New synopsis from Gracenote:
>The Molecular Level
>After Lunella tells her family that she's Moon Girl, she must convince them she will be safe, which seems impossible when Molecule Man shows up for revenge.
Kinda gives away a plot point several episodes in advance, but it wouldn't be the first time this show did that
Oof.
Oh shit that sounds orgasmic.
When is the new ep? Maybe we can live watch on Cinemaphile like we did with My Adventures with Superman.
tonight at 8 est. It's already out on mega though
kewl
More synopses:
>In the Heist
>Lunella learns that a stolen Kree artifact is about to cause a cataclysmic storm, but when none of the adults believe her, she must swipe it herself.
>Dog Day Mid-Afternoon
>When Pops fosters a mysterious stray dog and enters him into a dog show, a paranoid Lunella is convinced the creature is an evil alien who intends to sabotage the event.
>Dancing With Myself
>Lunella is desperate to find a date to the school dance, but when she gets Kid Kree to be her escort, she learns that peer pressure can harm the relationships that matter most.
>Family Matters
>When Moon Girl teams up with the amazing super hero, Turbo, she realizes the true cost of keeping up a secret identity.
>That Dancing With Myself description
Kid Kree you better not frick this up young man, or you're gonna get cucked by EDUARDO.
He doesn’t get together with Lunella in the original comics.
By the sound of it, the show isn't really following what the comics did is it?
It could go either way.
In the original comics, people worked out Lunella’s secret identity pretty quickly.
Lunella doesn't like him in the comics either, and she definitely does here.
And if he's gonna lose, at least lose to someone better than fricking Eduardo.
Oh snap turbo thats a interesting choice
I'm a little surprised they're telling us so much. Not really sure if this this a case of them being too open with these synopsis or is it a fault of all these episodes being dumped at once so we see synopsis much sooner than we would have had they been released weekly.
Is there gonna be a a livestream of the new episodes or are we gonna need to wait for a mega?
I think we need to wait for Mega.
did anything leak yet? mollybros would've had half the fricking season in their mega by now
Kid Kree episode got leaked on animatic about a year ago, but that's about it
We're getting half the fricking season in about 24 hours anyway.
Is the new episode out on demand yet?
Maybe now it is
First episode of S2 is up on Disney Now.
give mega
its on DisneyNow fellow Moonxisters
Reminder that meganons barely give a shit about this show so no mega for a while

Neat.

it begins, thanks!
Thanks
Dang, that was fast. Thanks anon.
good start into the new season.
man i feel bad for her, Lunella was doing so well until the last encounter
Aren't the first 14 episodes of S2 on Disney+?
Yes. I don’t think they should be ripped out just yet.
Tomorrow.
>All of Moon Girl S1 dumped Black History Month 2023
>All of Moon Girl S2 dumped Black History Month 2024
Damn, they really wrote this show off only to be used for PR.
And I liked watching this show too, RIP.
Not sure why, they barely have any other shows airing for the first half of 2024
Disney is bad with marketing, and wrote this show off.
While that's all true, it seems Lunella is a victim of February being the black month so her show is completely dumped during that month.
I know.
Fricking Dumb. Moon Girl and DD is their best Marvel content in years
Playing it safe with the superhero bubble bursting. That shouldn't be a problem though, not as long as MGDD doesn't fall into the standard Marvel formula.
Next day Marvel announces Phase 1 of the Marvel Cartoon Universe with 18 other shows all set in Moon Girl's universe.
The potential of this happening is what scared me away from this show for so long.
I would be okay with that if those shows are centered around kid capes like Spider-Boy, Power Pack and such. Speaking of.
>A transfer student from Japan arrives at the LES High School. She seems bi-polar, most of the time she's coy and prefers to be left alone but other times she has the wits and ego of a supervillain. Now Lunella has to save Spider-Man from her!
Would this crossover be kino or what?
I fully support a Kid Cape Continuity. It coukd be a more light hearted DCAU if done right.
>All of Moon Girl S2 dumped Black History Month 2024
You mean they uploaded all the S2 episodes to Disney + already?
Yes
No, just the first half. Disney extended the episode order by ten.
Sounds like we got a third season after all, then
About 12 hours now
So based on the ending and the promos for the second episode I guess Lunella got PTSD from almost being American History X'd.
being smooshed coupled with the knowledge that her loved ones might never find out what happened to her.
I’d be terrified too if I got curbstomped by a super powered being with a grudge in an alternate dimension.
Loving the slapstick animation so far
Where's the second?
Might arrive tomorrow after its' TV premiere.
Later on today should be the two episode TV premier and tomorrow is the Disney Plus drop, right?
Yeah.
Plus drop is midnight tonight
Oh I should read the thread more.
TV schedule shows two new episodes, I only see a mega for one ep but I'm sure that will change soon lel.
Still if anyone wants to watch a bunch of moon girl eps live it'd be fun
Can't participate unfortunately since I have to work.
>That Lunella beatdown scene
Has any other DTVA protagonist gotten ragdolled like that?
Physically or emotionally? because Anne for the first and Anne and Luz for the latter.
It was very physical, the show straight up states that she would have died had The Beyonder not intervened
I mean technically Anne and Luz died... But I only checked out the ending of this episode and see Luz is suffering from PTSD so yeah congratulations Moon Girl your the new champion of angst town.
Luz all but died and got a one-time super powered form.
Anne is a clone now
That should come with some existential issues unless it's some Saul Goodman esque shit of pretending something devasting is not all that bad to cope.
I guess that does count.
same soul
It was okay but not as horrifying as they wanted it to be
Will there be a stream?
In the Moon Girl discord server, yeah. In like 35 minuted
Do you have a link?
There's a server? Is it active?
Dying and coming back in the same episode shouldn't count
comic logic dude, it's a weird thing
It shouldn't, but that's probably the most they can get away with in these Disney shows.

Kek. Lunella got fricked up by that dude. I hope Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur come back.
>I hope Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur come back.
Same. They got hinted at earlier in the first season so I hope they aren't just a one off joke thing. By the sound of it she's gone through some of the same stuff our Lunella went through so it could be cool seeing more of her and how she handled some of these situations.
ProZD:
https://twitter.com/ProZD/status/1753513767047159882
Molecule Man did nothing wrong.
He really didn't. Though I'm a little unsure why he couldn't just use that matter changing wand of his to rebuild everything that The Beyonder destroyed.
Had he fixed Lunella's ship and let only her go, he wouldn't have
I'm not caring for most of these episodes. I was expecting more crossovers and team-ups
>I was expecting more crossovers and team-ups
They did that with the last few Marvel cartoons. I like the show being more measured with how it uses the wider Marvel universe.
no season 3 then
I doubt it was going to get a S3 anyway seeing how shit Disney has been treating their cartoons lately.
then don't put it on mega/rip or leak it, I think that's why disney canceled so much shows from the DTVA side
No it isn't. That doesn't even make sense. Every show has had megas and torrents made for them. I'm honestly surprised to see someone who still thinks piracy effects these.
Those Tomatoes are hungry for some Devil dick.
I really need someone to draw Matsuye getting fricked by Devil, but nobody fricking watches this show.
Disney has just been the brown girl ryona channel for the past few years.
Have they? I didn't think most of these girls got it this bad.

>bawd up!
>That's why Mimi got them the name Hot Tomatoes
>Lunella gets PTSD - The Season
Well that's one way to start your show for kids
>Lunella is now a PTSD schizo who wears a diaper
Moonbros... we won
The episode was cool, but the script is not there quite yet. Art style, voice acting, music, and animation are all fantastic, maybe even better than last season. Just a fantastic look for a comic book show, should be the golden standard from now on, they even got Kirby dot lines for transitions. But the dialogue and jokes are still mostly weak, they're not as engaging or clever as they could be. Despite being Flying Bark's only 22-minute series, it feels like they waste most of the runtime and go all in on the musical segments, not the rest of the episode.
That said, Beyonder is still great. Kinda wish he wasn't such a loser but he still retains his charm. He's the best part of the show so far easily.
Damn that was an intense last bit of that first episode. The majority of the episode had that fun and goofy energy one may expect from this series. Made me feel like the big bad wouldn't be showing up until next episode. So seeing him show up and tear Lunella down after that peppy and fun rest of the episode made for a hard hitting contrast.
You know I like my dark intense moments in cartoons, but I felt this was lacking. Some of the darker scenes in Monkie Kid and Rise of TMNT I felt were more intense than this. It wasn't bad or weak, but I dunno, it lacked a spark. Like they wanted to go hard but still had to keep it PG.
Can you blame them, though, after this?
>posts a nothingburger
Yeah, I get ya. Really it was more Lunella's reaction that I think was the impact here. The actual beating and humbling she got wasn't really any worse than she got in the season one finale or even the first beating she got against Aftershock in the first episode. Heck, I'd say those two were probably worse for her. The impact seems to be exclusively in the way she reacted to it and not the actual time with Molecule Man. How after she spent her time on that world trying to drive home self reliance with The Beyonder, she was put in a place where none of that mattered and she had to be saved. Makes me wonder if they weren't allowed to go as hard on Lunella right off the bat or something.
>Makes me wonder if they weren't allowed to go as hard on Lunella right off the bat or something.
Probably so, I blame Disney's censors entirely for this
Too based for Disney
Probably true. I imagine they meddled a bit and made them alter some of their plans. Still, they seem to be hyping up Lunella being traumatized over this so that's still something and may leave more of a mark than any of the other girls got. The majority of them seemed to get over everything immediately the next episode so if Lunella is going to deal with this for a while this season I think that may make up for a less graphic trauma event. The emotion and after shock of the event being bigger than the actual event.
Yeah I guess I'll take something like this over nothing but I wish they sold the scene harder
I mean, she is thirteen. The body is still developing at that age.
I mean, she was being smothered in preparation for a stomping.
>Doll tf
nice to see my fetish represented.
How are you about puppet tf?
Depends on the type of puppet
>finally get to use this meme
Amazed Marvel let them use Silvermane. Probably most high profile villain in this show.
Floppy mouth, Muppet style puppet.
And 2
Niccceee
Technically any doll can be a sex doll.
They apparently had to find a workaround to even show somebody get punched in the face so that might be the case. The scene does look a bit different in the animatic
The punching scene at least was funny, so their workaround works fine as well.
I have definitely seen people get punched in the face in multiple other Disney cartoons.
https://x.com/e1n/status/1753675691319792005?s=20
So that's why they went comically overboard with The Beyonder's beat down and the sound effects. I was wondering what was going on and sort of figured that was the case. Weird how little they are allowed to do anymore but it is neat seeing these work arounds.
I think they actually did a great job with it. Beyonder is a comedic character and Lunella is trying to coerce him, so the over the top slapstick makes sense.
Then later, when Molecule Man is beating down Lunella, we see Beyonder's reactions for the most brutal parts of it.
Can you post the original animatic?
https://twitter.com/sktchmstrskllz/status/1753952657348477338
I think the puddle mud thing that was smothering her that we got in the episode ended up harsher in the end.
>you dont stand against the real big bads of the multiverse
>doesnt see himself as a big bad later on
Never understood that quote
Technically, he was trying to bring justice against a wanton planet destroyer.
Felt he referred to himself as a big bad
Maybe bad as in powerful or impressive, like the part in the fake Js episode where she wishes for something bad as in cool but it gets misinterpreted to be bad as in evil.
not liking this molecule man
He's visually imposing but he lacks good motivation
>beyonder destroyed my home
>but I'm also a self proclaimed villain so don't feel too bad about me
>now I'm gonna slowly kill this little girl for no good reason when I could just instantly crush her
>gets turned into a bay because he was dumb enough to leave his wand on his pocket while Beyonder was still out there
You need more than looks to be a good villain, I at least remember Wesley Snipes good backstory from last season, this dude ain't got that.
He certainly could have used a bit more, but as a way to ground Lunella a bit and beat her down he does his job alright. It does occur to me this show hasn't really done long lasting villains yet. Seems like they're more like obstacles than characters exactly.

Goddamn, the music segments get better every episode. There really is nothing else that looks this good on animated TV right now.
Yeah, they really go all out on a lot of these scenes. Really makes things pop.

Not every bizarre cartoon gag is a fetish. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Is the song from when they fight this guy in the first episode available? I fricking loved it
Its called “Deep Within Mashup”.
waiting for 1080p, moonbros
What's so special about the Super homie b***h Show?
So it looks like there's a Marvel official youtube channel and they uploaded the full first episode of the second season there.
Lunella's outfit for this episode was so cute
>Only 129 posts
Disappointing, but I'm surprised there's even a thread at all. Just finished the first 3 episodes, I think third ep is one of the best in the series.
Who has episode 3?
I have cable and the third episode was on demand. Looked like the fourth episode was on demand too, maybe they fricked up?
Eh, it'll all be up any minute now anyway. Was the third episode the fantastic voyage one?
Yes, and it's really good. But it's kind of ironic the best episode (out of the three) is the one with no real villain or boss fight.
>the best episode (out of the three) is the one with no real villain or boss fight.
The Click episode was one of the best last season and it was also like that
That one was fantastic. So was the science fair episode, and The Beyonder is more of a chaotic trickster than a straight villain. I never thought about it but I guess this show has pretty weak villains, especially since they STARTED with Aftershock. She was so cool and had so much personality and then they immediately switched to throwaway villains. And some of the throwaway villains have cool designs but none of them have personality or really feel menacing, even Molecule Man felt weak.
Don't forget she found out who Moon Girl was and never used it against her
Yeah, which was part of why she was so interesting and threatening. Not only was she super powerful but she figured out it was Lunella immediately and since she was her teacher she was unavoidable. No other villain thus far has felt as powerful, as much of a threat, or as much of a villain, which is really too bad. I doubt Aftershock will come back at this point either.
Wasn't her first act when she found out about Lunella's identity to threaten Lunella with her family to try and keep her from stopping her? Either way it's not like she was around for much longer to do much else after so she didn't really get much of a chance to do anything else with the information so the point still mostly stands I guess.
>3
Only the first two are out
It's up
Just so you know, the creators have stated that the show's only chance at getting a third season is if you watch all five hours of these right now.
Yep. Time to start streaming it in the background it looks like.
can you rip them
anybody gonna rip eps 2-14
*3
2 is already Mega'd here
They're on Disney Now too.
>period joke
It’s spreading
Do you live under a rock or some shit?
>Casey: No... Lunella... I'm having an unexpected visit by my Aunt Flo!
>Lunella: Your Aunt Flo? I don't think I've ever met her. Was she at your Bat Mitzvah?
>That One Racist White Girl Strawman: [chuckles] Luney! How adorably nappy headed you are! She means she having her first period!
That girl does actually show up in the "this mf got them fake Js" episode
I'm not really sure why she keeps getting called racist. She was commenting on Lunella's general style. I mean, canonically Lunella does have a messy style and habits with those shoes she keeps unlaced and the lab she has so it's not like that girl was wrong. Always felt like people who kept saying that were reaching for a controversy that wasn't even there.
>straight couple
The show is officially dead
>interracial couple
was hoping they'd retcon this somehow
Not enough, I want to see Lunella with an aryan chad
do you even read the comics
I didn't think anyone actually read the comics.
that's sad because she isn't gay
I did. She's too much of a narc to do romance in the comics but that came with its own benefits and flaws
yeah isn't LGBT is the point
So it sounds like this is a totally different Lunella then. Possibly anything is on the table with her then.
The show is officially kino
Anon they've changed so much from the comics already, Lunella isn't a cynical moody b***h but a energetic lovable scamp. Their only thing in common is that there's a smart black girl and a dinosaur, that's it.
Is that a chink or a beaner?
>That hair cut
Where the frick is this show? Why have I not seen anything about it beside Cinemaphile? On what platform? Cable?!
just get disney+ or watch it on disney channel
Funny to hear that because Disney has apparently been trying to advertise this one show very much wherever they can. Bus stop signs, interviews, trailers and adds supposedly everywhere. If this is the only place you've seen it then that's probably not a very high review of their ability to advertise a show.
Did they post the song from every episode on YouTube?
the designs are shit, the smug faces that they do are shit, their dance moves are shit. Not even disney likes this shit. Enjoy your threads while their last, year from now no one will remember
Also, I demand a Ruby Gloom thread

I was hoped for smaller files, but thanks.
I don't get why people do this either. 500 MB is perfectly suitable for 22 min episodes.
Hot dang. Thanks for being on things so quickly anon. This is a massive drop.
That's what I call Cinemaphile Mega Magic
Don't forget to watch it on D+ if you have it. We gotta get those watchminutes in if we want a season 3.
>Surfshark VPN only works with cellphone, not desktop
Well that's super inconvenient. There goes any plan to put it on the background. Thanks for nothing Disney
Anyone binge all of the new episodes yet? Thoughts?
Episode 9 so far.
I'm on episode 6 and it's good so far, an improvement over season 1. But the dialogue isn't quite there yet for me, not as funny or as clever as it thinks. Like they had to censor or limit some stuff to make it accessible to kids of all ages, despite trying to make a story with stakes and character conflict.
>Episode 8
>She kept the inflatabutt
It's also mentioned that she still wears a diaper
It's a useful tool in and out of super time.
>drag queen reference got removed
kek
Oh hey, that's something I didn't think about. It would be cool to go through those storyboards and animatics to see what changed and didn't
Probably copyright: that’s a Paramount show.
I'm going to assume Kid Kree has the best episodes
Nope, that's Case.
Close second, tho.
No way they put FRICKING BIG WHEEL in this
>They put Big Wheel in it
>Lunella didn't beat him
I hate love triangles
Can we all collectively stop pretending anyone cares about Eduardo?
It's embarrassing. He had one focus ep in season one and the writer's act like he's a main character
Eh, I kind of like him but yeah he doesn't at all appear enough for him to really matter much. If he had been a more recurring character and did more in the first season I think he'd be more well liked but as it stands he's just sort of there and has the one episode. Which admittedly was a nice appearance and moment for him but nowhere enough for him to be considered a main character I'd think.
the second episode is also out in youtube channel
give them more time and all season will be out too
The first two episodes are up on youtube now? That is pretty surprising. I guess it sort of makes sense since it seems like it's a bit of a two part theme with her dealing with the trauma of being beat up by Molecule Man, but I'd have thought the question of how it would effect her and for how long would be a decent hook to get people to see a bit more. Just putting it up there kind of answers that.
When is Gravitas going to come back? Considering he's shown up in pretty much every episode since he's in the opening I'd have thought he'd have come back by now. Or at least change up the opening animation a bit more.
We're doing it Moonbros, keep it up
Man is it good to have this series back.
Here's every remaining episode that hasn't been released yet.
>11 episodes left
damn
Kid Kree
>11
It shows 11 but Loter claimed that there's 24 total so maybe either one of them got scrapped or the last one is a "The End" situation
Doesn't seem we are gonna make it Princess Fisk, bros
Was hoping she'd get to show up. Seemed like she'd have been a fun addition. Though I guess it's not like the show often has repeat villains so she may have been a one off even if she did show up.
If we get a S3, she should be in there alongside Girl Moon. I could see their individual arcs do alright based on show Lunella's personality.
Here's hoping.
so if she gets in she’s just gonna be princess morbucks?
technically. Honestly after reading the comics, I think they should've kept Lunella's shitty attitude. It would've made more sense that she's all alone and shit. With her being extremely outgoing with regards to her community, it's hard to imagine a girl like her to not have at least one friend even without the character development
I'd keep her characterization from the comics. I think she's the most fully fleshed out antagonist Lunella gets because for all her bluster and wealth, she feels terrible about herself, but rather than tackle it constructively she tries to steal or cheat her way into it. All the money in the world can't buy confidence. Or talent.
Does this show have shipping?
Lunella and Edudardo
Is it on the tier of Star Vs shipping?
What they did with Kid Kree was weird
>spend episodes dedicated to them being a cute couple, making the audience invested in them
>then in the dance episode they make a message that they're too young to date and don't want to do it just now
>but they also confirm they do like like each other while saying they want to stay as friends
>also Eduardo is now into Lunella
That message of staying as friends could have worked, I've seen it done in shows like Recess. But this ain't it, it just feels like gaslighting and a curveball.
Just have them date, who gives a shit. Multiple recent DTVA shows just have main characters who date others around Lunella's age or even younger. Don't be cowards.
Not even close.
The point of the episode was going at their own pace and letting things hapoen naturally rather than feeling like you need to keep up with others.
Look at how they got aling great when there were no expectations, but as soon as they started acting like how they think couples "should" act it was awkward and weird. They're young, they'll figure it out.
I get the message that they shouldn't be forced to do what others do just to fit with everyone else, but my issue is with them calling off any romance between them just because they're "young". In cartoons, thats a copout. Especially in this show where so many crazy things happen. And if they wanted to go for that message, they should have toned down the romance. Nobody forced them to put that moment in the rooftop a couple episodes ago to reinforce their shipping.
Also, in the current media landscape where this show is literally getting cancelled if we don't give them a bijillion views before the end of the day, they might as well have just sealed the deal this season.
Considering that Cricket Green has a girlfriend at ten…
I'm not into grannies.... HOWEVER
I find it funny how she ended up with the biggest boobs in the cast.
Forgot my pic
Mimi is quite the looker. Even for her age.
I want more Devil Girl.
She's confirmed to come back in the next episode drop.
Moon Girl and Kid Kree work well together.
They're about halfway to forming their own Power Pack.
Seem's like fun lineup, but who's the kid at the bottom right?
Long story short, years ago Marvel had a line of comics called Star Comics aimed at younger readers, with a bunch of kid OCs. Wally the Wizard (the kid in green), Planet Terry, etc.
One character was Royal Roy, and he was basically a Richie Rich ripoff. It wasn't subtle. He was the prince of a European country, but the comic and all the gags revolved around how rich he and his family were.
Year's later, they introduced 616 versions of the characters. They all got revamped, but Royal Roy was the one with the biggest change as they leaned into the "royal" part of him rather than the "rich". Now he was Delroy Al-Kashir, the sole survivor of the royal family and young king of his nation, Kashir, protecting it from the traitorous Archduke Kraven (no relation).
Anyone got a compilation of casey screengrabs for refs.
>The Molecule Man redesign
I wasn't the only one who saw it, right?
Any feet this season?
There's this shot from one of the first episodes
, but so far I haven't seen one besides that. But there's fifteen episodes to go through so who knows?
So this show's shipping isn't as good as Star Vs. That's what your silence is telling me.
>Star vs.
>Good shipping
There are teases for LunellaXCasey (Casey's dads tell her Lunella is a "keeper" and Lunella considers asking a girl to the dance, so she's probably Bi) and LunellaXEduardo (Lunella gets a bit of an admiring look in her eyes for Eduardo's episode, she has a premonition of going to prom with him, and Eduardo gets jealous when she goes to the dance with Kid Kree) and Lunella and Kid Kree are clealy digging each other, but no, shipping is nowhere near the main focus.
Then I'm not interested.
Have you even watched Star Vs
Yeah, the shipping was so bad that by the end I wished that Star and Marco would have stayed friends all the way though maybe because the show was so much more fun the first season, and because I liked Jackie so much more than Star but that's just me. The way the show kept forcing Star and Marco into being together was so shit.
When I say shipping you know I don't just mean the leads, right?
Eh most Marcogays could care about starco since it was forced and it initially killed the Jackie/Marco ship, only for writers to do a 180 on Jackie to suddenly becomes lesbian out of nowhere. In the end, nobody cared about a forced shipping besides the Marco harem trope and Star's cuckquean fetish, especially that since star was supposed to be a self-insert if Nefcy's.
I'll take LunellaXCasey over fricking Eduardo. Loser is barely in this show and now they act like he's part of the regular cast.
That said given how ridicolous they portrayed his crush, I'm hoping it's just a joke and not a real thing.
>LunellaXCasey
I'm not much for shipping so I don't really care much one way or the other, but the show certainly does give one ample material for that.
i prefer them as a platonic best friends but man you're right they have better dynamic than whatever they try with Eduardo
The crew aren't going to neither they will deliver to.
I had to look up some of these heroes and villains to see if they were real because I've never heard of them.
What's the design they gave turbo in the show
Not bad I always liked turbo
Even though the helmet would get wonky
But i like there design
>Kiff season finale is next week
>Moon Girl on mid-season hiatus until who knows when
Is Hailey's On It in March really the only Disney Channel cartoon we have until summer?
Maybe Kiff Season 2, the 2nd half of Moon Girl, the Big City Greens movie, and Primos will all come out in June?
>Primos
That's still happening? I simply thought it was quietly cancelled after the backlash
It's (supposedly) coming out in June.
Maybe they shouldn't have dumped 3 and a half months worth of episodes in one day
This is when cancelling multiple shows comes to bite you in the ass.
It's actually kind of funny that. Disney Channel just this morning started airing advertisements again for their Saturday morning cartoon block and they're advertising it as the place for new cartoons. But the only two shows airing new episodes are Kiff and Moon Girl and next week's episode is Kiff's season finale. Seems like they waited a little too long to advertise one of those. But at least as far as Disney Channel is concerned, they're only airing two episodes of Moon Girl a week so it's going to be a while until they catch up with Disney Plus so that would presumably keep them afloat in the mean time until Hailey is back.
They would've had Primos if they hadn't delayed it, but something tells me that show's getting the dump treatment too.
Given that on what happened over the summertime last year tells you this.
Thank you Moon Girl
S2 has a fatter asset budget.
Haha, what a funny joke. A real knee slapper
>A real knee slapper
>knee
Moon Girl's fangirling over Turbo feels like an adaptation of her fangirling over Kamala Khan from the comics. I wonder if they originally wanted Ms. Marvel but Feige told them no.
MCU Kamala Khan is a fangirl, so a fangirl of a fangirl sounds weird. And they are forced to be pseudo canon to the MCU
Well, comic Lunella is also 8 as opposed to 13 going on 14, so it makes a bit more sense there.
To her, Kamala is the cool big kid hero. In the cartoon Lunella and Kamala would be a bit too close to being peers.
>TurboASStic!
>I'm sure to win because my intelligence is superior
kek
Now this is fun. Even if he doesn't get to do much sometimes Devil is always a treat in his scenes. Where's this from?
One of the boarders on the show
https://twitter.com/DerrickMalikJo/status/1753859239184101517?s=20
Now that's pretty cool. Fun seeing the crew play around and add some neat art to things.
happy "leaving mgadd s2 running on disney+ while the tab is muted and you do something else for the next hours just so the show does not get cancelled' day
>Disney being stupid enough to think that even in the binge era people would genuinely sit through 14 episodes in one day
>Disney also wanting to play this game after the disaster of a backlash Molly McGee fans gave them
>All of this during the protest
History will say that Disney cared for this show
Cartoons should not depend their existence on fans forcing constant playbacks of episodes
It's absolutely ridiculous. The execs have eyes and can see that these shows are being watched, and that they are loved.
Oftentimes these same fans are also the ones doing massive promo for these cartoons while the actual Disney execs sit on their asses, do nothing, and then make up some random justification for why they're cancelling the show.
Molly McGee's cancellation was especially stupid as Disney+ wasn't even where most of the episodes were originally premiering, yet they still pulled a dumbass reason out of their ass. At least Moon Girl's episode batch stayed nearly exclusive to the service they're reliant on so much
They also fail to realize international fans can’t support the show in time if it’s not released worldwide. There’s a reason Prime video cartoons like Hazbin and Invincible get so much traction, because it’s out globally and everyone around the world can see and discuss episodes together. Fans who aren’t in the US and have no VPN can’t do anything to support the show. We already know waiting for international release doesn’t help because they want numbers day one. It’s stupid.
More so than stupidity it feels like malice, they completely botched the international release of this show. Other Marvel cartoons like What If? Don't get this treatment.
>Other Marvel cartoons like What If? Don't get this treatment.
Wait, is that true? They really droped the What If nonsense internationally just fine but all the in Disney animated shows get screwed internationally? I knew the Disney animated shows like Kiff and Moon Girl and the rest take a long while to come over seas so I had thought all the other stuff did too.
Yeah, i live in Spain and What If? Season 2 got trending every day even despite it's "Bomb" release format. It was a simultaneous release. The way Disney treats their tv animation division is bogus.
Damn, if that isn't favoritism I don't know what is. Disney really does just pick every chance they can to mess with their TV animation branch. Which really sucks since it's the only part of them still making interesting stuff anymore.
At this point they might as well kill DTVA
Oh wow, so these fourteen episodes were the planned second season and everything else was an additional ten episodes ordered? That's wild. Sort of like what happened with Hailey's On It then. Man, I hope this Disney renewal freeze ends soon because creators having to beg people stream things multiple times just to have a chance at more is ridiculous.
So do we know when these next ten episodes are supposed to be coming?
The Beyonder interrupting the show to explain capeshit lore is my favorite gag in MGADD
So can other people see Beyonder, or is it a Great Gazoo thing?
They can see him
"The Molecular Level" was definitely written as the Season 2 finale
Considering what was said here
, yeah that was without question intended to be the season finale. Weird deal for this show to get. I mean, it's cool to get those ten extra episodes added. But I hope this isn't at the cost of a potential third season.
Better 10 episodes to settle the rest than just one longer episode
Seems to be the current trend with Disney as Kiff and Hailey also got extensions with their twentieth episodes feeling vaguely like season finales, it just wasn't quite as obvious with those two as they were both holiday specials too.
Can't wait for the rest of the season to come all at once in either five weeks or eight months
>Molecular Man was said to be the main villain of S2
>already got dealt with in episode 14
Hope this means Beyonder comes to be the true villain
Why is she so obsesssed with Maria Hill again? Is it because she's hispanic too?
Aren't both Casey and Lunella fans of hers? Seems like she's the face of Shield or something so maybe that's why they're her fans? Though I feel like they said something when she first showed up that explained Casey being her fan more but I don't really remember what it may have been.
How will they react when they find out what happened in Secret Invasions
>How I feel knowing the MCU will never ruin Lunella because any child actors would age out of the role within two movies
I agree, but Casey needs to make it to the comics so I can start reading them. Anyway did you know there's actually an MCU Lunella at Iron-Boy's Crazy wild disneyland ride.
Disney parks my beloved.
except for bayou adventure.
Who's the one uber obscure villain you want to show up?
Pic related.
talking uber obscure I’d like to see picrel
How does Disney treat DTVA?
Technically, you should be asking BCGgays for that answer: It got 4 seasons and TV film, it got plenty of favorable timeslots where it's aired alongside with Hamster, Miraculous and Bluey. As far as other DTVAs, it's quite the opposite in some ways.
Until further notice, this counts as a DTVA anime superform even if this one's just metaphorical.
If that counts then she's had like 10 of those already.
Is Lunella good enough to defeat Batman style the other dtva girls in super saiyan forms?
Can't wait until the season 2 finale of Kiff where she transforms into Rocky the Flying Squirrel to save Table Town from the Kamappa or whatever the frick.
Finished the season and it was good, better than last season. I like the continuity throughout it even if it's not much. Animation is still top-tier, but I felt underwhelmed by a lot of episodes. They seem to still be sticking with some cartoon tropes that aren't good enough for me anymore, not unless they have a good twist in them (and this one didn't). I did like how they used some comic book tropes like redeeming a minor villain, unknowingly falling in love with your enemy, secret identity troubles and facing cosmic threats. But I could use without a shrinking or dog episode, the art department is too talented to be wasting time on these stories.
I do feel this show can find it's footing in season 3 if they ever get one, but I feel Disney is asking too much of its viewers to get that many views. It's not that type of show to make huge numbers day one.
Which cartoon tropes are they using?
Dance episode, shrinking episode, dog competition episode, wishing episode, etc.
Also, most of the new villains suck
The dog episode was a bit weak, but the shrinking episode was funny enough to me to make up for it. Funniest ep this season so far.
you want me to believe Casey isn't the real superhero there?
she’s the real best girl
Speaking of Star Vs....
does she have a name?
She's meant to be a Star cameo, so I assume Star Butterfly.
Tho Disney made them take away the horns and cheek marks.
no I understood the reference just used to background characters especially references having a name
>They removed Steven
Good, that show needs to be forgotten, not celebrated.
I don't think its Steven, it's just some crew's sona, Derrick Mallick
That’s one of the board artist Derrick sona cameo https://twitter.com/DerrickMalikJo/status/1753934416227787165
>his sona is black Steven
>(looking for work) in twitter bio
Grim.
This Cecilia girl is fun. Wish she'd have shown up earlier but either way it's cool seeing Lunella hang out with other kids in her school and develop her other friend circle.
Add another to the "better than Eduardo" squad
Sure, but that's not really a high bar to cross. Cecilia not just crosses it but is leaps and bounds above it from one episode. Really makes me wish Coach and the Steam squad showed up a bit more. Coach is another character I found myself really liking the more he showed up.
one of my favorite frames and probably one of those you never found a reason to use
Eduardo is the show's equivalent to this meme
He tries his best. Just isn't given enough time to really make an impact.
The episodes of this show really don’t feel like they were made with the binge format in mind, I’m not sure why they keep releasing them like this
Yeah, it's weird how Disney treats Moon Girl like this when every other of their series doesn't get these big dumps. At most maybe five episodes at the start of the season but this was much more than that.
Especially when Disney really pushed Moon Girl during season 1.
She even had a Meet N Greet at Disneyland.
That is quite a sizeable promotion. Would be cool if they had a Devil around too, but that could be tricky.
They had a big Devil Dinosaur decal on the building windows and Moon Girl talked about him like he was inside the building.
Huh that’s something.
Alright, that's adorable. Cool to see some anons visited the place.
Gonna have to support the show getting the official comic now since I have no clue when Disney+ is dropping the show in my country and it might be too late when it does anyway
>I can't breathe
Lunella started doing fentanyl?
Looks good in comic, you know that's when the show's art style is great
>The episode where Casey and Lunella skate while singing and holding hands
So fricking CUUUUUUUTE!
It was adorable. And they even sang a bit during that song that played. I had really hoped this show would give ira characters songs so seeing them sing a bit was a sweet bonus
>me and the black girl that cured my white supremacy
Moon Girl magic at work.
Cute. In a weird way.
Blue supremacy*
Imagine being Latino and having white supremacy in the first place. Embarrassing.
For me, its Pops
They should have gotten Dunkey to voice this meme villain
?si=g9vC8cRehbwn3ZYH
>red
>archenemy was a yellow robot
I was expecting him to crush that yellow robot dog and incorporate himself with its color to become the true big wheel
>early reviewers of season 1 pissing and moaning about a single comment from the creator that said the show might get more continuity driven later, saying that it's already ruined the whole show before it even actually happened.
>season 2 comes and it's largely just standalone episodes aside from offhand references to previous episodes and the premiere setting up for the (mid-)season finale, just like in the first season
I don't remember much hate about that actually, these threads have been chill whenever we manage to keep them alive.
That only applies to comedic shows that violently shift to continuity-driven stories deep in the run. It's more forgivable with superhero shows since it's expected of them to do that.
I actually remember when Big Hero 6 did the complete opposite for its final season and it got lambasted for it.
Why did Disney forbid them to make the Star look more like Star here? Don't they literaly own the character?
separate universe
I mean straight up Pepper Ann cameo'd in Amphibia
that's not pepper ann it's peeper jan
Pepper jan deez nuts
NO SHUT THE FRICK UP, YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT ME ON THIS THREAD OF THREADS
Pepper Ann is so old and with no other releases I doubt Disney cared.
Is not like Disney has anything going with Star either.....
Except Disney are the kings of giving a shit about old shit. They single handely pushed for copyright protection to become a 80 plus years mess
They apparently don't like references being too on the nose
I wonder if Matt had to do something wacky to convince Disney to let this one slip through
couple goals
It was settled before they evern started
Aragorn, really? What's next, Marvel? Sauron?
>What's next, Marvel? Sauron?
He would be perfect for this show
I'm going to be surprised if they don't actually end up using him.
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Aragorn_(Earth-616)
Aragorn was the name of a winged horse belonging to Black Knight and then Valkyrie
Dane Whitman's a bit of a nerd
They did some decent amount of digging for these side characters.
Did any of them have a jet?
>Did any of them have a jet?
That seemed like a Wonder Woman reference
I think Black Knight is rich?
The character designer needs their dick sucked
I wonder why Lady Bullseye's getting all this love between Hit-Monkey and now this.
Lady Bullseye was weirdly hot.
I think they're both hot, which is why I posted them
I fear this show will be canceled and forgotten about before it gets the porn it deserves. I need to see The Beyonder sexually manipulating the girls.
Every plot significant episode is just nonstop bad shit happening to this girl.
She's only inhuman and sometimes she gets a rough reminder.
I do kind of like that the mom finally does something significant because I honestly kept forgetting she was there
How the frick is Peter Weller in this show
He must be pals with Lawrence Fishburne, the producer of the show
why do united staters like ugly dogs so much?
>the crystal of
>14 episode dump
they're trying to bury the show under the rug aren't they?
Frick Disney
What really kills me is the lack of simultaneous international release, Star Slop and all the other Capeshit doesn't get buried like this.
It's not really even just a Moon Girl problem. It's just how Disney treats all it's animated series. Not sure why but they make it hard to be an international viewer.
Day of the rope for Disney execs soon
(In minecraft)
I'm officially obsessed
Cecilia is such a brat. Corrective measures are needed
She's not a brat at all.
She is really dang cute. Cecilia being such a fun girl was a nice surprise.
if there is something i have to say i didn't like if how Devil is a default jobber even more than in season 1, would had prefer if they find excuses for him to not being in most of the fights
Does he at least get some good moments?
nothing too memorable i think, the one i can think is the episode with the other sidekicks animals if not the only major role so far
Yeah, it feels like for the most part they don't really have any plans for him. Which I guess is fair considering he's an animal partner character who can't even talk in a way the audience can understand so it makes sense Lunella and other characters would get preference, but it is kind of lame to see his role getting even smaller this season. I guess it's just a natural flaw in characters like him.
I hope they find something to do with him now that the family knows about him and MG.
Who was the goat a sidekick of?
This, maybe?
https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Toothgnasher
If I had a coin for every single Flying Bark show that did a Jojo reference..... I would have two coins. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
Would have thought they'd go for something more direct. Either way, someone is clearly a fan there.
Hailey is confirmed off it. Moon Girl is fricked.
>Hailey is confirmed off it.
What? Did something get announced recently?
Basically the lead VA described the show as “short-lived”
>short-lived
yep that's Moon girl
Huh, that is certainly ominous. I mean, they did say the first twenty episodes of Hailey's show were supposed to be the full first season and the other ten were ordered after. Perhaps those are going to be it's wrap up extra episodes to make us for not getting a second season. Sad if true. I kind of liked Hailey's show.
>Perhaps those are going to be it's wrap up extra episodes to make us for not getting a second season.
This is like the fifth show in a row I’ve heard get a handful of extra episodes to wrap up after they got cancelled, including apparently Moon Girl. Makes it seem like the Molly creators got screwed just getting a single wrap up episode.
Oh they absolutely got screwed. The only question is if it's on them for jumping and begging for the one episode to wrap things up instead of trying to bargain for more or not. By the sound of it everyone else got more than just one episode so I'm thinking BillBob just took the first offer of one episode and didn't try to argue for more.
I knew it was a short-lived series when I saw its first season had more than 20 episodes, but why the frick are you greenlighting shows if you're only planning them to be one season? Hailey is not over the garden wall, it's not a show designed to be this short concise story, it's designed to be a comedy that can run as long as possible.
And this has nothing to do with its quality, the show is mid to me. But the entire series is already done before it airs, so what's the fricking point? Like Glitch Techs, you don't give it any chances to prove itself before you shelve it. The frick is wrong with you Disney?
Disney may have more shows airing and being produced than CN, but at least CN doesn't pretend the shows they have will be long-running while secretly just giving them 1 season.
>I knew it was a short-lived series when I saw its first season had more than 20 episode
BCG and K got more than 20 episodes in the first season too
At this point the only way the show can be saved is if Daddy Fishburne manages to convince Kevin Feige to move the production to Marvel Studios (They do cartoons now)
Too busy producing a cartoon about cookie stores.
If 5 emmies and the Marvel brand couldn't save Moon Girl that Black cookie store show is fricking dead on arrival
You just know
>most hype moment in moon girl
>never appears again
I want the show to avoid crossovers. Keep the major league out of it.
a full season of le small hero is more than enough.
I actively hated this moment because I hate MCU. I wish Moon Girl was disconnected from it so we can see weird crossovers, like Moon Girl vs Reed Richards in a science competition, or Casey using her social media skills to make Spider-Man look good in spite of J Jonah Jameson's best efforts.
In fact, that's what I would want a S3 of Moon Girl to be. Moon Girl meeting iconic heroes and villains from Marvel comics, and how she reacts to it. Maximum comedic potential and you're using characters beloved by everyone in a show with a god tier art style. Hell, this show may have gotten 3 seasons in viewership alone had they done that from the beginning. And it could work thematically too, having this small girl finding herself and what she can do in an ocean of supers.
Mr. Stern... Your meds....
>Cecilia is such a brat.
Now I want to see her getting destroyed.
Goddamn it anon. Post more screenshots.
Lol wrong reply
You want to see this destroyed, anon? Surely you joke. Look how perfectly smug she is. Would you really want to see this turned into a drained, twitching, panting, sweaty mess?
>You want to see this destroyed, anon?
Bed shatteringly, yes. With broken glasses.
I want to see her smug face wince and grimace.
I like where your head is at anon. Yes, I think Cecilia would be perfect for that.
I want to take Cecilia's beanie and huff it.
That entire episode did feel like it was reshuffled a lot in its writing and editing
S2 is so much better than S1
Yes, I just wish the supporting cast and villains were better
>the supporting cast and villains were better
Who exactly do you dislike?
Other than Beyonder, Lunella, Kid Kree, and Casey, I don't really care about the other characters. Pops has grown on me, he was very charming this season, and so is Mimi. But I dunno if I love them, just think the'yre alright.
Everyone else though...they're just there. Not a fan of the villains of the week, they got cool designs and thats it. Most of the recurring cast is forgettable, like Eduardo, and don't do much to stand out in kid cartoons. They just feel like stock characters and nothing exciting.
yeah i can see what you mean with the villains specially when the plot isn't about them, they are pretty much straigh forward, villain appears to mess with MG/Lunella just because reasons. that's it
Eduardo is pretty based
He’s the cringiest of cringe
best comment to close the thread
That Turbo shit was fricked up
I don't think the Wakanda lady suffered enough.
Not in a racist way, but she was legit mentally abusing Lunella. Lunella and/or Mimi should have told her to frick off and never come back.
>she was legit mentally abusing Lunella
Africans are just like that.
Yeah she got off way too easy. I mean she caused Lunella to break down worse than any of the super stuff she had dealt with so far. That's ridiculous. It was presumably weeks of Lunella frantically trying to make something to please her and all she ever got was more and more ridicule and abuse. I was really hoping the episode would have ended without her trying to explain away what she did as just her perpetuating the cycle and instead she stuck with her harshness so Lunella or Mimi could tell her off. At least it was cool seeing Coach with the other Steam kids. I've always liked Coach and it's neat seeing him trying to guide Lunella's group and actually being a pretty good supporting teacher and coach even if he's in a field he doesn't understand.
Sure, but she also apologized and left. In that situation I don't know what you can do other than punch her in the face, which isn't the pragmatic solution.
Of course. After apologizing there isn't really much else Lunella or anyone there could do. What I'm saying is that I'd have preferred she had her stuck to her guns like the museum guy did instead of walk back.
legs
Very nice legs they are.
she better not end up with another uggo lesbian that turns up out of the blue
For a show called Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Devil Dinosaur feels kinda tertiary to her.
Doesn't feel much like a Dynamic Duo.
Yeah, he was already kind of a side character in the first season and it continuities in this one even more. Which is a shame, but he can't really talk so it's not too surprising.
The should let him be tiny and big at will. Like pretend he's a dog like Gir or something. Girls would like that I think. Would buy plushies and shit.
That’s why Hamster has a bigger role in his show: because he can talk.
>Lunella using a white boy tracker
>blue boy tracker
Haven't finished watching all the episodes.
I want this thread to reach the bump limit.
If this hits the thread limit and you haven’t finished, I’ll make a new thread for you
Cool, I was waiting to finish with my friend.
The show has won three awards for the Kids Programming Category at the Kidscreen Awards!
https://kidscreen.com/2024/02/05/breaking-news-announcing-2024s-kidscreen-award-winners/
I rather get 3 seasons then 3 kids awards.
It's got awards, it trended on Twitter, let's hope it's got the numbers for Disney to keep it going.
Of course, if the stockholder election results in the Perlmuttering then it's dead either way.
Cool, too bad awards mean nothing to Disney in terms of renewals
