Aside from the Twin Towers and the style of the cars, I would imagine it still looks a lot like this, although I've never been there.
What exactly is different about it?

where the car and sleeping man is now a giant bike path and the empty green fields are now little parks and shit
>where the car and sleeping man is now a giant bike path and the empty green fields are now little parks and shit
holy fricking soulless. just compare op to yours.
The city has become gentrified as frick, lots of new development has gone up over the past few decades hiding all the beautiful architecture from past generations making the city look artificial as frick.
>What exactly is different about it?
Wealthy people priced out the middle class, so nobody really lives there anymore. There's people who pay $4k/mo for a studio apartment, then there's the homeless people. That's it. Nobody raises a family there, so there aren't any small businesses. Everything is either owned by a corporation, or a big enough tourist spot that they can stay afloat.
>so there aren't any small businesses
Do you actually expect people to believe this shit?
pic rel is the block I live on. entire street lined with crappy little shops and restaurants. whole city is like that.

pretty crazy how much development happened on the left part of OP's image, there's tons of high rises when there was nothing there before. Honestly it's shocking that even back in the 70s or 80s whenever this pic is from there wasn't any development there.
Crazy how they managed to do this even back then. Isn't NYC full of israelites? Were they too pussy to break up the march and beat the shit out of them?
It's really depressing how NYC looks nothing like this anymore.
