IMO no, more right leaning Indians/hindus would likely consider it does
The main issue is use of English for me. Most of the poor would not choose to speak in english (if they know it in the first place) in an informal setting if the other person also knows hindi. The rising politician near the end speaks in a Brit accent, that was weird no hindu right leaning politician in India would ever have that kind of accent
There were some stories pertaining to hanuman as a child and as a an adult in ramayan that were not told as per canon for the lack of a better term. Although many before have taken liberties with those stories, it felt Dev didnt do enough of his homework there.
There were many other minor tid bits that would take lot of Indians out of the movie. But I can see this movie appealing to a non Indian audience
>But I can see this movie appealing to a non Indian audience
But there's nothing appealing about the movie. >Plot
Extremely basic revenge story. Done a hundred times before. >Setting
Disgusting Indian locations. Like actually revolting. It's authentic, which is good I guess, but is authentic diarrhoea something you really want? >Score/music
Forgettable or out of place. No in-between. >Action
Shaky cam nonsense I thought we got rid of with John Wick. You can't see a damn thing that's happening. It's nauseating to watch and none of the action would be out of place in a spoof movie >Characters
What characters? The main character is Revenge Man #1339 with Indian colour swap. He's unsympathetic.
All the supporting characters are shit. Ironically the only somewhat interesting characters are the cliche outcast religious sect, comprised of trannies or crossdressers or whatever. They only exist to fit the "we need to raise $5,000 before the end of the week, or the big bad guys are going to shut down our community centre!", and an Avengers Assemble moment in the big finale.
What a fricking amerimutt. I doubt he'd frick with the retelling of his favorite libtard hero tho. Then again, why are people on Cinemaphile discussing this movie?
The movie hasn't been released in India because it is anti-fascist and India is ruled by fascists. In fact, the colors of the villain's banners was originally the color of India's fascist party, but they were altered in post in an attempt to make it politically acceptable.
apparently hitting a punching bag for a few days makes you a better fighter. literally couldnt take out one man in the bathroom but then takes out the whole place later on.
I liked Dev Patel in iZombie when he was Literally My Friend but everything he's been in after has been slop. iZombie was slop too to be fair but I very much want to have sex with Rose McIver so I watched it anyway.
I liked the movie but the troony part just felt weird
I get that the plot needed an oppressed anti-establishment minority community of some kind but something about them being transexuals specifically just weirded me out. Would yet another religious community have just been too hard to understand for most viewers?
The trouble is we live in a culture where it’s not only widely accepted, it’s actively pushed upon us in practically every movie and tv show. So even if it is transgressive in India, Western audiences will see it for what it is, a blatant attempt to cash in on the current LGBT trend.
I liked it but it felt quite a bit too long, which was a serious problem in a genre that relies on momentum.
the best section of the movie wound up being the process of him getting into the club.
>Nationalism and Hinduism is le bad
>transgendrism and islam is le good!
Awful.
I didnt get that out of the movie, it was to me a good modern take on a hindu legend. And the fight coreography was great
Nationalism is always bad
speed watcher
With posts like these we don't even need IP flags
No self-respecting Indian would like that movie.
Dont speak for me, chutiye
JAHNAY WICKABHARIYA

>tfw no white gf
Just finished watching this, tbqh not bad for a directorial debut
But me literally being pajeet found it hard to not be taken out of the movie due to several cultural inaccuracies
What happen? Does the movie shit on Hinduism?

Did he include trannies in his retelling of the ramayana?
Nope, there is a part retelling of Ravana abducting Sita and Hanuman interferes the lore isnt being told in proper timeline
Its a minor discrepancy but feels odd
What a fricking amerimutt. I doubt he'd frick with the retelling of his favorite libtard hero tho. Then again, why are people on Cinemaphile discussing this movie?
Any webm requests?
He was great in Green Knight too
I don't like looking at Poos
GOOD MORNING SHILLS!
Its night here in India though
This movie hasn't been relesed in India despite been pajeet wank
It hasnt released in India due to the political nature of it and it was releasing pretty close to election season in India

I just assumed the herb powder that the transgender gave him acted like a performance enhancer
The powder was methamphetamine. The whole movie is about a meth junkies delusion.
>Trannies good
Frick off
How many sars redeeming the thread?
Indians are white and whiter then Americans

That was Rahul Kohli not Dev Patel though
>Get me an actor who’s a literal filthy disgusting subhuman unevolved monkey m—
>He’s already shitting in his dressing room, sir.
Unfortunately Jonathan Majors is having legal issues.

those troons are notorious in Bharat, they even have a name
>I'm all for transgressive fiction that is banned in its home country up until it offends ME.

>a good action movie gets released this year
>Cinemaphile: but what about the story!?
Holy shit lol
I liked it but it felt quite a bit too long, which was a serious problem in a genre that relies on momentum.
the best section of the movie wound up being the process of him getting into the club.
>MON MAN
>MONOMAN
>MON MONKEY MAN
Make it Monkey Girl and I'd watch it
>Dumb gays who don't realise that trannies (hijra) are actually part of the indian culture and were only outlawed by the British puritans
lmao
He jobs the entire time. I was trying to root for him but even in his final two fights he gets beaten down like a b***h.
How is the action?I read that there was too much shakycam bullshit
