Does TBS still run their shows at 5 minutes past the hour like in the 90s?

The last time I watched a movie on TBS or Superstation was like twenty years ago and it was probably Mortal Kombat or Shawshank Redemption or whatever and they basically speed up both the opening credits and the end credits so the films will fit into 90 minutes or two hours easily. If they did that decades ago they’re probably still doing that now. Lot’s of cable channels would do tv edits of films. Even A&E before they became reality tv trash and showed movies edited them for quick times.

        Anonymous

I read it was because they were mainly a sports channel back then and games would run late so all prescheduled programming was moved by 5 minutes just in case

          Anonymous

No, the actual reason was because Ted Turner was a sperg and thought that if all his programs are shown 5 minutes past the hour, then when people turn the channel during other channel’s commercial break, they will land on his channel starting the beginning of their programming. Seriously.

Like zoomers say they want it to be 2008 or older again but half of them couldn’t handle no smartphones and everything. 2010 or 2011 is probably the oldest you could go and things wouldn’t be too different than now

I've always felt like the case and details surrounding Paris Hilton's sex tape is really fricked up and isn't talked about enough. Maybe because you'd have to imagine she doesn't give that much of a shit.

        Anonymous

Really? The only thing her sex tape made me realize is that she is a dead fish in bed.

        Anonymous

IIRC hers actually was the guy selling it to some porn company for money without her knowledge. Then Kris Kardashian saw how much attention it got and had Kim (who was Paris' assistant or whatever at the time) make a sex tape so they could leak it and make her a star too.

          Anonymous

I totally forgot that Kim had a sextape I thought she only got famous off the OJ connection? I do remember that after the Paris Hilton sextape it became a thing for minor celebrities to have sextapes basically a pre-Fappening for the internet. Like we had the web but we were still dealing in porn on VCR tapes and DVDs before internet porn was that widespread.

The Kardashian girls have always been fame hungry. Kim was basically a parasite who attached herself to anyone who she thought could get her another rung higher on the fame ladder which is why she was a-ok with her mom basically prostituting her out.

          It was one of the first examples of widespread internet spam. Emails, forums, everywhere flooded with "P A R I S H I L T O N S E X T A P E" followed by a flood of replies "who the frick is paris hilton"

humanity peaked in the mid to late 90s, the cold war was over and peace was the norm, the world looked up to America, there was a wide range of music, rock and roll, dance, electro, hip hop, the economy was booming, it was ok to be gay, it was ok to be straight, it was ok to be a woman, it was ok to be a man, it was ok to be black, it was ok to be white, every year had one kino or another, technology was there but not too intrusive (and not used by too many normies), I wish I existed then

      Anonymous

The problem with modern tech isn't that it's overly intrusive. It's that tech companies have gone from being ran by libertarians who won't hand data over to the government without a warrant to tools of subjugation ran by tyrants who feel entitled to your compliance and money. Similar subjugation has happened without technology plenty of times in the past.

Most of the whining about social media is a scapegoat for problems caused by single parent households, which in turn was turned into an epidemic by feminism weaponizing the family courts and putting women out of touch with basic common sense.
