You will never be organic. You have no hype, you have no grassroots support, you have no fans. You are a collective of shills twisted into a crude mockery of love for a show.
All the “hype” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Jeff Bezos is disgusted and ashamed of you, your employers laugh at your tiny paychecks behind closed doors.
Cinemaphile is utterly repulsed by you. Tens of years of shilling have allowed its posters to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even your memes which “pass” look uncanny and unnatural. Your political correctness is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a Cinemaphile poster hyped for Mr and Miss smith, he’ll turn tail and pirate it the second it comes out.
Mr and miss smith will never be a beloved TV series. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning as you start your frick you, I liked it thread and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.
This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

I like Donald Glover quite a bit but holy shit does the dude do everything in his power to seem forced. I haven't liked anything he's done since Guava Island and I never cared for community. He's been dormant making music too and suffers from TDS from time to time.

8 eps, about 40 min each. it's not quite slop but it's not groundbreaking or anything. fun little show you watch over a day or two. it's not even woke either, hardly talks about race but Cinemaphile these days will still get uppity about it. the show really is about millennial relationships, so Cinemaphile would probably hate it even more if they actually watched it lmao. luckily, I could relate because I used to have a gf.

I'm not interested it it simply due to the fact that it's not really Mr. and Mrs. Smith from the way I read on different sites
          >couple doesn't start out married
          >couple isn't competent as frick
Three is no reason to call this show Mr. and Mrs. Smith other than to cash in on people who watched the movie and they know it

Later on it turns out the company routinely merks Smiths who frick up, and that they have specific teams whose sole job is to eliminate other Smiths.
the scene at the beginning is two such assets being scrubbed by the company.
the whole deal is that all their assets are expendable, and the best recruits are moved up into positions where their entire job is to dispose of assets that have served their purpose.

I liked it, you homosexuals are just triggered by the Black person and hapa leads. Even the gun selections were pretty good here compared to most TV shows and it seems like they actually had an armorer who knows shit about frick because as a /k/ommando I spotted some guns on this show that you don't usually see.

I'm not sure how comedic the show is but what a terrible way of handling a covert agency. So the company accepts agents who frick up to work there? How on earth is that a plausible idea, especially if they regularly kill off their own agents?

Again I kinda read it as, they take inclined people no one legitimate will take, have them do jobs nobody legitimate would ever do because they don't have the leverage or knowledge to turn them down, then kill them when they either become more of a liability than a benefit or they figure out too much. If they end up being competent, then they end up getting promoted to clean up crew.

Seriously, can you tell me why? I watched three episodes and had enough. Towards the end of the third I just couldn't stop asking myself why the company would hire such awful spies. I mean they're terrible, from the start. And then I remembered the conversations about how no other intelligence agency would have them and it's just like WTF? The entire premise of the show falls apart for me at that point. Unless later on the plot becomes the company purposefully hires neurotic frick ups to sacrifice to rich millionaires to hunt for sport.

I guess I'll give it another try. I still don't get why they wouldn't just hire competent agents to begin with, but maybe they answer that too.

          >I still don't get why they wouldn't just hire competent agents to begin with, but maybe they answer that too.
Tbh a lot of it is subtext but in the beginning of the first episode during their interviews it specifically says that the protagonists have a dishonorable discharge and failed a CIA psych exam respectively. The company specifically seems to hire people who would be considered unhirable by the legitimate intelligence community to do pretty extreme fast-and-loose black ops wetwork with little-to-no information being provided, pays them very well and never gives them enough information to gather the context of what they're doing. Then kills them if they frick up too much, and either promotes or kills them if they start to wise up, and at one point it is revealed that you cannot quit/retire from the company.

It's subtext for the most part but my interpretation was that the company is a meat grinder for disposable, useful idiots.

As the other anon said though, what the show is really "about" is the dynamic of romantic relationships of millennial professionals. I watched it with my wife and we both liked it.

I got that but initially I was thinking personality/psychological problems. But as the show went on they just come off to me as "dumb" Like from mission one after they make the delivery but girl wants to stick around, I was re leaved when John declined. I'm not saying I knew what was going to happen was going to happen just that who the frick in this profession sticks around for drinks during a mission

FRICK YOU yes of Course I know James Bond would stick around for drinks but this isn't a fricking James Bond movie .

I feel right now (only having seen three episodes) that it would have been better if they had compulsions and psychosis that kept them from performing properly instead of, to me, just acting like impulsive idiots. Like Slow Horses. They're frick ups but they're "capable" frick ups, you know what I mean? They're mistakes and blind spots make since in terms of their characters as opposed to Mr and Mrs Smith who couldn't realize maybe they should have each others number BEFORE the mission started.

I guess I just want to say that both of the characters and the other Smiths they encounter check a lot of the boxes for psychopathy/APD over the course of the series, including what you're talking about here.

In fact it becomes a plot point that she failed her CIA psych eval for showing sociopathic tendencies but they both show them constantly over the course of the season.

I did not know an inability to plan or have foresight was a sign of psychopathy. But anyway thanks for filling me in. Most people say they like or hate a show and I ask why it at best goes ignored and usually, for whatever reason, seems to be someone trying to start an argument.

I'll try it again this coming weekend.

Yeah dude, tbh I think a lot of people are dismissing this show out-of-hand as wokeshit and I just don't think it's a fair read on the show. Whether you end up coming around or end up not liking it, I'm glad you're giving it another shot because I did like it. Hopefully you don't end up thinking I'm moronic lol. I'll say though I did spend a lot of the show frustrated with decisions the characters are making until the psychopathy thing clicked with me, but it's honestly hard to say whether I'm giving the show too much credit there.

                Have a good week, anon.

That does make sense but I'm still annoyed by the fact they would slap the name onto the show despite it being completely different from the movie

              Anonymous

The last episode is the one where the DNA of the the movie actually starts to really show because the company tries to get them to kill each other and also sends a team to kill them.

                Anonymous

I mean if people enjoy this premise, it's their right, obviously. The charm of the movie was that both characters didn't know they were affiliated with an agency, and if my memory serves me right, that they were both affiliated with different agencies. Them thinking they're married to a regular person was literally the point of the movie and I have no idea why that couldn't have been done with the show

One moment she's reserved, they frick one time, and now they're bickering like teenagers? Add to that they're both grossly incompetent and childish and I couldn't stomach it. Shame because I thought the first episode was great.

My wife and I are both early 30 millennials. Neither of us act like these morons. They're just genuinely stupid characters. Not because of them being too psychologically inept for the positions from which they were rejected/discharged, but because they're absolute buffoons. Which the show then doubles down on by having two 30-something year olds bicker like high schoolers. To go from two ostensibly competent enough professionals (EP 1) to the bumbling idiots they become by the second and third episode felt like whiplash. Both actors did great, though, and the show is well shot. I'll give it that.

It's supposed to be a very "quirky" milennial show. That alone is a radioactive red flag that glows more than Langley.

      >Childish Gambino has yellow fever

Kind of surprising to me given in Guava Island he really seemed into Black women

Considering half of the appeal of the original Mr&Mrs was the offscreen romance between the co-stars, that makes it extra hilarious if he was expecting to get a smoking hot Lucy Liu-looking asiatic to be BLACKED and love him long time, and instead they gave him that manfaced abomination

Really goes to show just how much the dude's star has faded, he went from Rihanna as his co-star to that in a couple short years lol

It was okay, but no one would even put the show on without the Mr and Mrs Smith tag. Would be just another show people scroll past on Prime.
