All-powerful being learns what it means to live without powers, gaining courage to take risks in order to achieve his goals. Intelligent, resourceful but otherwise ordinary adolescent girl learns that even with all of her efforts, skills and risks taken, she alone was not enough to surpass an obstacle, becoming traumatized with the very real threat of death, a sense of helplessness and despair.
She was spiraling, on the verge of suffering a panic attack. Her confidence is all but gone, now what she feels is fear.
I really like the way the season began.
being lunela is suffering
When did this trend of kids in cartoons suffering realistic mental breakdowns due to all the shit they go through start?
i'll say Steven Universe but maybe it goes futher
I'd say Aang at the end of Book 2 going into Book 3 of Avatar was pretty jacked up. He had the lighting burn on his back, suffered insomnia, couldn't reach the Avatar state.
People forget it was a fairly big part of important episodes of Book 1 too. Starting with him freaking out over discovering what happened to the Air Temples (after not believing what he was being told before hand) and right down to him breaking down after fusing with the Ocean Spirit and going Koizilla on the Fire Nation Navy.
The difference is Lunella deals with those feelings by episode 3 and by the finale she's emotionally mature enough to fight off her fears and win. She dealt with that instantly, unlike that fat bastard.
Her life was and remains way easier than Steven's, along with the scale and scope of shit she deals with versus Steven. Steven literally had to pick up the pieces of a galaxy-spanning genocidal fascist regime and the fact that he was essentially the reincarnation of who would've been the heir apparent to the whole awful thing. Never had a real semblance of a normal life, and Future really emphasizes that he didn't get to live a healthy childhood, he was always living in the shadow of his mother or in service of others.
Lunella dealing with her PTSD in an episode's time through sheer willpower was shoddy. It needed more addressing.
Yeah, I was expecting it to last a little longer. Gradually getting better and possibly even with her not completely getting over it until the last few episodes. Which would make him coming back and personally going after her more frightening for her. But I also get why they probably couldn't have her breaking down over it for too long. Would probably heavily shape the stories they'd be able to tell with her. A compromise I'd think would be to have her mostly over quickly like they did, but every now and then have a flash or two back to that trauma. Don't need too many. Maybe only three or so before he comes back, but enough to show she's still feeling some of it. At the very least I do like that she did feel something about it. It's much better than the ones who have dramatic things happen and never once seem bothered by it.
Yes, exactly the scene and show I was thinking of. Anne got over this seemingly the same day or the day after it happened.
IRRC, Disney told them they had too stop.
So they had to cut back and more levity.
I feel like that explains a couple of things. Dang. May be interesting if any storyboards or early scripts get shared to see if there was any early looks that explored it more.
There was the “contrived” Enna-chan joke.
Damn, I never saw this before. Traumatic.
No
>No
Damn. Forever waiting.
I mean, they sort of did a joke like this at some point with Anne's mom anyway, didn't they? Though it didn't seem to register with Anne so it probably doesn't count.
Before that even, Hank and Dean (and thru flashback, Rusty) from Venture bros. Its kind of the pitch of the whole show.
tbh Venture Bros. is a show for adults, the other shows mentioned were explicitly created with kids in mind
How many other examples of it are there? Besides Lunella I'm kind of having trouble remembering any of them. More often it seems like most leads get over everything the very next episode.
Fullmetal Alchemist. Not even fricking joking.
There's a scene early on where the MC is captured by a serial killer, has his robot prostectics forcefully removed, and is about be killed when he manages to escape and beat the killer.
Instead of making a goofy quip or puffing out his chest with bravado, he just... collapse and starts crying because he's literally only 11 and that was the scariest thing he'd been through since he tried to bring him mom back to life.
That episode first aired in 2004, so a ton of the people doing animation now would have definitely seen it as the first time a kid character was allowed to realistically react to something so horrible.
God you unlocked a core memory damn you bro, I forgot that scene wasn't that 00s FMA original as well? I feel the scene worked on so many levels as we had just seen eddy at multiple levels. We saw him at his lowest (mom) his highest(destroying a cult) then low again with the killer.
I feel it was also the powerlessness of it all he went in to save winry and ended up needing to be saved himself. If he hadn't beaten him he'd have been fricked. Also really it let us know FMA was a different type of anime. It wasn't some plucky world where the heroes win every time or with no backlash.
Which is sad because most modern shows fail at really having this level of stakes or realism. Most of these depression arcs and break downs are either nothing blips or overdone like BB's from YJ.
You may be onto something there. The timing is even reasonable. Makes me wonder if we may start seeing more shows or ideas similar to it and things at the time being pitched around before long.
Most likely. All the 90s nostalgia that should have happened last decade just manifested in people rebooting those series instead. But you can't do that for shows American companies don't own. I image the nostalgia for the Anime Boom is going to seriously influence cartoons for a while.
Was this in the manga as well?
I recall 2004 Alchemist going off the rails because the series wasn't finished
In the manga, the serial killer character only shows up once he's made into a soul in a suit of armor after he was captured and used for human experimentation. In the anime, they added some earlier filler where they cross paths with him while he's still a living serial killer.
This is also why they can get away with him being a goofy comedy character for a bit, whereas all the menacing he did of the MC and his female love interest in the anime would've made that a bit less acceptable.
ahhhhh
mr horny
>OG FMA and Adult Swim airings are old enough that they influenced modern story tellers
This makes me feel, VERY old
Why? They likely watched it when they were in college.
Because I watched that shit when I was like 7
Fma 2003 was so fricking metal...
Full Metal even. A different time.
Evangelion
Unlike the fat frick, Lunella deals with her shit and moves on.
Well anon, I'd say you are on a pretty good pace with these. I'd suggest trying to make an account somewhere one of these days to post your stuff. Or maybe a catbox gallery if you want to pack light.
Maybe.
I fricking hate that Wakanda lady for bullying Lunella
Is that from the second season? If so, I haven't reached that part yet so please take care to hide spoilers with the spoiler tag.
It's from the comic
I want that lady to tie me up and humiliate my tiny dick
I thought her accent was hot
That's a good reading of what happened.
I likes the pathos, weird it went so hard.
I agree she got off pretty easy for that.
It's realistic depictions of panic attacks.
I think she had a better life then Steven.
Mega?
I don't know about MEGA, I use wcofun net and kimcartoon li. Both of them have the show, the former doesn't require login to download.
I usually do Kimcartoon if I don't care about the quality but this show actually looks good.
Link from last thread.

Last anon made me a fan of Cecilia now.
Now I have a MIGHTY NEED of art of her.
Same. Any ideas?
If it's NSFW my go to is a full nelson.
I have more ideas but I have to think.
Well let's hear those ideas anon.
A 2 panel image where it cuts to Cecilia in a broken bed, after sex with Devil Dinosaur.

https://files.catbox.moe/9mfdeo.jpg
Mega based girl
She's very cute.
Cutest surprise side character. I hope the second half of the season has more of her.
Honestly, considering how absolutely adorable and fun she was, it's kind of surprising they didn't use her much until the heist episode. I still haven't completely finished the dump, got about six episodes more to go, but I hope we see more of Cecilia. Either in this group of episodes or in the next.
Do you have more screenshots of her?
I've got a couple, but that collage is pretty thorough and has a good chunk of them.
Thanks for the collage, she's a new fave.
The collage wasn't mine, but I definitely appreciate seeing it. I think it may have been the same anon who made the Casey collage last season. They make for good reference material. And same, that one episode really made me adore Cecilia.
Casey and Cecilia, 2 cuties with a C name.
Hopefully this thread picks up some pace.
>Casey and Cecilia, 2 cuties with a C name
And both are hispanic, except one seems half-euro descendant and the other full blown indigenous
This sounds like a winning formula.
That's 2 wins, can they go for a third?
Casey is so right
You may not like how that ends but I did. Feels like they corrected how flat he started out.
How strong is Devil Dino? I always assumed he was as durable and strong as The Thing for some reason.
It seems to vary. At least in this show he's about as strong as the plot needs him to be. One episode he'll be fighting on par and beyond super powered enemies and in another episode he'll have trouble with garage kit Big Wheel. At least him being a good artist is consistent throughout.
What was this puppet gag about?
Not having seen the episode I thought they faced a villain who turned them into puppets or maybe it was a gag by the Beyonder. Seeing it in context didn't really answer it. I guess it was a visual for Casey and Lunella's wooden acting.
Damn, did I miss all the discussion?
Here's something, I never seen this hero
Moon Girl was the first I heard of Turbo.
A good chunk of it, but I imagine there's still quite a few anons that only caught part of the dump and still haven't finished it just yet so there should still be more to be had.
That's because she's one of the New Warriors, and the New Warriors have had the privilege of being a punchline since civil war because they weren't a big enough franchise to not use as the instigating incident of that story.
I'm gonna have to look up the synopsis.
Is there any character in Marvel canon thay could be this guy? He's giving away weapons of mass destruction like candy.
That's the Beyonder
Should have kept watching
this is the only thing you need to know with plotholes here
That'd explain it
Like that other anon said, it's probably The Beyonder. It would explain how he could have so many perfect for these characters gear and stuff. Maybe The Collector? But that would presumably contradict the movies and I'm not sure if they can do that or not. Not really even sure what he'd be doing having a garage sale on earth either.
I can't get past the Eduardo daydreaming scene
Why didn't Eduardo just date Lunella?
Is he stupid?
how can him after calling out her fake j's
Damn, he really said "WHAT ARE THOSE".
Tragic.
He couldn't come back from that. Shame though. Lunella's custom Devil J's were better than what everyone else had.
What if Disney sold these? Would kids wear them?
I mean, they did try to make Moon Girl merchandise early on so I could have seen them trying to push for something like this if those shoes became part of her usual outfit.
"Keep quiet while Master in talking!"
Did they go too far?
kys
no u
His Hispanic parents would beat the shit outta him if he brought home a black girl instead of a pure aryan godess to enhance the "raza".
what with the robo devil in far right cupcake
It's actually fanart kek
kino
Adorable. This really is just cheap knock off birthday gear. Honestly, I can't help but be glad to see Moon Girl is at least big enough to get this kind of silly stuff made for it.
That's worth it, didn't you see his dream sequence?
Yeah, he realized he fricked up
Can't blame him. It's hard to handle realizing he missed out on Lunella.
Why did Disney just suddenly release 14 episodes at once? Do they not care about Disney Channel ratings?
For Black History Month, I think they just wrote this show off for PR.
They poorly advertised it and aired it alternating platforms last year.
Should've been weekly simultaneous releases on Disney Channel and Disney+
Eduardo fumbling Lunella will haunt him forever.
I don't mind the Molecule Man being an alien, but I wish he at least had lightning bolts on his face like the comics version.
Rank 'em
Moon Girl>Molly. I don't hate Ollie, i'm indifferent.
I haven't really watched Hailey's on it.
So far? Moon Girl, then Hailey, then Molly. Kid Kree and Lunella were cute together nerding out and seemingly being the only ones around who understood each other. Scott and Hailey are usually pretty good together so I like them, even if Scott rarely really adds anything. I want to like Ollie more but it feels like he didn't really get enough time to really shine.
Because it's a spoiler and I for one do not appreciate spoiling people for no good reason, nor reading spoilers without warning.
Moon Girl is peak.
I know people hate Ollie, but Scott is genuinely a complete useless moron and Hailey deserves infinitely better. He's the type of kid who doesn't have long to live due to his stupidity.
Why would you spoiler the OP pic and text? Dumbass. I was looking for the new Moon Girl thread in the catalog and barely found it.
Moon Girl S1 was decent, visually great, but I wish the stories had a bit more punch. Is S2 more of the same, or better?
It's a bit better
there's so much more punch.
So far I'd say season two maintains the quality of the first season and is even better at times. My main concern with the second season so far is how it feels like the musical segments are more fantasy segments than actual progression of the conflict or plot and it feels like for the majority of them the story stops for a bit and continues only when the music video is over. Which wasn't usually the case in the first season and they usually were worked into the moment more. Still, good fun though and I'm really glad to have the show back.
>it feels like the musical segments are more fantasy segments than actual progression of the conflict or plot and it feels like for the majority of them the story stops for a bit and continues only when the music video is over.
any in particular that felt like that?
You know, I wrote that thinking for sure I'd come up with some examples but now that I skimmed through the episodes I've seen so far I'm not really finding any. I think the first episode and how Lunella's confrontation with Molecule Man musical segment mostly just being her dodging to the music sort of wore on me and that feeling carried past into the other episodes. The rest of them actually progressed or finished the fight or conflict of the episode. I was totally off.
Has anyone taught the Beyonder how to poop yet?
I never even thought of that, everyone poops!
Doubt it. He was only powerless for presumably a day or so.
I see this guy and I hear "IGNORE ME!!"
I keep thinking you are talking about Marik.
>same old shit
I know this show is on life support but I just can't bring myself to care. there's no stakes, no story to follow, not even cameos of other marvel characters. I lost interest when they paired Redwing with an OC. these people just don't care.
To be fair, everyone’s kinda tired of Marvel stuff.
enjoy the cancellation then.
here's to season 3 of Spidey and his amazing friends.
Killjoy.
>not even cameos of other marvel characters
and i prefer it this way, it doesn't need the obvious cameos everytime you make a new marvel cartoon
the one i can take is Spiderman for also being in ny
Yeah, I don't know what that anon is talking about. I prefer this show stick to focusing on Lunella, her crew, and her random one off villains. No need to drag in other Marvel cameos.
They got a lot of use out of out of this thing this season.
What the heck is Scott doing here?
Are we getting more Eduardo?
I want to see both of them being forced to team up
Heh weird they never set up their beef until the dance ep. Also Eduardo is hilarious kid kree is getting kidnapped by monsters and he's just like "oh no not our friend" so petty
Why? Eduardo can't do shit
Buh he funny loud boi?
imagine losing against a kid with a bowl haircut
>Quiet Kid vs Class Clown
I guess I could see some fun with the duo. Presumably having to team up to hell Lunella or something. I imagine Kid Kree knowing about Lunella being Moon Girl could maybe make things a little tense as well.
>Kid Kree knowing about Lunella being Moon Girl
You meant Eduardo, right?
No. Eduardo still doesn't know anything it seemed.
I misread your post. My bad
I didn't expect it, but I think I prefer Eduardo to Kid Kree.
Doubtful. I thought he'd show up more this season but it seems like he's only getting a couple of appearances.
Weird since they made him x lunaella a thing. Which is even weirder since it was lunaella that knew about the future of them at prom together. But if this show gets a S3 which is a huge if, I think he'll be in a love triangle rivalry with kid kree.
But why?
You're alright anon. I hope you see more of your guy in the next batch.
We know Ed eventually will take Lunella to prom as a canon event, so far all the other visions from the future like the Devil Girl fight have happened. Kid Cuck will frick up harder than him maybe he fricking dies in some capeshit space war
Autistic kid can't beat chad hype beast latino.
You will be defeated
Marvel wouldn't let the animated shows use the original Bullseye since he's appearing in Born Again so Lady Bullseye is their approved substitute
odds of any team-ups with notable Marvel heroes happening in this series?
Not counting stuff like Maria Hill, I mean like Spider-Man or something
I know Sam Cap had a cameo
Miles Morales(voiced by the same dude that voices him in Spider-Verse) because every single black zoomer worships him it would be an easy dunk to get people to watch.
I'm expecting more obscure and POC heroes.
I like seeing the heroes I've never heard of.
I always assumed it would be Miles Spider-Man.
I'm fine with that because I do actually like him.
would sony be weird about that tho?
they seem to be very specific about what aspects of their films marvel/disney can use without their permission
Would they be mad if it was the same VA?
It's not like it would be canon to the movies.
Sony bents themselves for Phil Lord and Chris Miller, they even offered them the position of heads of Sony Pictures at one point but passed because that studio is a shitshow. If let's say Fishburne of Loter manage to convince them then it's a done deal and Sony would simply accept. Speaking of are the Lego Movie guys gonna produce Matt Braly's Sony Pictures film like they did Mitchels vs. the Machines?
The Moon Girl staff has (had?) The opportunity to skip Peter and Miles and do the coolest crossover ever.
Considering he's relatively new I'd have though Spider-Boy may be possible. Though my bet as that there won't really be any notable heroes joining Lunella. Or if there are it won't be until a finale event kind of thing.
Now this idea is VERY fanfic-ey, but Imagine if one day Casey starts getting targeted by egyptian themed supervillains because her biological father turns out to be one of the personalities of a certain schizoid superhero voiced by Oscar Isaac. One that gave her to normal caring parents as a baby to live a happier life... Would that also make her a Moon... Girl? Moon Squire?
You could also in a later episode make her an ancestor of Miguel O'Hara just for the Oscar Isaac lulz but that's besides the point. Anyway I'm off to watch the final episode of the season
Oh shit, it's Silvermane! They really are teasing us with Spidey little by little like how Green Goblin gets neverendingly teased by the Spiderman games
They've also mentioned The Hulk a few times. Seems like while they may not be crossing over exactly they still want to make sure it's clear it's the same world. Or at least a world with some of the same characters.
I think Steve Loter said he and the writers originally wanted to use Amadeus Cho for the show but were blocked by Marvel so they transferred his intended storyline to Kid Kree.
Well, Amadeus in the comics is like college aged, I think? Definitively the oldest member of The Champions. Maybe Disney doesn't want him and Lunella mingling and "dating" because of the age gap in the source material, even if Amadeus was meant to be an aged down version in the show.
When Marvel blocks their cartoons from using certain characters, it's usually because they're planning on using them at some point in the MCU. It's why Lady Bullseye has gotten a surprising amount of love in both Hit-Monkey and Moon Girl, because the original Bullseye is going to appear in Daredevil Born Again. I do remember reading rumors about a World War Hulk movie so Amadeus could probably appear there.
Who the frick is Amadeus
Lunelluh, put your USB-C cable away Lunelluh
I like how big Turbos legs are, fantastic.
Did they really drop the whole of S2 at once? man this show is really dead in the water sadly. I mean even on black history month they barely advertised it unlike last year.
The new execs want to kill it just like they killed Molly Mcgee and like how they are trying to kill Hailey is on It. Nothing we can do, frickers already made up their minds. Support the upcoming Scholastic graphic novel so we can at least get new stories set in this world.
It's only got good animation to me, don't care that much. I'd probably just buy the comics instead. Sad though as it was well made show and I liked the whole song at the end in every fight it was fun and unique.
Really not just this series a lot of animated series are getting ass raped recently and these weird insta dump formats. Idk why it's weird but eh at least it may get a S3 cause black show and none of the crew have said anything about it being canceled.
>how mcuh of a push they kept trying to give it
It's like that meme about pride month anon, they do it for the clicks and brownie/virtue points. Oh see were down with the cause and your problems. Actually they just want more money and pull over you. Because guess what you buy disney plus for moon girl welp maybe you stay for avengers or *insert disney show* i barely watch anymore lol.
I mean, I'm not really that opposed to these characters staying in this show. Even if it would be neat seeing them reimagined maybe. As long as this show is given the chance to run it's course and tell it's full story. Unfortunately it seems like the chances of that are slim.
Marvel yoinked X-23 from X-Men Evolution and made her canon to the comics. Not using at least Casey in MG comics would be so fricking lame.
Wouldn't they reboot the comics or something to work her in? Heck, are Moon Girl comics even still going on?
Nah, Lunella and Casey aren't the oldest of friends, Casey can easily be a new student in comicbook LES or someone Lunella never bothered meeting. And yes, the moon girl comics still ocassionaly chugg along even if the monthly floppy format doesn't help them. The last run was from last year and she still wears that ugly raggedy raggedy suit that any genious girl would have thrown into the trash right after the first day and an upgrade.
Pretty much. Or at least what was apparently intended to be the entire season two. There is another ten episodes intended to be added before long but the crew has said these initial fourteen were the originally planned entire second season. Without those extra ten episodes Disney would have dumped this season faster than it did the first season. It's honestly impressive how either stupid or malicious they are being with this series. Especially after how much of a push they kept trying to give it.
There's actually apparently 11 remaining episodes, which might mean that the last one is meant to be the series finale if it doesn't get renewed, again like Molly
>Did they really drop the whole of S2 at once?
We didn't get the David Tennant episode yet.
We did.
What the hell? Which episode was this?
Dog Day Midafternoon.
Nice, face squish.
The little panel cut in jokes are fun.
The animation gets very creative.
Imagine how Casey would react when Maria died in Secret Invasion
Considering how much she throws herself at her, probably not well. Thankfully it seems this is a mostly self contained show.
Moongirl aint part of da MCU though
I imagine it's part of the overall Marvel movie/show multiverse since the showrunners keep talking about how Moon Girl is "MCU adjacent" despite technically not taking place in the actual sacred timeline itself.
I believe there is a hint or two that it may be taking place on the main Earth and it does seem like some of the designs are the same in Lunella's world. Still, I can't imagine anything happening here effecting any future Marvel projects and I doubt they'll be allowed to have any big names swing by.
Just checked DisneyPlus... apparently I somehow skipped it, I have no idea how that happened. I watched every other episode but somehow went right over this one.
Eh, it happens. Maybe the auto play jumped as you were going to the next episode or something. I'm not sure anything from it appears later so I don't think you'd have missed anything anyway.
Makes sense. I'll watch it soon.
Ehm, Bro?
Imagine if he had voiced Killgrave though
>Does he know?
Man I adore Lunella's silly goggles. The little emotiong they do is really cute.
It's so good
Cecilia made it to the dance. That's neat.
>dating the fat invalid kid
Girl’s not picky
>Make him fat on top of crippled
Lmao, poor dude. Will never make it
Eh, he's still in middle school. Give him some time and maybe he'll shape up. Regardless, he's already snagging a pretty cute girl so he's got stuff going for him anyway.
that boy ain't right
No he isn't, but he's got game.
They look cute together. Mostly Cecilia.
BWAH!
Cecilia is always cute. Also kind of fun how she was one of the two girls absolutely ready to date and play around with romance stuff.
Gonna have to save all of these to a folder.
She knows what she want, and it's dating.
For sure. I'm gathering what I can as we got. Glad to see she showed up in that dance episode and with a cute dress of her own to boot.
Thanks, I needed the screenshot with Excalibur face Eduardo.
Both Cecilia and Lunella had cute outfits, good art designers.
Oh absolutely. And it kind of surprised me that these new looks for them are probably only going to be used the one time. I mean heck, this cute early season two look for Lunella was only used once. They made sure to come up with unique outfits and looks and I appreciate the effort and budget went into it.
I think I like this look more then her default.
Her new season to costume is better as well.
This show introduces so many good things.
Cecilia is the cutest.
She likes fat men.
He has a third leg.
Aw that's a cute dress
This was a pretty cute look for Lunella.
Ironically reminded me a ton of Rise April
Both shows are animated by Flying Bark
Yeah which is why I said it was ironic
I did not expect so much engagment from this thread, making another one fora different episode would be for naught. So I suppose I'll send the image arrays here.
Yeah, I imagine we'll be sticking to one thread at a time. Which episode were you thinking of making thread for?
I was thinking about making one per episode to avoid spoiling other people (which is why the original image and text are hidden), but that didn't work out so well here.
>one per episode
Sorry anon, but this show isn't big enough to warrant it. If it was getting weekly new episodes it would make sense to have a thread a week. But with them all being dumped at once it's just not going to work.
The filename is specific enough.
Gardner Lunella was cute. It's pretty neat how many one off costumes and outfits the show has.
S02E04.
S02E05. I might send the one for episode 6 if I have the time to watch it and arrange the screenshots.
Kid Kree supremacy
S02E06.
FINALLY ANOTHER SEASON TO GOON TOO!
Were you just gooning to Casey, or were there any other characters?
I only goon to Lunella because shes my wife I'd make a shrine for her if I didnt occasionally have visitors
I wasn't expecting that answer at all.
You're alright anon. Lunella is adorable and very fun and has certainly become one of my favorite girls.
>I'd make a shrine for her if I didnt occasionally have visitors
Ur weak. I don't even like Funkos
I just noticed a bus stop near me has the paper behind glass. I'm really tempted to see if I can get it open. Otherwise they're selling for upwards of eighty dollars.
replace Casey with Cecilia
That's crazy talk.
Make Casey and Cecilia the behind-the-scenes support team for Lunella.
Now this could be interesting. Casey is often on her own when doing the PR and support for Lunella and pretty much everyone. Heck, she didn't even have a date for the dance since she was working. Giving her a partner of her own to bounce off of could work out nicely.
All I can see happening is Devil Dinosaur getting further sidelined.
But I like Cecilia and would like to see more of her.
I think funkos are okay if they're nonstandard.
If you don't have the trademark eyes and/or head they can look alright.
You seriously think he’ll be sidelined? He’s in the title, after all.
Also, do you think the STEAM Kids and/or the volleyball team will find out Lunella’s secret identity next? Also, how did people find out about Lunella’s secret identity in the original comics?
I'm not saying he'd get sidelined. Just that adding someone else for Casey to riff with while Lunella is doing her own thing could be cool. Admittedly I just want to see Cecilia a bit more. Though it's not like Devil isn't kind of sidelined sometimes anyway. It would be cool if the Steam kids found out about Lunella. Even if Lunella has pretty much got all the tech stuff covered on her own it could fun having them as a super support team for her.
>Also, how did people find out about Lunella’s secret identity in the original comics?
In the comics, Lunella just told her parents herself. Casey and the STEAM kids also don't exist there but there closest equivalent would be the Inhumans kids support group from the latest run.
The best thing about new characters is that you have more freedom.
I can't imagine Moon Girl without these supporting characters.
Does anyone else know?
What's the next black Twitter meme they should turn into an episode?
I hope this anon enjoyed the Mimi we got this season.
Me too
If this show gets canceled I'm gonna miss The Beyonder so much
Lunella yelling at him and hurting his feelings was so rude.
You had a reality warping best friend girl!
But I guess she's a child super genius.
It was very rude, but I also really enjoy how much of a b***h Lunella is.
>I also really enjoy how much of a b***h Lunella is
Same. I like seeing the bad side of Lunella. Helps balance her out nicely. She can be mean and hard headed sometimes and she can be smart enough to get herself in stupid trouble.
Love how Devil taking up art from early season one evolved into him now being able to make entire paintings.
A dinosaur of many talents.
i liked how the giant fricking dinosaur was their secret member in the museum plan
He's a lover of the fine arts. I also enjoyed how he was apparently the only person there on good terms with the museum curator.
I don't remember him drawing back in S1
I don't have it on me right now but when I get back I'll find it. If was in one of the early episodes where it cut away to see what he was up to while Lunella was doing her thing and we see Devil made a simple portrait of himself. I think we also see him painting in one of the credits things for season one, but I'm not too sure on that one.
Took me a bit but I found one shot of it. I think there may have been an earlier one as well but this was from the Coney Island episode. He's a dinosaur of many skills.
You know what I love about this show? It's willing to put it's characters and their lives first and all the super hero shit second. Rather than try to have a plot that builds up episode after episode, it's small consequences from those episodes that snowball then comeback later. Rise of the TMNT did the same but I feel like people got annoyed because it DID drip feed the plot so at some point they stop having fun with the show and just want it to "Get on with it"
Yeah, while there were times I kind of would have liked to see more of the hero side it's hard not to enjoy seeing so much of these characters lives and personal things going on. The super stuff is the spice but themselves are the main dish and it builds on each other well.
Sure but that can make certain stories boring
S02E07.
Did we get any more of this?
No
Sadness
She's cute.
Feeling blessed. Thank you, anon
cute, and also the draw, good job
She certainly is and that is one cute piece as well. Nice work anon. Cool to see you around these parts.
Who are you? I like your art
I forgot about this, I'm not locked-in, anon.
This went so hard Disney had freaked out.
Eh, it was a short blink and you miss it scene anyway. Like with gardener Casey and Lunella.
We're never going to get Lunella feet, are we?
>She was spiraling, on the verge of suffering a panic attack. Her confidence is all but gone, now what she feels is fear.
I read this in the voice of the narrator/ancestor from Darkest Dungeon.
Man I wish we were still in the age of endless tie in video games. For sure this series would have gotten a game back then. Sure, the odds of it being mediocre would have been high but it could have been a cool little thing for them to try out ideas in.
Slow thread
Can't be helped with the release schedule the show got.
Yes, it's a shame. I like this show, a lot.
Yeah, the Star Wars reference. Backstab.
That anon was happy to get his feet.
And you got it again, I wasn't looking.
I just got this shit as a youtube ad lmao. Second time I’ve gotten a full block of animation as a youtube ad.
Did it advertise the full season or something? The first two episodes are officially up on YouTube so I wouldn't be surprised if the ad was the whole episodes either.
Am I crazy or is Journee like a smart Dejonay?
It’s Jurnee. I haven’t watched ‘The Proud Family’ in a while, so I’m not sure if you spelled the latter right.
>Scrolling down a twitter compilation thread of One Piece references in other media when
>Cecilia jumpscare
Who Cecilia prefer, Sanji or Zoro?
Im not going to rewatch all the episodes to look for rares Cecilia I'm not-
Do it.
Let's go anon. Rewatch time. They need the views.
She's there when you least expect it.
Glad they finally integrated One Piece into the MCU
S02E09.
Episode 9 is in my top 5 episodes.
Yeah, it was a fun side adventure for Lunella and it was cool seeing her build up a small crew of her own to work with when she's Lunella instead of Moon Girl.
Yeah, that's the reason I like it.
Very nice work
Thanks, I was bored.
Knowing this board's taste I shouldn't be surprised by the Cecilia fixation but it's disappointing nonetheless
What's wrong with Cecilia? What were you hoping for instead?
>What were you hoping for instead?
Lunella, Mimi, The Beyonder, Casey, Quickwhip, Lady Bullseye, Matsuye, Aragorn, Odessa Drake, Aftershock.
So everyone but Cecilia? This just gets me wondering what is it you don't like about her.
>This just gets me wondering what is it you don't like about her.
It's moreso indifference than dislike. She was charming in the museum episode but nothing special. Of course it's no surprise to me the anons on this board choose to fixate on the stick thin lightskin Latina that looks like a prepubescent child.
Thanks, anon. We need more art like this.
Lunella and Casey already have art.
But the rest do need some art too.
Will this show get a season 3 or is it dead?
It’s up to you.
I've already watched on Disney+, I didn't pirate.
Am I'm gonna have to just leave it on auto play?
Yeah, apparently that's what we have to do. Watch it on TV too if you have cable. I've had Disney Plus streaming the season on a muted tab multiple times since the season premiered. About all we can do at this point.
I'll do my best, anon. But I don't know if my best is enough.
Thanks anon. That's all one can ask for. All we can do is stream and watch it officially when we can and hope for the best. That and enjoy the time with Lunella and her crew we have with us now and will have when the rest of this season comes.
I'm looking forward to the rest.
Well, let’s not forget telling other people about this show. After all, exposure isn’t just the number of views, it’s also how many people are watching it.
I'll try, I already watched it with my friend.
Good point. Yes, word of mouth is important. I already got someone I know into the show for the first season and am hoping to see what I can do to get some others interested in the show.
Lunella will never catch Rockin Rudy.
Shrinking makes for good cartoon plots.
Whoops
Moon Girl can stop reality warping threats and monsters, but she can't stop someone so fly.
Second season isn't even done yet. Apparently the odds of a third season are all up to streaming and view numbers so it's time to start streaming and rewatching.
>Moon Girl dead because of no Marvel Heroes interactions
is it a disney embargo or are writers too proud or stupid to have Lunella meet Miles?
Feel like the decision to renew or cancel this show has already been made by this point (if it wasn't already made before the season even started)
It really feels like the industry is gonna collapse.
She will bear the burden.
Casey makes the most fiercest expressions.
S02E10.
Tincture of Tininess continues to be Lunella's most used invention.
S02E12.
Sailor Moon dress Lunella was cute.
S02E12 P01.
What happened to that white girl Eduardo was in love with in the comic?
Literally the only reason he was created was to do a cute shipping b-plot with her,
I don't even know who you're talking about.
Abby? Not in the cartoon.
Will they adapt the PSA comic?
Probably not.
>Bottom left
Lisa Simpson looking ass
is that og eduardo?
Highly doubt it. Of all things for them to adapt I doubt that would be one of them. Not even sure Disney would allow it.
Hopefully not
Cute Lunella
I hate shilling for the M*use, but pre-order the flipping comic, folks
Is it any good?
>Moon Girl: The Show: The Comic
Hey, it worked for Batman.
Three times, in fact
Is it already available to preorder?
Yes, it's on Amazon
I'm guessing it's going to be one of those "ani-manga" things where it's just screenshots or is it original art?
I hate when they just use screenshots.
No, it's original art. Very fast paced and manga esque in the way the action is portrayed, at least compared to regular capeshit floppies controlled by the Marvel editorial commitee. The gang is going after The Collector in this one.
That actually doesn't look too bad. Glad to see it's not just getting a screenshot comic and it's an original story. That it's the Collector is an interesting turn. Didn't think they could use characters already shown in the movies.
Well, he is making an appearance, but the main plot is Lunella getting into a roller derby team that might be committing crimes on the side.
>the main plot is Lunella getting into a roller derby team that might be committing crimes on the side.
That does sound fun. A nice side adventure for Lunella to get up to. Considering the outfit she's wearing I'm guessing the story would take place during season one.
Hot dang. Heck yeah. Slim shapely and plenty confident. Cool seeing another from you anon.
will he lewd her?
I'd like to think he would, but he usually does his random lewds based on suggestions from his chat during streams and I haven't seen anything relating to Moon Girl suggested. Honestly, I was kind of hoping he'd have done a Lunella or something when the new season first came out, but he didn't. Makes me think the show really isn't on his radar. I've suggested the show a few times during his streams, but it's not easy when there's so many others around there.
If your talking about JCM2 I'm pretty sure he's done art of Casey
If I remember correctly, he's done one Lunella and two Casey. Nice pieces of course, but those were from early on in the series. I was always kind of hoping he'd do something for later episodes.
Oh, I guess he only jumps to doing stuff for whatever new e-girls pop up so they have *something* then it just depends on how much he actually likes the show
Yeah, I think he did that Lunella he did he did either right when the series premiered or when the final trailer was making the rounds before the premier. The Caseys were seemingly inspired by recent episodes though since one of them involved the troll symbiote and the other involved her nurse look from Moon Girl's Day Off. It seems like it either has to be popular and making the rounds or it has to catch his eye as a suggestion during his stream.
>Frilly top
Damn, now that is real hot. Our girl is surprisingly well shaped and bold. Really nice work there anon.
Got a Pixiv?
isn't there a screenshot of Cecilia standing with her hands on her hip?
Why? I don't think I have that saved.
I don't know who that is. And artist?
I think it was from a frame from the heist I saw it in
Closest I could find after a quick skim was this shot. Was this it?
yes thanks
>And artist?
Jcm2. That's the icon he uses in some places. Odds are you've seen pieces by him if you've ever went by any rule 34 sites. He does a lot of works and streams regularly.
Was it from the heist episode or from a different appearance?
Say anon, you happen to have a place where you post your work?
No I don't, just posting these edits to the thread.
Fair enough. Well it's cool seeing your work either way.
>there is no white people in this show
>except for when they need a bad guy
Why are they like this?
Phil Spector?
He was a crazy bastard.
Which season is better so far?
Little hard to call since season two still has those extra episodes coming, but it's pretty close right now with the second season coming out on top. Really liking the little arcs and stories Lunella has had so far this season. Getting over the Molecule Man beat down, Kid Kree and the relationship with him, butting heads with Casey, and the ongoing idea of having to eventually tell her family about her being Moon Girl. Even used some of the side students a bit more, which was cool. My only real complaint is that I kind of wish Devil got to show up a bit more, but he's the sidekick and can't really talk so I get why his time is often just showing up at the end of the episode and doing a thing. That and maybe it would be cool to see some of the characters introduced throughout the season showing up more than once. But that was something in the first season so it's just a series thing. So far I'd say it's been a pretty solid series.
S02E13.
As a fan of the turbo character I really like the design they did on the costume even made the helmet work well
Can anyone update the recap pages for the show on TV Tropes?
Didn't known people used that site anymore.
Why?
What a marvelous art piece.
Family all there.
S02E14.
I stored the compilation of arrays in catbox, they can be found here:

With this, I have caught up to the second season by watching two episodes a day. It has been an entire week of [Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur] for me, quite fun.
Two episodes a day? That's probably a good pace to go at to draw out your time with the show. Much better than having to blow through all at once.
They only bring out this show on BHM tho
Not surprising. Disappointing since it means year long dry spells of nothing but waiting, but not surprising. I'm not looking forward to March when Disney will pretend this show doesn't exist anymore and we won't know anything about it until next February.
I understand for marketing.
But that's a bad way to treat this show.
It should be more then cheap promotion.
I just don't see why they put so much into advertising if this was their plan for it. Just a show to dump out during February and that's it.
to* me.
Can someone change her outfit
Change it to what?
those this captain america costume https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=2350402&tags=captain_america+genderswap+
I refuse to believe Silvermane's autonomous finger wasn't a Kid
Named Finger reference
YOU ARE NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN!
Lunella got cancelled didn't she?
I really liked how season 2 went and maybe it could come back but that line is a hell of a fruedian slip
You know, that's an interesting question. The next ten episodes were added on to the original fourteen, right? So that would have been the season finale there. That it's not means whatever we see next and how that next batch ends is going to be something to keep a close eye on.
What did you think of the Whiplash: Robot Wars episode? Especially its moral of not pressuring yourself for excellence?
I thought it was pretty good. Lunella is often dealing with super threats or family things so seeing the school side of her life giving her trouble is good for variety. Sure, BattleBots is a bit of an out there idea and not exactly a normal school activity, but the core is still there. I really liked seeing Coach out there in a role again. While he's not really sure what's going on science wise, he knows how to lead a team and still guides and supports the Steam kids the best he can. Seeing the contrast between them and how Lunella was being worn down made for a good parallel. I only wish the Wakandan woman got chewed out a bit or something after the nonsense she put Lunella through. Just an "I'm sorry" from her felt a little weak.
What did Lunella mean by this?
She's into pretty boys.
Lunella was willing to go to prom with a literal slime creature she herself created, not surprising she wouldn't be willing to go with a girl too
Lunella considers every option.
I thought I wanted more people watching this show but the pedogays latching onto Cecilia has been awful, this was not worth it.
Oof.
just because people like Cecilia don't automatically make them a pedo, is like coming to the conclusion that liking Nintendo = man child ... don't force shitty narrative just because people like something you don't.
You guys are literally in here discussing pedo artists in relation to her
You certainly have quite a way with capturing the show's style there for these redraws anon. And the personal choices for the bits are cute and match very well. I dig it.
@142213896
Bait used to be believable
Not bait, it would've been better if this show had just been quietly canceled and never came back. I'd genuinely prefer that to this shit.
Oh yeah, it was totally worth it. Adorable excited nudist goober. I didn't realize how much material these would offer but man is it cool to see.
