This is a disgrace, maybe I'm not enough of a yank lover to get into this overinflated Mcdonalds version of emotional cinema about 9/11 or whatever but Jesus christ it's boring. Also Norton just never gonna sell a tough guy character, he's always gonna be a soft faced nancy no matter if he's got a 6pack or not.
Why should I care 3/10
And this one also. I at least expected there to be some more gravity behind the most successful company in the history but nah, lukewarm character study about Apple fanboy's favourite messiah
6/10 - Fassbender carries it
It’s not even about 9/11. WTC attacks happened when the movie was already in production, and Lee figured it would be weirder to ignore it.
Agreed. Fassbender was great, but Boyle is overrated and Sorkin’s schtick gets tiring after awhile.
Who the frick is Steve Jobs?
i wonder how it feels when the whole point goes over your head?
easy with the fart sniffing, this really isn't the movie that you can pseud your way with
media illiteracy in action
Overrated? Nobody knows about that movie
not according and in relation to the almost 200k ratings there, it IS a bit old that's true
it's kino and my homie brian steals the show
hey OP
you don't have to agree with me, just post yours and then you have the right to judge
I didn't watch any overrated movies lately, unless you count shit like extraction 2 and john wick 4 which are overrated if they're considered anything but absolute garbage
corny dialogue, shitty acting, nostalgia bait, and an unknown ambiguous antagonist can't be saved by cool visuals
You are moronic, it's not even about 9/11 but I see your brain is not able of telling apart the topic of a film from the background
It's one of Spike Lee's best films
>It's one of Spike Lee's best films
Spike Lee "films" are childish trash.
Every single one of them.
You haven't watched any moron
What exactly do you find childish about each of his films? Spike Lee is a whiny child IRL, but he’s one of the best American filmmakers in the business. Only has one miss in his career and it was a near miss.
yes its his best film and it's also shit
Bumblebee (2018), I caught it on tv last week and gave up after some time and went to sleep.
The one you posted tho is pure kino and I might rewatch it now
Black mirror, waaay too many misses
Shame (2011)
wah im addicted to prostitutes and jerking off ohhhh :((
to someone who doesn't recognise it as an addiction I guess
cause nofap is real
Sure but a whole movie out of it is just bad
I havent cringed as hard at a scene as to that boss fricking his sister in his own apartment scene
I think the sister character in general was such a b***h that it made it a hard watch
Hold my beer.
Also, just because you don't care doesn't mean the movie is bad. Is the movie an actual 3/10 from an objective standpoint or do you just attribute your boredom to the well-done aspects of the movie?
It was generally uninspiring, they say Spike Lee is famed for his directness and pureness in movies and I guess so, to me it all felt flat. Apart from me not identifying with the american perspective, the actors don't have much to work with, the whole script is a bare bone filler that drags on like the foreshadowing half dead dog at the start.
There's absolutely no tension throughout.
The whole metaphor for New York moving on from 9/11 and rising up and coming back, it's already a bland topic and then it's done in such unengaging way
Fair. But in terms of scoring. a 3/10 is a bit off no? it would be deserved for something going out of its way to be more than just bland. A bland movie would be a 5/10 strictly speaking
Yeah you're right.
I've become the thing I hate, the overcorrecting voter on the internet
The Cranes Are Flying – "MOM I'M DIRECTIIIIIIIING!"
Oldboy – incredibly moronic plot and the style is like Fincher but even more teenage
Network – PEOPLE YELLING ABOUT SHIT FOR TWO HOURS THIS IS IMPORTANT
The Cranes Are Flying has such a timeless story and the camerawork is still amazing to this day, do you want static camera wankery only? I kinda agree about the rest
>timeless story
Boring af
>the camerawork is still amazing to this day
The camerawork is flashy and cheesy like Birdman
ending turns this movie from being 10/10 into 7/10. That father speech was holy fricking reddit
Yea it was shit
Cameron Crowe is a menace to society. Jason Lee is annoying as frick. The non-stop usage of liscenced music is groan worthy. Tom Cruise is a whiny incel for the majority of the movie. "Oh nooooo I'm a rich CEO"
3/10
The cinematography by John Toll looks really stunning at points.
vanilla sky?
186894020
North by Northwest
Cary Grant's performance isn't that good at all and some of Hitchwiener's dialogue is school play tier awful.
i've watched this movie about 4 years ago and i don't remember a single thing about it, not even one plot point
It's been a long time I don't really remember this movie but I remember hating the ending. Doesn't he basically just run away?
For me the most overrated garbage to come out that I've actually watched (don't watch new movies) was Midsommer. Holy shit that was a piece of shit. It rips off like 5 different movies, (descent, Shining, wickerman, etc) and is full of tropes.
I love how the black guy couldn't be a normal character, nope he has to be exceptional by being the smartest person whose idea is stolen by whitey. Yet all the characters in the movie are moronic. Yeah take a piss on the sacred tree belonging to cultists who sacrifice people. Why not take a shit!
Only good thing about the movie was the setting and set design. Some really cool set design and artwork. Total reddit movie the only people who appreciate that garbage are millennial and zoomers who don't watch movies that came out before 2000.
