truth they know.

Well no. They would say "Reverse Flash lied to us all"

That's moronic anon, if someone believes something false is the truth then it's no different than if they were telling the truth. The Lasso can't just yank shit out of thin air otherwise Diana could just use it on herself and get any intel because "reality". If Batman thinks he's truly Batman then he's Batman

              Explain what "truth" is first

Truth is the foundation of the world. It will always come out one way or another.

If it made people tell the objective truth instead of subjective then it would be completely broken. They could just ask the solution to any problem.

Isn't this just a case of batman being insane and having serious identity issues? If the lasso was used to ask about his civilian identity, then he'd say "Bruce Wayne".

Basically "Lasso of Truth" sounds cooler but functionally it's more like "Lasso of Honesty."

So by the logic of the "bruce wayne is the mask" crowd If Wonder Woman was hit by fear toxin or being mind controlled by Braniac it would affect her like a normal person even if she was wrapped up in the lasso.

…yeah? One’s a toxin that makes you scared, one is mind control, one is a magic lasso based on that makes you answer questions

If she had asked a question this would've been less cringe.
For example if she asked who are you? He would've said Bruce Wayne and Clark would've said Superman. If she had asked Who do you think you are?" The answers would've been Batman and Clark Kent.
