Karen being a major character in new episodes feels so fricking wrong it's crazy, like something about it feels like it totally clashes with even the tone of new Spongebob.
Imagine calling your antagonist's computer a main character just because you got some use out of them. Like calling Smithers a main on the Simpsons.
Karen actually got an episode with her Gal Pals that Plankton wasn't even in
