>historical epic genre
It has a vague historical setting but Robin Hood is a legendary and fictional or composite character, his story is no more historical than that of King Arthur or Merlin

So like Ben Hur, one of the prime examples of a film in the historical epic genre?
People viscerally hated this movie when it came out and I don't know why
I saw it in theaters with D-Box seats and it was great
It's certainly better then generic action movies nowadays
Dude. This was supposed to be kino. Russel crow messed up the original script. It was supposed to be the sherif of Nottingham investigating crimes and happenings around town and eventually reveal Robin Hood. But no. We had this instead.
No it sucked because of the amnesia twist and the ahistorical political ideology. Robin Hood shouldn't be helping the barons. They are part of the oppressive system.
>How dare they show Capone reliving his regrets as his syphilis-ridden brain can't even regulate his bowl movements anymore. >That's not based! Humiliation ritual!
The Father came out the same year and had pretty much the same concept and swept the awards. Am I the crazy one here?
I liked Scott's Hood because I'm a history gay and so is Riddley so you can see all his passion in the setting, costumes, etc. The story itself is just too bland. Funny thing, originally this was going to be a really cool movie called Nottingham, focused on the sheriff trying to capture a serial killer/criminal and discovering a plot to overthrow the king by a band of men from the crusades loyal to Lion Heart. This was made into a comic that is ok at best (picrel), still it was a great idea.
That movie sucked so bad it killed the entire historical epic genre. Frick you OP

>miami vice is kino

beowulf although it has its fans on this board
saw that in theaters and read the book for it
Frick it, I enjoyed Caligula the unrated cut
Battlefield Earth
May I second this? It's trash kino, is it hated because of Le Hubbard?
Everyone loves Backdraft.
I like the 5th element and I won’t pretend I don’t
A bunch of gay ass contrarian incels love Miami Vice, you are not unique and special.
For me it’s Alien 3
Alien 3 is better than Aliens and Fincher has been shooting himself in the foot for almost 20 years.
i like the roadhouse remake and shallow hal
Kek I bet you even paid to see the roadhouse remake

To be fair, it was Cate Blanchett that ruined the movie. Her just randomly showing up with some kids to fight in the final battle was cringe as frick.
