It never made sense that Aunt May and Uncle Ben were geriatric when Peter was in high school anyway. They're his actual aunt and uncle, so they should be around the same age as his parents (if they were alive), which should be reasonably somewhere in their 40s, early 50s tops. Marisa Tomei made sense.
it's not improbable that richard parker would have a considerably older brother and may being old adds tension to peter's personal life. the mcu films insistence on giving peter a young may removes that tension and it's another reason why that trilogy falls short of raimi and webb's films.
