I thought the second was almost as good but, yeah, the third was trash. I haven't even bothered picking up the fourth since I hear it's even worse.
Actually I think the third is better than the second. The second has some cool bits but the Dalinar focus on the third is really good. The fourth is definitely the worse of the four so far though.
I'd say 1>3>2>4, because the first might be smaller-scale but the Bridge Four plotline is straight kino the whole way through.
Third was shit. Yes, Dalinar's backstory was decent but that's like 10% of the book. Everything set in the present was horrible. And then it ends with an overly long Avengers-esque battle. Pure trash.
