I just started watching this and I like it but the IP situation is so weird. It claims to inspired by the 2005 film even though that has the exact opposite premise (in that movie it's a couple of killers who don't know their spouse is also an assassin, in this show it's spies working together pretending to be a couple.) The premise of this show is the same as the 1996 TV series of the same name starring Scott Bakula and Maria Bello which is apparently unconnected to the film or this series.
boring with awkward dialog
I tried to watch this but the constant attempt of trying to make this dude some sort of sexy and suave black lead as if he was the modern Shaft was just too goofy. I couldn't take it seriously.
It's not even about racism, he's just very nerdy looking.
Yeah, I noticed his leather jacket and the way he was trying to sit in the diner.
>It's not even about racism
Well it is for me.
this
donald glover should always be fgoofy and funny
if they wanted suave and serious, that can also be funny, they should've cast my homie lakeith
The asian lady having no charisma made at least a little sense since shes supposed to be autistic but glover lacks the charisma entirely. if he wasn't a riding autist, Johnathan majors would've at least been able to pull off the "ugly homie, but he's suave" that they tried with glover
lakeith is a little too passive in his roles for it. he might've been a good smith for that other couple who does super high risk missions that they meet though
>I THINK IM GONNA BE ABLE TO SELL THIS MOBY D BABY
he has no swagger to begin with
yeah they just use the name to trick people into watching it
The asian lady looks sick
New slop dropped?
Yeah right Amazon employee.
>they call the asian cute
>she looks like she's in her 40s with a permanent b***h-face
it would be kino if they had an adopted kid with telepathy powers
I actually rewatched the movie before going into the series and they're obviously not even connected or related. They're not even that similar.
Typical.
think it's not a remake of the movie, but of this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._%26_Mrs._Smith_(1996_TV_series)
I thought the opening scene was kinda of "what happened to Brad and Angelina after the film ended"
That doesn't work well with the rest of the setting though since they're being killed for what seems to be the established norm.
Are they really similar?
Why did they choose the most nonathletic b***h for a super spy assassin? At least give her some training on how to run properly. Shit, give her a stunt double or something lol
>Why did they choose the most nonathletic b***h for a super spy assassin?
Oh no dude she fricking sucks. They both do. For some reason this independent spy organization hired and teamed up 2 people that no other intelligence agency would hire. Three episodes in and they just kind of bumble through missions (accept it's not really a comedy, its played straight) barely survive or frick it up altogether. At least three episodes in that's what happens.
All they had to do was tell Donald Glover there was an asian love interest and he was sold. He probably didn't even take a paycheck.
His wife is White. Literally.
Series saved by Paul "Classic" Dano
Yeah that's not the joke I was making.
Should've been Will Smith and Jada.
Simple as.
>blackwashed character
Do we add it to the list?
might as well just rewatch the 00s show Chuck
though the MC is a spineless twit for the first 1.5 seasons and last season
It was impossible to copy the vibe the 2005 movie had because these new actors are not a power couple, they have no chemistry together, donald glover is not the seducing, suave archetype, he's too dorky for that and that actress not only looks way older than him but has zero presence
Of course it doesnt work, if this is a real thing.
Why not get two asians and maybe they could suspect each other being like chinese spy or something
How much does ~~*amazon*~~ pay you Black person
